"Isn’t it obvious? Of course, she’s trying to harm you. Who tells others to get a divorce? Doesn’t she think about what would happen to you if you really got divorced? Not to ntion anything else, just the rumors alone could drown you."
"Words can be terrifying, doesn’t she understand such a simple truth?"
"Mom, I know, that’s why I was so angry when I heard her say that, and then I fell out with her. Tell , can I still reconcile with her after she acted like that?"
"It’s good that you fell out!" Father Jiang had long been displeased with Cheng Li. Upon hearing his daughter’s words, he naturally sided with her.
"Old Jiang!" Mrs. Jiang glanced at her husband. She was thinking deeply and didn’t imdiately express support for Jiang Xue. Instead, she asked, "Xue’er, if Cheng Li cos to you in a few days to reconcile and admits she’s wrong, what will you do?"
When Jiang Xue heard her mother’s words, she imdiately understood her concern, so she smiled and said, "Mom, since I’ve already decided not to reconcile with her, even if she kneels in front of , I won’t make up with her. As for forgiveness, that’s even less to talk about."
"She can’t stand to see doing well, so why should I forgive her?"
"Alright, since you say so, mom is at ease. Since this Cheng Li is such a person, mom supports you." Mrs. Jiang felt slightly relieved.
She knew her daughter’s temperant well. However, one thing was that she was stubborn; once she set her mind on sothing, not even nine oxen could pull her back.
Since she decided not to get along with Cheng Li, she naturally wouldn’t.
"Mom, I’ve grown up now, I won’t let you worry anymore."
After hearing Jiang Xue’s words, Mrs. Jiang smiled but didn’t say anything further. Children are always a debt for parents; no matter how old they get, as parents, you still have to worry.
"Dinner’s ready, dinner’s ready!" A shout interrupted Jiang Xue’s conversation with her parents. In no ti, the table was filled with dishes, and Jiang Xue invited her parents to eat.
To show her apology, Jiang Xue kept serving her parents food until their bowls were piled high before she stopped.
"You silly child, serving us so much and not eating yourself. Eat, eat, we don’t need you to serve us." Mrs. Jiang looked at her daughter, who seed to have matured, and who knew to serve them now. She felt very gratified.
Seeing her daughter’s empty bowl, she also helped serve so of her favorite dishes.
"Thanks, Mom!" Jiang Xue thanked her with a smile and then began to eat the dishes in her bowl.
"Little Xue!"
While Jiang Xue was eating with her parents, a familiar voice reached her ears.
She looked up and saw Cheng Li standing nervously by their table, looking at her.
Seeing Cheng Li’s timid appearance made Jiang Xue even angrier. She thought this woman really had a thick skin. Her mother-in-law had already told her off, and she wasn’t even invited today, yet she dared to co.
"Why are you here?" Jiang Xue put down her chopsticks and looked at Cheng Li indifferently. The table full of dishes suddenly lost its flavor because of Cheng Li’s presence.
"Today you finish your confinent, I ca to see you." Cheng Li appeared cautious, as if she was afraid Jiang Xue would get angry.
"Now that you’ve seen , go back to where you ca from." Jiang Xue gave Cheng Li a cold glance, remaining vigilant.
Cheng Li, seeing that Jiang Xue was asking her to leave in front of her parents and so many guests, felt secretly resentful but put on a pitiful face and said, "Little Xue, I, I know I said sothing wrong that day. I specifically ca today to apologize to you. I’m sorry, will you forgive ?"
