After eating a little compressed dry food, Shui Yiyi set out once again. She was determined to find Ye Qingfeng.
It was unclear how long she had been walking, but Shui Yiyi’s clothes had been torn, and delicate cuts streaked across her arms.
Yet, Shui Yiyi’s eyes were steadfast, and she paid no mind to her injuries.
Finally, Shui Yiyi arrived at the place where she had previously encountered the strange man, where Ye Qingfeng had co to her rescue.
Though it was still a guess, she simply felt that the man was Ye Qingfeng.
Because only Ye Qingfeng possessed such an aura.
Shui Yiyi’s heart surged with excitent. According to the map, the cliff was not far away!
Shui Yiyi was not taking the sa path that Ye Qingfeng and Su Yingxin had traveled.
She wasn’t going to the top of the cliff, but rather to the bottom, to search for Ye Qingfeng.
Shui Yiyi had studied the map and found a path to the base of the cliff, which ironically was closer than the path to the Fla Stone.
In fact, if Su Yingxin had wanted to go down to rescue Ye Qingfeng, it wouldn’t have taken much ti, Shui Yiyi surmised from analyzing the map.
However, she bore no resentnt towards Su Yingxin. After all, no one was obligated to save Ye Qingfeng; she just hoped Ye Qingfeng was still alive.
"He’s so skilled, surely he will be alright,"
Shui Yiyi consoled herself inwardly, yet she knew that the odds were slim.
According to Su Yingxin’s description, the cliff was a thousand ters high. Even if Ye Qingfeng was exceedingly skilled, he wasn’t an immortal, how could he survive?
Nevertheless, Shui Yiyi had resolved to find Ye Qingfeng, and no matter how faint the glimr of hope, she would not give up. If Ye Qingfeng truly perished, she was prepared to join him.
As she continued forward, Shui Yiyi was already in tatters, with several new scratches from the shrubs along the path.
At night, Shui Yiyi pulled out the map and assessed that the base of the cliff was not far off.
But it was already nightti, she had to wait until morning to continue onward.
Gently biting her lip, Shui Yiyi decided to keep going; she was almost there, she just needed to persevere a bit longer.
The sooner she found Ye Qingfeng, the greater his chances of survival.
Besides, with Ye Qingfeng’s Jade Pendant protecting her, there should be no problem.
Shui Yiyi continued towards the cliff’s base, having prepared a flashlight to proceed once it got completely dark.
Yet, the Primordial Forest at night was truly terrifying, aside from the beam from the flashlight, all around was utter darkness.
The surrounding pitch-blackness concealed unseen dangers.
Shui Yiyi clutched her clothes tightly, uncertain whether it was the chilling night air or the eerily sinister atmosphere making her feel cold.
Suddenly, Shui Yiyi’s Jade Pendant flickered with light, shortly after, a rustling sound emanated from the woods behind her.
Shui Yiyi knew that sothing intended to attack her; it was Ye Qingfeng’s Jade Pendant that had saved her.
However, the Jade Pendant’s glow was dimr than before. Shui Yiyi understood that it certainly wasn’t sothing that could be used indefinitely.
If things kept attacking her constantly, this Jade Pendant was bound to fail eventually.
Shui Yiyi quickened her pace; she had to reach Ye Qingfeng before the Jade Pendant failed.
All night, Shui Yiyi pressed forward rapidly, unsure exactly of her location, but certain that the cliff’s base was near.
In this ti, Shui Yiyi’s Jade Pendant shimred several tis, but the glow grew dimr.
Shui Yiyi’s anxiety mounted; she was uncertain whether she could withstand much longer in the cliff.
During such nights in the Primordial Forest, without the protection of the Jade Pendant, an attack by a wild beast would almost certainly lead to death.
Gritting her teeth, Shui Yiyi accelerated her pace further, until finally, after a faint glimr, the Pendant was completely spent.
She sensed it was out of power; the Pendant had originally possessed a kind of ethereal quality which had now vanished.
Luckily, the sky was lightening, daylight must be approaching.
Just making it to daylight would undoubtedly be much safer.
Still holding the flashlight, Shui Yiyi focused entirely on the path ahead, fearful of any erging beasts.
Her heart was lodged in her throat, without the protection of the Jade Pendant, in the Primordial Forest she was akin to a lamb ready for slaughter, highly susceptible to losing her life.
Shui Yiyi kept her gaze affixed to the distance, prepared to flee at any sign of danger.
Suddenly, her heartbeat nearly leaped out of her chest.
In the corner of her eye, she spotted a thin green snake flicking its tongue, its bright eyes fixating intensely on her.
She had been focused on the distance, entirely missing the presence of the snake upon the tree.
In that instant, Shui Yiyi had no ti to react as the slender green snake lunged at her.
The snake moved with astonishing speed, there was no ti for Shui Yiyi to respond.
It’s over.
Shui Yiyi’s heart raced with alarm; her mind flashed with a single thought: she might never see Ye Qingfeng again.
In utter despair, Shui Yiyi shut her eyes tightly, but monts later felt no bite.
She cautiously opened her eyes and saw the green snake inexplicably pinned to the tree, dead.
What happened?
Shui Yiyi was bewildered.
Then, a faint voice echoed in her ear:
"Why have you co here? Are you courting death?"
Shui Yiyi’s heart skipped a beat in the eerie solitude of the Primordial Forest; the abrupt voice sent shivers down her spine.
Shui Yiyi shuddered slightly. The sudden voice was terrifying.
Frightened beyond asure, she bit her lip hard, courageously turned around, and gasped in disbelief.
"Ye Qingfeng!"
Shui Yiyi cried out.
Ye Qingfeng, it was truly Ye Qingfeng!
He was alive, standing right before her!
In an instant, everything beca clear, the young man who saved her was Ye Qingfeng.
It was he who saved her ti and again, who sent her away, driving Su Yingxin away, facing all dangers alone.
Now, once more, he had saved her.
Appearing at the most critical mont!
Unable to hold back any longer, Shui Yiyi’s tears spilled down her cheeks.
She yearned day and night to see Ye Qingfeng, and now he truly appeared before her, as if in a dream, making it hard for Shui Yiyi to believe.
Ye Qingfeng stood right before her, his gaze cold and indifferent.
As Shui Yiyi looked at Ye Qingfeng, tears flowed freely. The originally frail man seed incomprehensibly towering.
Though she had countless words she wished to say upon seeing Ye Qingfeng, now, facing him, she could not utter a word.
