"Jiang Xue, what brings you here today?" Mr. Mu looked at Jiang Xue, instructing Housekeeper Lin to serve tea, and asked with a smile.
"Mr. Mu, I’m here because I have sothing to ask." Jiang Xue laughed. She had pondered over the incident from the other day and felt it necessary to ntion it to Mr. Mu. If the Jiang Family were to co to them later, they would be caught off guard.
"What’s the matter? Just tell !" Mr. Mu kept a look of amusent on his face, not upset that Jiang Xue had sothing to discuss. In fact, he seed quite pleased.
"Mr. Mu, here’s the thing—I recently offended soone, and they might retaliate, so I’d like to ask for your help."
"Offended soone?" Mr. Mu’s expression grew serious. He knew Jiang Xue and the others hadn’t been in Xu City for long, so how could they have offended anyone?
"Yes!"
"May I ask whom you offended?"
"The Jiang Family from South City."
"What?" Mr. Mu was taken aback, looking at Jiang Xue for quite a while before speaking. He knew about the Jiang Family from South City. He just hadn’t expected Jiang Xue to have offended them, no wonder she sought his help.
If she indeed offended the Jiang Family, he could say a few words to help her. After all, he did have so connections with Old Sir Jiang from the Jiang Family.
When they were younger, they had even joked about becoming in-laws. However, Old Sir Jiang later had three sons, and other than Mu Siwu, he had no other sons, so the matter was dropped.
"How did you offend them? Tell the whole story," Mr. Mu wanted to understand the situation to effectively assist Jiang Xue.
Jiang Xue nodded and recounted everything that had happened recently to Mr. Mu. When Mr. Mu heard about Jiang Xue’s parents being kidnapped and almost getting into trouble, he looked at Jiang Xue sowhat reproachfully, saying, "Jiang Xue, why didn’t you co to when that happened initially?"
"I’m sorry, Mr. Mu. It happened all of a sudden, and since my parents were just frightened, we didn’t want to disturb you."
"You silly child, in the future, if anything like this happens, you must inform imdiately. Even though I’m getting old, I still have so influence in various departnts."
"Mr. Mu, I was wrong. From now on, I’ll make sure to inform you right away." Jiang Xue apologized sincerely, and only then did Mr. Mu let it go. He then looked at her and asked, "Did the Jiang Family cause you more trouble afterward?"
"Yes!" Jiang Xue ntioned the incident where Ah Yong ca to her, asking her to drop the lawsuit. Mr. Mu, hearing this, looked displeased and said, "Jiang Xue, if they dare to use their power to oppress you again in the future, you just ntion my na or the Mu Family from Beijing. I want to see who dares to act arrogantly in front of my Mu Family."
"Okay, I’ll listen to Mr. Mu and use power to fight back." Jiang Xue laughed, not expecting Mr. Mu to say such a thing.
However, she liked what he said. It showed her that Mr. Mu is protective of his own.
"That’s the spirit!" Mr. Mu heard Jiang Xue’s words and, instead of feeling displeased, he laughed. Then he said, "I’m free today anyway, so I’ll go back with you later and pay a visit to your parents and Little Reunion."
Housekeeper Lin chuckled upon hearing Mr. Mu say he was going to Jiang Xue’s house, jokingly remarking, "Sir, I think you’re just going for a free al!"
With that, Jiang Xue and Mr. Mu both laughed.
Mr. Mu tidied up a bit and went ho with Jiang Xue. Yet, as soon as they arrived, even before entering the house, they saw that the main gate to her parents’ ho was open, with voices coming from inside.
