Finally escaping the circle of onlookers, Jiang Ran let out a sigh of relief.

Holding her breath as she rode the tricycle back ho, she got off the vehicle, turned to look at Pei Shanshan and Pei Yang, and saw the sa helpless expression on their faces.

Just by looking at their expressions, Jiang Ran knew their thoughts were similar to hers right now.

"Alright, stop standing around like fools. Hurry up and cook sothing, eat early, wash, and get to bed early." Jiang Ran said to the two of them.

Upon hearing Jiang Ran’s words, Pei Yang and Pei Shanshan both laughed and agreed, following Jiang Ran into the kitchen.

——

The crowd watched Jiang Ran pedal away on the tricycle, only reluctantly retracting their gaze once she was out of sight.

When they turned their attention to Pei Baoshan and Wang Cuilan, their eyes were glistening.

"That tricycle isn’t cheap, is it?"

"Your business is really booming! How did you earn so much money?"

"Yeah! Why do people keep going to your place to eat?"

"We’re from the sa village, share a little secret, will ya!"

The ones asking all happened to be selling food in the county recently as well.

They sold different items and couldn’t stir up the commotion Jiang Ran did, mostly just selling so wraps and baked buns.

Business was diocre, earning just a small profit, but couldn’t compare with the Pei family’s business.

They had long been curious about how the Pei family made so much money but never had the chance to ask.

Now finally having the chance, naturally, they needed to ask thoroughly.

Facing these inquiries, Pei Baoshan and Wang Cuilan kept their expressions unchanged.

"We just go over occasionally to take a look, Ranran’s the one leading her younger siblings. Even if you ask us, we can’t really explain much!"

"Yeah! I can’t even cook..."

This response was sothing the family had agreed upon beforehand.

Wang Cuilan and Pei Baoshan just needed to shake off the questions and shift all reasons to Jiang Ran.

With Jiang Ran’s fierce reputation, no matter how curious the villagers were, they dared not corner Jiang Ran for answers.

The Pei family’s shop was always run with Jiang Ran cooking, everyone knew this.

Though the crowd wasn’t satisfied with this answer from Pei Baoshan and Wang Cuilan, there was nothing they could say.

After finally handling the crowd, Pei Baoshan and Wang Cuilan exchanged glances and headed ho together.

Even though the two of them tried to co back as quickly as possible, by the ti they got ho, Jiang Ran and the others had already prepared dinner.

Just looking at the prepared dinner, it was clear how much ti they had delayed.

The next morning, when heading to the county, Pei Shanshan and Pei Yang took so money along.

As soon as the morning chores were done, Jiang Ran led the two of them to the departnt store.

Each bought a bicycle, though with slightly different styles.

Pei Yang chose one with a crossbar in front, quite large, suitable for carrying people and goods.

Pei Shanshan, being a girl, preferred one that was more lightweight and compact.

Although Jiang Ran felt bicycles of this era were not exactly small or exquisite, compared to the one Pei Yang chose, Pei Shanshan’s was indeed much more attractive.

They had just co here yesterday; the saleswoman rembered them quite vividly.

Having bought a tricycle and a refrigerator yesterday and now back to buy two bicycles, what kind of family is this?

Despite dressing simply, who would’ve thought they were quite affluent.
