Don’t make it look like an 80-year-old granny’s cross-country race, lacking passion and fighting spirit. You shouldn’t save your energy to this extent!
Moreover, this is an individual selection, not a team collaboration. There’s no need to maintain such neat ranks; think carefully about pairing up just because you get along well.

Xing Nong poked Luo Ye: "Is he talking about us? But he’s right, let’s put our one-on-one help on hold for now. If we get in, it ans we are capable; if not, it ans we need to work harder."
Luo Ye nodded: "Okay, let’s discuss it among us. Everyone is desperately vying for positions; at this point, sticking together really doesn’t make sense. I’ll take responsibility for Zhan Hao and Yaoguang, you handle Liu Xingwu and Zetian."
"Got it!" Xing Nong slightly slowed down to wait for Zhan Hao and Yaoguang, while Luo Ye sped up to catch up with Liu Xingwu and Zetian.
Minutes later, Zhan Hao caught up with Yaoguang and Xing Nong, "Yaoguang and I were just discussing this. I didn’t expect you guys had already moved ahead. Luo Ye pondered for a mont, "Alright, Yaoguang, Xing Nong, Zetian in one team, you and I plus Liu Xing in another. Any objections from others?"

The six of them ended up running together, facilitating direct communication; with unanimous opinions, the implentation of the new strategy began, and everyone sped up albeit at different paces.
Among the group of Zhan Hao, Luo Ye, and Liu Xing, Luo Ye was a notch below the two in stamina. However, her experience of being madly chased by Big White and Big Yellow was invaluable; she wouldn’t slow them down, which was why she put herself in the sa group with them.
After five kiloters, the formation loosened and scattered; ahead of Luo Ye, Liu Xing, and Zhan Hao were only two male students, Yan Han and Lu Jian, the top trainees of the East Playground.
Lagging behind them were Ji Sisi, Yu Na, Jing Feng (also from the East Playground), and a bit farther away were Xing Nong, Yaoguang, and Zetian.
Even though the weather in October had cooled down, eight kiloters later, Luo Ye’s clothes were completely soaked; the heavy backpack on her back made her shoulder straps painfully hot from the soaked sweat, forcing her to constantly adjust the straps to alleviate the shoulder pain.
Feeling a sudden lightness on her shoulders, she turned her head to find that, though Liu Xing and Zhan Hao were running alongside her, they had reached back to help support her backpack. She quickly sped up to break free, "Didn’t we agree? We rely on our own strength. Besides, you two aren’t really any more comfortable than . I’m not that delicate."
"You’re still a girl," Zhan Hao took a deep breath, unfastening his helt to wipe the sweat from his forehead. "This thing is really cumberso!"
"When it saves your life, you won’t call it cumberso," Luo Ye also removed her helt to catch a breath, sweat trickling down from her hair ends, irritating her eyes.
"Why not prepare a small handkerchief to wrap around your wrist?" Liu Xing suggested while pulling out a Blue Team colored handkerchief from his pocket: "Here, use this, I haven’t used it yet."
Luo Ye hurriedly declined: "No need, I have them, and not just one. Xing Nong and Yaoguang sweat more, I’ve already stuffed them in their pockets."
"Take it. I’m a boy, rough-skinned. If I sweat too much, I just wipe it with my sleeve," Liu Xing feigned a stern face: "Seems like Ye’er is looking down on it?"
"Alright, then I’ll use it." Luo Ye quickly fastened her helt and tied the handkerchief around her wrist, smiling and waving: "Satisfied now?"

Following the direction Zhan Hao pointed, Luo Ye and Liu Xing saw a tricycle loaded with an ample heap of corn cobs, and yet more corn stalks stacked high on both sides. The driver was completely covered under the corn stalks, bending over and poking his head out cautiously steering forward.
Looking around, they noticed that all nearby vehicles were loaded in a similar fashion. Luo Ye puffed her cheeks and blew out breathe: "Loading like that is so dangerous!"
"Pulling one less trip is still saving a trip, it’s close to ho anyway. During this season, there are no overtaking vehicles on this road; slowly wobbling back ho isn’t that dangerous."
"Zhan Hao, you seem to know quite a lot," Luo Ye giggled: "The Commandant is blocked; we’re about to overtake them. Four wheels can’t outrun two legs, haha..." She giggled while rolling her eyes: "Let’s speed up and pass them. Aim to leave a mark at the destination and et them again on the return to see what his face will look like, shall we?"
"No problem! As you command!" Liu Xing and Zhan Hao both responded, accelerating their pace. The three of them swiftly overtook Yan Han and Lu Jian, sprinting toward Mo Datong’s vehicle. Seeing this, Yan Han and Lu Jian imdiately sped up to overtake them again.
