Director Lu saw the man bring Chen Qian inside, but Ye Fei didn’t follow. He imdiately snorted coldly and said, "What? That kid didn’t co along?"
"No, I guess his lies were exposed and he felt too embarrassed to co in!" the man quickly replied.
Hearing this, Chen Qian instantly spoke up, feeling a bit indignant. "Brother Ye would never lie..."
"Xiao Qian!"
Director Lu sighed and said, "You’re young and inexperienced. You don’t understand the motives and sches of soone like that rascal. All that talk about great evil spirits and monsters is just a way to frighten you and then act brave in front of you, so as to gain your favor. It’s nothing but a little ploy!"
"Let tell you, you’re going to take over Shi Lan’s position in the future. It’s best not to associate with soone as useless as that boy."
As he spoke, Director Lu didn’t wait for Chen Qian to say more. He imdiately turned around to address the staff preparing the lighting and equipnt, shouting, "Alright, it’s getting late. Let’s get to our stations and aim to finish filming all the scenes in this small building tonight! Once we return, we’ll edit and wrap it up. Everyone, to your stations!"
The staff, hearing this, quickly got themselves ready.
After a round of makeup, the caras and lights were focused on Chen Qian, who began reciting her rehearsed hosting script. Step by step, she led the crew through each corner of the eerie building.
They kept at it for over an hour.
The first section of filming was finally done.
Exhausted, Chen Xue sat to the side to rest, while Director Lu imdiately moved in front of the cara screen to review the footage. As he watched, he nodded approvingly at the results of the shoot.
But when the cara panned up to the second floor of the building, the image suddenly beca inexplicably blurry, causing Director Lu to frown.
"What’s going on? What’s wrong with the caraman?" Director Lu slamd his thigh in frustration and shouted angrily at the blurry footage.
"This... I don’t know! It wasn’t like this earlier!" The man in charge of planning imdiately explained.
"It wasn’t like this? Then why is the footage blurry now? The cara must have been shaking! Where’s the caraman? Call him over!" Director Lu demanded furiously.
The man nodded and turned around to shout for the caraman.
But after shouting for a long ti, nobody responded. This made Director Lu even angrier.
"What’s the matter? Did he think he could just hide if he did a poor job? Where’s the caraman? Does he even want this job?" Director Lu spat, his gaze sweeping across the crew.
Yet he found that most of them looked confused; no one had seen the caraman anywhere.
This prompted Director Lu to ask in bewildernt, "Has anyone seen the caraman?"
"Director Lu, when I ca down from the second floor earlier, I still saw him. He might have gone to the restroom," said the makeup artist, who was friendly with the caraman.
"Restroom? Lazy slobs always find excuses! Dock his pay when he gets back!"
Director Lu snapped at the makeup artist before turning to the planner and saying, "Planner, you should..."
Before he finished his sentence, Director Lu froze.
Because the planner, who had been standing right beside him monts ago, had vanished.
Looking around the room, Director Lu angrily shouted again, "Where’s the planner? Did anyone see him? Makeup artist, did you see?"
"?"
The makeup artist shook his head and replied, "I didn’t see him. Wasn’t the planner beside you just now?"
"He was! This is strange. Could he have gone to the restroom too?"
Director Lu frowned deeply, baffled.
Just then, his gaze caught sight of a pale, bone-white hand abruptly appearing behind the makeup artist. The hand tightly grabbed the makeup artist’s neck and dragged him into the darkness without a sound.
The entire process was swift. The makeup artist didn’t even have ti to cry out for help before he disappeared.
"Ghost! There’s a ghost!"
Director Lu scread at the top of his lungs.
Ghost?
The crew heard his cry and imdiately turned their attention to where the makeup artist had been standing. But the spot was now completely empty—nothing there.
Everyone had seen the makeup artist talking to Director Lu just seconds ago, yet he vanished without a trace. Coupled with Director Lu’s scream, the realization sent chills through everyone in the room.
"Director... Director Lu, where did the makeup artist go? What did you just see?" asked a man with a relatively stout heart.
"I saw a ghost!" cried Director Lu. "Just now, it grabbed the makeup artist and dragged him away!"
"A ghost?"
The man, upon hearing this, imdiately shone the lights more brightly toward the darkness—but still found nothing.
Yet at that mont, he felt soone grab his collar. Turning abruptly, he was greeted by a horrifyingly pale face that etched itself into his eyes.
"Ghost! A ghost!"
The man scread, leaping backward in terror, but a pale hand gripped his collar tightly and began dragging him toward the shadows.
This ti, all eyes were on him. Everyone could see clearly: the figure grabbing the man was a person dressed in ancient official robes, with disheveled hair. His face, however, was unnaturally pale and bore long, blood-stained fangs.
The ghastly sight sent everyone’s hearts racing, their collective screams filling the air.
"Ghost! It’s really a ghost!"
"Oh my god, run!"
"The ghost’s going to eat us! Don’t eat ! Please don’t eat !"
The entire building descended into chaos in an instant.
But desperation soon overtook them.
Because the vampiric figure stood right at the building’s exit.
In other words, there was no way out!
anwhile, the man caught by the ghost was already hoisted by the neck, his mouth wide open, unable to utter a single sound. He flailed desperately, his eyes brimming with sheer terror.
The ghost smiled sinisterly, then sank his fangs into the man’s neck in one brutal bite.
Instantly, the man convulsed several tis, his eyes rolling back, motionless. His entire body was drained of blood, reduced to shreds by the ghost.
The horrific bloodbath left Director Lu and the others completely petrified. They shuddered and huddled toward the corner, as though the solid walls might protect them.
Regret washed over them—regret for not heeding Ye Fei’s warning earlier. Their stubborn insistence on entering the building had brought them face-to-face with this horrifying Evil Spirit!
"Heh heh heh! Who’s next?"
The ghost scanned the trembling crew, finally settling his gaze on the quivering Chen Xue. He let out an eerie laugh and said, "Good blood—you’re next!"
Upon hearing this, Chen Qian trembled even more violently and tried to escape.
But how could she outrun a ghost?
With a whoosh, the ghost was beside Chen Qian, extending his claw downward.
"Brother Ye, save !"
Chen Qian cried out in terror as she stared at the ghostly claw.
At that critical mont, a streak of black light flashed past, causing the ghost to furrow his brows and leap back in uncertainty.
A young man dressed in black, wielding a blade, stood expressionlessly between Chen Qian and the ghost.
On the floor lay five blood-red sharp claws, evidently severed from the ghost’s hand!
