Q University’s registration day arrived, and Ying Nuo sullenly nestled on the sofa watching Mom help her pack her bag. Her parents had set a rule where she would stay at the boarding school for four days and co ho for three, so she still needed to take so things to school.

While packing, Mrs. Nuo nagged, "Nuonuo, Mom understands your relationship with Luo Ye, but no banquet lasts forever. In a new environnt, you’ll et new friends. Cheer up."

Ying Nuo replied lazily, "It’s not the sa, Luo Luo and I are friends for life. Mom, why do you and dad insist on boarding? The school is only two bus stops away from ho, why waste money on accommodation fees?"

Mrs. Nuo sighed and sat in front of her daughter, "Nuonuo, Mom always hoped that you could end up with Luo Feng, considering your feelings for Luo Ye; she’s such an understanding child..."

"Mom!" Ying Nuo interrupted impatiently, "What are you even talking about?"

"Let Mom finish," Mrs. Nuo gently adjusted her daughter’s hair. "From the perspective of soone who’s been through it, marriage is not just about the couple; it involves the whole family. Dealing with incompatible sisters-in-law and co-wives can make life uncomfortable. As for the mother-in-law, you can’t choose her, but if the child has good character, the family can’t be too bad. So, Mom always hoped there might be a future between you and Luo Feng.

But knowing the Luo Family’s background, Mom really couldn’t entertain that thought anymore. Our family might seem decent in the eyes of ordinary folks, but compared to the Luo Family, we can’t even match their little finger.

Marriage is about matching social status; if you aim too high, you’ll spend your life trying to please them. Your dad and I only have you, and we don’t expect you to marry above your station, just that you are happy.

So, we discussed boarding school for you; interacting more with your classmates will be good for you, Nuonuo. Mom and Dad won’t harm you."

Ying Nuo grimaced, "Mom, I’m still so young, why do you keep thinking about this?"

"Mom’s view is, it’s better to start dating earlier. Many parents set rules for their children to focus on studies and consider dating after they start working, but isn’t that too late? Once you start working, people beco pragmatic; by then dating becos like shopping for goods. Finding soone of matching social status and good character while at school is a lifeti of fortune."

"Mom, your views are either ridiculously modern or terribly outdated, still talking about matching social statuses, pfft! You think this is feudal society?" Ying Nuo’s face twisted as if it was about to morph into an old eggplant.

"You won’t understand now, but later you’ll realize everything Mom says is sensible," Mrs. Nuo slapped her daughter lightly on the back. "Hurry up and get ready to go register. Don’t keep lingering at ho."

"Who’s lingering at ho, old-fashioned and overly progressive!" Ying Nuo made a face and ran back to her bedroom.

Mrs. Nuo carefully double-checked the items in the bag before zipping it up contentedly. She glanced at the TV beside a photo of her daughter with Luoye Xingnong, hesitated for a mont, then decided to put it in her daughter’s bag.

Especially Luoye, Mrs. Nuo understood her place in her daughter’s heart very well, but since everyone involved was top-tier, she truly worried her daughter might lose her way. This led her and her husband to decide on boarding school, to let her live amongst ordinary kids.

Her husband said she was worrying unnecessarily: their daughter was never one to misjudge her own standing, otherwise, she wouldn’t have chosen Q University over GF University.

While she agreed with her husband’s viewpoint, as a mother, understanding was one thing, but acting on it was another.

Moreover, she genuinely worried her daughter might beco too attached to the Luo Family, a family seemingly indifferent to pedigree, but the thoughts of those high in society were beyond her guess.

What if her daughter decided on Luo Feng, but the Luo family elders disagreed? Such a marriage, even if pursued to conclusion, would not be happy. No matter how good the relationship between Luoye and her daughter, it couldn’t sway the elders’ decisions.

"Mom, I’m leaving."

"Mom, I’m leaving."

"Mom, what are you thinking? I had to say it twice and you didn’t respond!" Ying Nuo poked her mom, half wondering if her mom would keep pondering even after she reached school.

"Oh, Mom will see you off," Mrs. Nuo quickly stood up.

Ying Nuo quickly stopped Mrs. Nuo, "No need, it’s just two bus stops away. I’m not that delicate, and anyway, I’ll be back tonight. Mom, you’re acting like I’m leaving for a long journey."
