"Go easy, if I was there, I would’ve beaten him half to death!" Grandpa Luo’s voice ca in; he had been at the door and already heard Xiao Xiao recount the incident.

"Dad!" Third Aunt Luo looked incredulously at Grandpa Luo.

Grandpa Luo waved his hand: "If there’s nothing else, go back!"

"Dad!"

Xiao Xiao rushed in to report: "Fourth Grandpa, Aunt, and Second Aunt ca and stood at the door for a while then left. I couldn’t even call them back. Were they afraid that Fourth Grandpa would hit them and that’s why they didn’t dare to co in?"

Hearing that her two sisters-in-law had co by, Third Aunt Luo’s expression was unsettled, changing for a while before she left silently. Qian Zailai and Qian Xiaotian hurriedly said goodbye to Grandpa Luo and followed her out.

"Why did everyone leave? I was hoping to let them et my son-in-law when he arrives." Xiao Xiao pouted discontentedly.

Luo Ye chuckled and tousled Xiao Xiao’s hair: "Xiao Xiao, fond of your son-in-law?"

"Yes, my mom said, anyone who cherishes and treats well is a son-in-law, Little Yezi..." Xiao Xiao quickly glanced at Luo Feng and Grandpa Luo, then pulled Luo Ye aside, her face blushing as she murmured sothing into Luo Ye’s ear, then looked at Luo Ye expectantly.

"Well, you’ll understand when you grow up. Little Yezi doesn’t understand it either." Luo Ye smiled wryly; Xiao Xiao’s mysterious question was about how to put a baby inside her belly. Awkward!

...

Third Aunt Luo’s uproar did have an unexpected effect; after dinner, Uncle Luo’s family and Second Uncle Luo’s family ca by one after another. Aunt and Second Aunt were very sincere in apologizing for their past actions. Aunt even swore that from now on, she would live well with Uncle Luo without any more fuss, giving Grandpa peace of mind.

Luo Ye looked at the room full of joyous relatives, feeling sowhat bewildered. The true reason that prompted them to do this, she didn’t want to guess maliciously, but believing that they had figured things out in just a few days was impossible!

So, when the two sisters-in-law warmly grabbed her hands, she subtly withdrew her hands, her smiling face appearing indifferent and distant.

Well, it’s better than having a full-blown confrontation. Even though it’s sowhat hollow, it will make Grandpa and Dad feel much better, but liking these people, that’s impossible!

On the way here, she had genuinely wanted to treat these relatives well and even felt a hint of excitent about eting them. However, their actions disappointed her. Especially after talking with Grandpa that night, she had erected a wall in her heart, keeping these people on the other side.

"Second Uncle."

Second Uncle Luo, coming out of the restroom, was startled to see his niece standing at the corner. For a mont, he felt her gaze piercingly cold, not understanding why he felt that way.

"Ye’er, what’s up?" Second Uncle Luo reached out to pat Luo Ye’s head, facing her shining eyes, and recalling the coldness just then, awkwardly withdrew his hand.

"Nothing." Luo Ye smiled faintly and returned to the room. She indeed had had the impulse to confront Second Uncle, but luckily, in the last mont she controlled herself. What’s the use in asking? They would never understand her feelings.

Correct, if tracing back to the root of all troubles, the primary cause of Luo Family’s destruction and misery was Second Uncle Luo.

When he was young, Second Uncle Luo liked making friends, was hot-tempered yet very loyal, often touting that he would go through fire for his friends. Whenever a friend was bullied, he was always the first to rush to their defense, despite Grandpa Luo’s attempts to advise him otherwise.

Often walking by the river, one’s shoes are bound to get wet; Second Uncle Luo and so friends went to settle scores and got caught. Under his friends’ incitent, he unexpectedly took all the bla upon himself.

It coincided with a crackdown period, and the victim was seriously injured. Second Uncle Luo was sentenced to seven years in prison. After the verdict, he realized the severity of the situation and retracted his confession, saying it wasn’t all his doings, but then his friends’ testimonies uniformly turned against him, and so did the testimonials from the victim’s family and friends, leaving his sentence irrevocable.

Uncle Luo, Third Aunt Luo, and Wang Yan frantically brought Luo Zhenggang back to find a solution. While Grandpa Luo was certainly heartbroken, he did not want his youngest son to pay for the wrongdoing of the second son, thus advising Luo Zhenggang to help within his capacity; otherwise, let it be Second Uncle’s fate to be reford in prison.

Uncle Luo and Third Aunt Luo felt that having Second Uncle in prison was too shaful, and Wang Yan also tearfully begged Luo Zhenggang..., the eventual result was that Second Uncle Luo was released from prison after six months.
