With a car and driver at their disposal, Jiang Xue and Mu Qiancheng finally told the elderly about their plan to go out. At first, Bai Yuhua and the others were reluctant to go, fearing the car might not have enough space.
Later, when they heard that Shangguan Wenbin would be driving over, they agreed. To be honest, they’re not familiar with this Xu City; they’ve been staying at ho since they arrived and have long wanted to go out and explore.
Xu City may not have much else, but it has plenty of lakes, like Yunlong Lake, Dalong Lake, Jiuli Lake, and Jiaoshan Lake, and the scenery around each lake is quite nice.
Last ti Jiang Xue took Grandma Shangguan to Yunlong Lake, so she thought of visiting a different lake. After so consideration, they finally chose Jiuli Lake.
However, as soon as the elders heard it involved seeing a lake, they were not very interested and said to Jiang Xue, "Xue’er, there’s not much to see at a lake. I heard there’s a nice forest park here. Why don’t we walk there instead? Plus, it’s close to where we’re staying, making it convenient to co and go. We can even have lunch at ho."
Both Father Jiang and Mrs. Jiang, as well as the in-laws, didn’t quite enjoy dining out; they thought it was too expensive and didn’t feel that the restaurant food was better than their own cooking at ho.
When it ca to this, Jiang Xue didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. She should be happy because the elders at ho thought her cooking was tastier than what was offered at big hotels. But for so reason, she couldn’t feel happy at all.
It’s not that she didn’t want to cook for everyone, but rather because she felt the family was too poor. The elders were used to hard tis and didn’t know how to enjoy themselves.
Since the elders had spoken, Jiang Xue and Mu Qiancheng couldn’t say much, plus Grandma Shangguan ntioned that Shangguan Wenbin had taken her to see the lakes before, so walking in a park would be nice too.
Thus, everyone headed to the forest park together.
The forest park was indeed very close to where they lived, just a few minutes’ drive away. When they arrived, Mu Qiancheng and Shangguan Wenbin went to find a parking spot while Jiang Xue led everyone into the park.
There were two main entrances to the park, one was the East Gate and the other was the North Gate. They entered through the East Gate, and shortly inside, they saw two paths diverging left and right.
"Xue’er, which way should we go?" the elders stopped and asked Jiang Xue.
"Either way is fine, both paths go around the park and lead back here." Jiang Xue had been there before and knew that both roads were okay.
"Alright then, let’s take the right path, there’s a stele forest and a peony garden on this side, we might as well take a look," Mu Siwu said, looking at the signpost.
No one had any objections, so since Mu Siwu suggested the right, they took the right path. As they walked to the right, Mu Qiancheng and Shangguan Wenbin, having parked the car, caught up with them.
Bai Yuhua had so difficulty with her leg, so Mu Qiancheng went up to support her.
"I’m fine, go help Xue’er with the child." Bai Yuhua looked at her son who was supporting her and instructed with a smile. In theory, her leg was still not healed and she shouldn’t have co, but staying alone at ho was boring, so she joined them.
Since she ca along, she naturally didn’t want to beco a burden to Mu Qiancheng and the others, and she could walk with a crutch. anwhile, Jiang Xue was holding the child all the ti, which was surely exhausting.
So, she told Mu Qiancheng to go help Jiang Xue with the child, insisting she was okay on her own.
Upon hearing this, Mu Qiancheng glanced at Jiang Xue, who was holding the child and walking ahead, feeling a bit hesitant. He didn’t want his wife to struggle carrying the child but was also concerned about his mother’s mobility.
