Li Xu sneered upon hearing this and replied with disdain, "Anyone can tell he’s just a bumpkin, a countryside kid! It’s normal for him to have good stamina, isn’t that right, Master Sun?"
"Haha, Mr. Li, you’re not wrong!"
Master Sun nodded slightly with a laugh. "I’ve been observing them for a while now. That man and woman are both ordinary people, no threat at all. Even if they harbor any sches, in the face of absolute strength, all tricks are aningless! So, Miss Su, you can relax!"
"I’ll count on you then, Master Sun!"
Hearing this, Su Mai felt significantly reassured.
The purpose of her Lingshan trip this ti was to acquire sothing that was vital to her family’s fate.
Failure was not an option.
What she did not know, however, was that Ye Fei was a cultivator in the middle-stage Foundation Establishnt, his strength far beyond what Master Sun could fathom.
While Su Mai and her team discussed amongst themselves, Ye Fei and Youu Cancan, though unable to hear them, could still observe their expressions.
"What are they staring at! Definitely no good intentions, especially that vile woman. Isn’t that right, Ye Fei?" Youu Cancan pouted unhappily.
"Maybe," Ye Fei responded absently.
Youu Cancan noticed his distracted deanor and asked curiously, "What are you thinking about?"
"Thinking?" Ye Fei smiled faintly. "I’m just thinking, as the sky darkens, certain things should soon make an appearance."
Appear?
Hearing this, Youu Cancan’s face instantly turned pale. Hastily, she unfolded her Lingshan topographic map and checked it, noticing they were less than a hundred ters away from where the tiger monster had attacked people.
She imdiately got nervous and asked, "Ye... Ye Fei, are you saying... are you talking about that ghost?"
"Exactly! The aura here differs significantly from earlier. But since the sun has yet to fully set, ordinary people won’t sense it. Once the sun goes down, those ghosts will undoubtedly erge!"
With a smile, Ye Fei crossed his legs and closed his eyes in ditation.
To him, the faint demonic energy he had sensed confird his earlier deductions.
Since his target was so close, there was no need to move; he would simply wait.

As darkness enveloped the sky, a sudden gust of chilling wind swept through the area, followed by piercing howls from all directions.
Hearing the howls, Su Mai’s face lit up with excitent. She turned to Master Sun and asked, "Is it here?"
"Haha, indeed, Miss Su! It’s arrived. Now we can lay our trap, and I’m confident it will fall right into our hands shortly!" Master Sun replied with a grin.
At his words, Su Mai imdiately gestured to the bodyguards behind her.
The bodyguards quickly moved to set up traps around the area.
One of them, after finishing his task, glanced toward Yang Tian and Youu Cancan, who seed oblivious to the looming danger. Hesitating, he asked, "Miss, should we warn them?"
"They’re just guides. The mission is our priority. Focus on your own work," Su Mai replied coldly.
"Miss Su! That tiger monster has hard so many people without fail; it must have developed so spiritual intelligence. Leaving them there could act as bait!" Master Sun said with a chuckle.
"Bait? I wouldn’t mind using that guy as bait, but it’s a pity about the girl!" Li Xu added with a sly smile.
His tone, however, was completely devoid of sympathy and filled with contemptuous mockery.
To both Su Mai and Li Xu, who were born into powerful families, achieving their goals was paramount.
To them, others were nothing more than pawns to be exploited.
Now that Ye Fei and Youu Cancan had no further use, they cared nothing for their survival.
As Su Mai’s group proceeded to act, their behavior did not escape Youu Cancan’s notice.
Despite being the Sect Leader of the Thief Sect, Youu Cancan only had so light-footed techniques to her na.
Beyond that, she was just an ordinary person, and she quickly beca anxious.
Seeing this, Ye Fei chuckled lightly. "Alright, stop watching them. Even if you keep staring, they won’t change their plan to use us as bait!"
"Use us as bait?!" Youu Cancan exclaid in shock.

Youu Cancan couldn’t understand how Ye Fei remained so calm. "They’re exploiting us, and you’re not angry?" she asked, puzzled.
"Angry? Why would I be? If they’re exploiting us, am I not also using them? Sit tight—nothing will happen to you as long as you’re by my side!" Ye Fei reassured her, again closing his eyes as if completely oblivious to the movents of the bodyguards around him.
The sight of Ye Fei’s complete indifference drew sneers from the bodyguards.
Li Xu laughed mockingly and said, "Just a bumpkin, clueless even now. If he dies, he deserves it. At least as bait, his death will have so worth."
"Enough nonsense! All I care about is whether the item I’m after has appeared yet!"
Su Mai interrupted, turning her gaze to Master Sun.
Master Sun nodded slightly and tilted his head, listening intently.
Monts later, his finger shot forward as he lowered his voice. "It’s here!"
It’s here?
Upon hearing this, Su Mai imdiately looked in the direction Master Sun had indicated. A gust of fierce wind swept past, and from the woods, two creatures—a grotesque mix of tiger and man—erged, roaring furiously.
"Open fire!"
One of the bodyguards shouted in a panic the mont he saw the monsters, prompting the team to unload bullets in a flurry of muzzle flashes.
Watching this, Li Xu smirked. "Ha! Master Sun, you said these creatures had spiritual intelligence, but they don’t seem so clever. Charging straight into gunfire? Cousin, our mission might already be complete!"
Feeling triumphant, Li Xu swaggered forward to inspect the creatures’ corpses.
Curious, Youu Cancan also wanted to approach, but Ye Fei’s voice stopped her cold. "He’s seeking death—do you want to as well?"
Seeking death?
Youu Cancan froze upon hearing this.
And in that mont, chaos erupted!
Suddenly, streaks of bloody light flashed through the air, followed by agonized screams.
Four bodyguards in front of Li Xu collapsed to the ground, severed at the waist.
Staring at the beasts standing unhard before him, blood dripping from their glowing red claws, Li Xu found himself frozen in terror as their talons swung toward him.
