At this mont, in a unit in Shenzhen, Mu Qiancheng and his team had just returned from a mission in the morning and were resting in the dormitory.
Lying on the bed, Mu Qiancheng was thinking about the people at ho. His mind was filled with the image of Jiang Xue, her angry expression, her reluctant expression.
But what he couldn’t understand was, why wasn’t Jiang Xue writing back to him?
The day he went on the mission, he had sent the letter. It’s already been a month. Even if it ca back twice, the letter should have arrived by now.
But why hadn’t he received a letter?
Mu Qiancheng couldn’t figure it out. He planned to make a phone call in the afternoon and check. Jiang Xue should be out of confinent now and capable of answering calls.
By then, he wanted to ask her properly why she hadn’t written back for so long.
Just as Mu Qiancheng was lost in thought, soone ca to the dorm to notify him that he had a phone call. As soon as Mu Qiancheng heard he had a call, he leaped up from the bed and ran to the place to take it.
When he arrived, the young colleague there told him that the caller would call back in five minutes.
Mu Qiancheng nodded at the words, and didn’t think much of it. Waiting was always difficult; a re five minutes felt interminably long to Mu Qiancheng.
Just when he was getting a bit anxious, the phone finally rang.
Picking up the phone, Mu Qiancheng directly spoke, "Hello, this is Mu Qiancheng!"
However, after he finished speaking, there was no response from the other end of the line for a while. This puzzled Mu Qiancheng, and after a mont he asked again, "Who is this, are you there?"
On the other end, Jiang Xue finally snapped back to attention and replied, "Yes, yes."
"Honey?" Mu Qiancheng was sowhat surprised to hear Jiang Xue’s voice, and uncertainly asked, "Is it you?"
"It’s !"
Those two gentle words made Mu Qiancheng suddenly happy, and he said, "Honey, it’s really you. You’re out of confinent, right?"
"Yes, I just got out of confinent yesterday." Jiang Xue slowly relaxed and spoke more fluently. The mont she heard Mu Qiancheng’s voice, she was so nervous she couldn’t speak.
This was also why Mu Qiancheng didn’t hear anything for quite a while.
The thought that his wife was on the other end of the line naturally excited Mu Qiancheng. It had been a month since they’d seen each other, but it felt as if they hadn’t t for a much longer ti.
Jiang Xue talked to Mu Qiancheng about family matters over the phone, and also ntioned the incident at the banquet where she hit Cheng Li and Mrs. Cheng.
Mu Qiancheng listened, full of worry, and asked, "Honey, were you hurt?"
"No!"
"Honey, in the future, if sothing like this happens, don’t go head-to-head with them. Wait for to co back and we’ll deal with it. As for hitting people, I’ll take care of that for you in the future."
"Alright, I’ll wait for you then." Jiang Xue felt very comforted by Mu Qiancheng’s words, and a smile instantly spread across her face.
"By the way, Qiancheng, didn’t I ask you to write a letter? Why haven’t you written one yet?" Jiang Xue rembered the purpose of her call and asked.
"Honey, I did write. I wrote a letter the mont I got to the base, and sent it out the next day. Didn’t you receive it?"
It was only then that Mu Qiancheng realized why he hadn’t received any reply. It turned out Jiang Xue hadn’t received his letter at all.
If she hadn’t received the letter, naturally she couldn’t have replied. But when he got back, he had checked, and his letter had indeed been sent.
So why hadn’t Jiang Xue received the letter?
