What is that?

Is that the title of a strong person?

When God Gu heard this, he didn’t know how many thoughts raced through his mind.

But before he could ask, Yang Tian let out a cold snort, both hands unleashing a devouring force that rcilessly engulfed the body of the maggot, consuming it until not a trace remained.

At that very mont, the surrounding black-and-white space suddenly vanished. Though it was still dim, it no longer felt as oppressive as before, where one couldn’t even see their fingers in front of them.

Apparently, Poison God had previously used his abilities to darken this place.

Now that he was dead, the cave naturally returned to normal.

Glancing at the mysterious artifact in his hand and then at Ji Yanran, who stood not far away with a worried expression, Yang Tian smiled and clasped her hand gently. "Let’s go!"

"Go? Where to?" Ji Yanran asked in a daze. Evidently, she hadn’t recovered from the intense battle with the Nascent Soul monster earlier.

Hearing her words, Yang Tian simply smiled. "Ho."

...

"What?" Who did you say died?

In a tranquil valley within China’s Kunlun Mountain, hidden in the world, was the Ancient Wu School’s Xuantian Sect.

At this mont, the Emperor of the Heavenly Kingdom, who presided over the Taoists, was angrily glaring at Deng Bingqiu, who was kneeling before him.

But Deng Bingqiu was trembling as he looked toward Taoist Hee Chong and muttered, "Yes... it’s Wu Hao!"

"Haowu?"

Upon hearing this news, he imdiately beca enraged.

As the clan leader of the Xuantian Sect, he never imagined that the Sect’s first expedition would end like this. Not only had Elder Deng Bingqiu returned injured, but even Haowu—destined to erge from seclusion as a ready Nascent Soul disciple—had perished?

His face instantly darkened as he demanded, "What exactly happened?"

"It’s... it’s like this..."

Deng Bingqiu appeared distressed and started trembling uncontrollably.

Although they both wielded divine powers, Deng Bingqiu clearly recognized the imnse gap between himself and Yang Tian. Back when Hee Chongdao was rely Acquired, he had already imrsed himself in the Divine Realm for years.

This great chasm, while Deng Bingqiu didn’t want to admit it, was not unlike the disparity between himself and Yang Tian—perhaps even greater!

However, Hee Chongdao interrupted him sharply once again. "Speak!"

Crack!

In an instant, an overwhelming force swept through the Xuantian Sect’s gates, causing the bricks under Deng Bingqiu’s knees to shatter entirely.

Trembling at the sight, Deng Bingqiu dared not hide anything further. He quickly opened his mouth and recounted all that had transpired with the Ji Family.

Listening to this, all the other Heavenly Kingdom disciples furrowed their brows.

After Deng Bingqiu’s explanation, Master Zhao asked, "Elder Deng, does such a person truly exist in this world? Did you see it with your own eyes?"

"Yes! Elder Deng, you are a formidable god! In the Ancient Wu School’s secular world, the Five Ways have long withered. It is said that divine spirits are legends of worldly martial arts. How could there possibly be such a person?"

"What? Only eighteen years old? How young is that? Truly unbelievable! But they’re all from an acquired kingdom, as well."

Other elders voiced their opinions too.

Hearing this, Deng Bingqiu was at a loss for words.

In truth, even he was perplexed. Thus, he turned his gaze to ask Hee Chongdao directly, "Master, do you think there are no other sects that..."

"Makes no difference!"

Hee Chongdao cut Deng Bingqiu off with a snort, declaring coldly, "Anyone who kills my Xuantian Sect disciples is unforgivable!"

"Yang Tian, stop running! Face in hell!"

Seeing Yang Tian show no intention of fleeing, Wang Tian let out a sinister laugh, and in his hands, purple light suddenly coalesced into dozens of massive violet serpents.

This was Wang Tianrui’s most powerful attack since their first battle in the Forbidden City.

"Be careful!"

Ji Yanran’s expression shifted with worry as she saw the serpents lunge toward Yang Tian. Her alarm was so intense that she didn’t dare keep her eyes open to watch.

Yet Yang Tian remained still—just as before. He didn’t hasten to evade, nor did he summon the Magic Fla Armor onto himself.

Instead, he simply gazed at Wang Tianrui and said softly, "Enough!"

"From the beginning, you were no match for . And now, not even as a specter."

Splurt!

As he spoke, Yang Tian suddenly crushed the black beetle in his hand with terrifying ease, causing it to explode instantly.

The purple light Wang Tian had gathered, approaching Yang Tian, suddenly froze as his body stiffened unnaturally. Then, he passed through Yang Tian directly.

In the very mont he passed, it was as if he were a fragile soap bubble pierced—a mont later, he was entirely gone.

Witnessing Wang Tian’s disappearance, the remaining spirits froze in shock, struggling to comprehend the sudden vanishing act.

But Yang Tian didn’t wait for them to process it. Instead, he raised one hand again, forming a black vortex in his palm as he coldly commanded, "Devour!"

Whoosh!

A second black beetle was forcefully extracted from the shadows and sucked into the vortex in Yang Tian’s hand. The vortex crushed it with overwhelming force.

Even Asakura Daisuke, standing closest to Yang Tian, froze in place just as Wang Tianrui did and passed by unnaturally stiffly.

Following them, the Evil God Kate, the Lion King Leonids, and other black beetles were also sucked out, one by one pulled toward Yang Tian and vanishing from existence as if they had never been.

Within monts, when Ji Yanran once again opened her eyes, all the deceased spirits had disappeared. Standing opposite Yang Tian was only the Demon God himself, his face alight with surprise.

"How did you uncover the secret of death?"

The Poison God looked pale and stared closely at Yang Tian.

It was just like he had said before.

In over three hundred years of cultivation, he had never encountered an opponent like Yang Tian—soone with strength even greater than his own.

Yet all his previous adversaries had ultimately been devoured by him, step by step allowing him to ascend to the Nascent Soul realm. All of it was thanks to the Death Poison Fog.

Death Maggots could awaken all the dead enemies in one’s mories and make them just as formidable as they had been in life. Most crucially, those specters couldn’t be killed.

Thus, once the Death Poison Fog was dispersed by the Poison God, it ant certain death for the enemy.

But now, even as Yang Tian initially found himself at a disadvantage, he had managed to withstand it. This made the Poison God suspect Yang Tian had uncovered the truth of life and death.

The truth was this: each specter of the dead was ford from maggots spewed forth by the black fog. Once those maggots were destroyed, the specters would instantly vanish!

But in this pitch-black void, where one couldn’t even see their extended hand, distinguishing the maggots from their surroundings should have been almost impossible.

How on earth had Yang Tian discovered it?

Hearing the Poison God’s question, Yang Tian smiled faintly and replied, "Because you talk too much."

"Talk too much? What do you an?" the Poison God pressed.

Yang Tian didn’t answer further.

So secrets, he vowed, were things he’d never share—even with those closest to him.

That was the will of the devouring spirit!

When Yang Tian first fell into the Death Poison Fog, he had no clue how to deal with it and was thus at a disadvantage.

But the Poison God shouldn’t have revealed to Yang Tian that this was called Death Poison.

While no remains of Death God’s spells existed, that didn’t an Yang Tian hadn’t already absorbed knowledge from the devouring spirit’s seventy-two lethal techniques. This type of ability was a frightening killing art all on its own!

After comprehending the Death Poison Fog’s setup, Yang Tian simply cross-referenced it with knowledge drawn from the devouring spirit’s mory and found the solution!

"Talk too much?"

Hearing Yang Tian’s answer, the Poison God’s face twisted uncontrollably.

He couldn’t understand what Yang Tian ant, nor could he judge if Yang Tian was bluffing. But it didn’t matter. "Fine! Whether or not you tell , once I devour you, all your secrets will beco mine, and I’ll know everything!"
