“Then what are we waiting for?” Alien Beast Taihao suppressed its excitent and said eagerly, “While we have this opportunity, the three of us should go in together, coordinate with the spatial lifeform, and take down the Neutron War Star.”
Specter Taihao and Technology Taihao directly ignored Alien Beast Taihao’s suggestion and paid it no mind at all.
“Who do you think will ultimately win this war?” Specter Taihao asked.
After a brief silence, Technology Taihao answered, “I do not know. The intelligence on hand is insufficient. The spatial lifeform’s thod of attack, its defensive capability, as well as the Neutron War Star’s counterasures and so on, I know none of it clearly. But I have an intuition. I think that at this mont the two sides are roughly evenly matched. To decide victory or defeat will likely take a very long ti. Hm… at least three hundred years.”
“Then, do we take action?” Specter Taihao asked.
“Wait a bit longer,” Technology Taihao replied. “There are so things I still have not figured out. I am working hard to collect data. Once I finish this task, we will then decide whether to act.”
“Alright,” Specter Taihao replied sowhat helplessly.
The place grew quiet once more. The three Taihao Civilizations that had arrived stealthily showed no movent or intent, as if they were rely simple spectators. Yet in secret, who knew how many considerations and tradeoffs, how many sches, were coursing rapidly.
“I have more or less figured out the spatial lifeform’s thod of attack. By so unknown ans, it has confined the Neutron War Star within a zero-dinsional world. The zero-dinsional world is striving to assimilate the Neutron War Star, attempting to make the Neutron War Star a part of itself. But as an extre stellar body, a neutron star has an exceedingly high density, and correspondingly its unit energy is all the stronger. Therefore this zero-dinsional world has been unable to assimilate the Neutron War Star for the ti being. The Neutron War Star, for its part, is striving to break through the constraints of this zero-dinsional world and return once more to the three-dinsional main universe. Simply put, the spatial lifeform’s thod of attack this ti is similar to the weapon it used in the previous clash with the Neutron War Star. Both are dinsionality-reduction weapons. It is just that last ti it reduced it to two dinsions, and this ti it is reduced to zero dinsions.”
“What are the odds of victory?” Specter Taihao asked imdiately.
“Roughly… fifty-fifty. This is only a conclusion based on the intelligence currently available. After I obtain more intelligence, this conclusion may still change,” Technology Taihao answered, then continued to peer into the mysteries on the distant battlefield.
“What strikes as very odd is that I cannot find the energy source for the dinsionality-reduction weapon. As an existence at the level of a Level 6 civilization that has initially grasped space, my understanding of space, though inferior to that of the spatial lifeform, should not be so poor that I cannot even find their energy source. This is very strange, very strange indeed.”
“Hm. So that is how it is. I have found its energy source. So that is how it is… Using the dozen or so surrounding stars to construct such a zero-dinsional space, using the energy of these stars to suppress the Neutron War Star… What a grand undertaking. But I find it puzzling. Would this be sothing the spatial lifeform could accomplish? It should not have that capability. Otherwise, why was it almost killed last ti?”
“What is it? Have you made so new discovery?” Specter Taihao hurriedly asked.
“I have found the spatial lifeform’s energy source… I judge that this energy source is unstable. Therefore now the odds between the Neutron War Star and the spatial lifeform are sixty to forty. The Neutron War Star has a sixty percent chance of winning.”
“Then, do we take action?” Specter Taihao asked.
Technology Taihao fell silent. Only after several hours did it give an answer. “Take action. We cannot allow the situation to continue developing like this.”
“I have been waiting for this mont for a long ti!” Alien Beast Taihao cheered. Its colossal body moved and imdiately entered curvature space, racing toward the central battlefield. But it had only sustained curvature space flight for an instant before being forced to exit curvature space due to interference from Specter Taihao. Sowhat puzzled, it asked, “Specter, why are you stopping ?”
“What are you going there to do?” Specter Taihao asked with so anger.
“To help the spatial lifeform deal with the Neutron War Star,” Alien Beast Taihao answered in so bewildernt. “The Neutron War Star is right there, so how else are we supposed to deal with it?”
“Who told you to deal with the Neutron War Star?” Technology Taihao’s transmitted ssage carried a chill. “We are going to help the Neutron War Star against the spatial lifeform. The Neutron War Star cannot be destroyed here, cannot be destroyed by the spatial lifeform. It must continue to exist and maintain peak combat power. It must be destroyed by Xiao Yu with his own hands. Only then can our Taihao Alliance receive the favor of the unseen’s blessing of fortune and be promoted to a Level 7 civilization. Since we already know the spatial lifeform’s thod of obtaining energy, cutting off its energy supply will be a simple matter. Specter, you go destroy Star Number Three. Alien Beast, you go destroy Star Number One. I will head to Star Number Two and destroy it. These are the three critical stars. As long as these three stars are destroyed, the spatial lifeform’s energy supply will be completely cut off. Alright, move out.”
“How absurd. Have we not always been enemies with the Neutron War Star? Have we not always been plotting to destroy the Neutron War Star? Yet at this perfect opportunity we are to help the Neutron War Star? I really do not get it… Never mind, I will stop thinking about it. Following Technology Taihao’s instructions will not be wrong.” Alien Beast Taihao gave its thinking organ a puzzled shake, then entered curvature flight, heading toward Star Number One.
After the three Taihao Civilizations vanished, a shadow slowly erged here once more. It was none other than Xiao Yu’s Specter companion. At this mont the body of the Specter companion had grown even more indistinct in color, nearing complete transparency.
“So that was their plan. Those three actually intend to help the Neutron War Star against the spatial lifeform. Truly hateful. Last ti I spent great effort and braved danger to lure the Arboreal Race Alien Beast to its death. This ti, even if two Arboreal Race Alien Beasts ca, it would be of no use.”
“I do not know whether the Taihao Alliance truly failed to discover that I am hiding here, or whether they discovered I am hiding here but chose to ignore . Yet I cannot shake the feeling that Technology Taihao’s words were directed at . It is truly baffling. Why must the Neutron War Star be eliminated by Xiao Yu? rely because you need the unseen’s blessing of fortune, you would have us bear such imnse danger?” The Specter companion thought with so resentnt, yet it had no ans to act.
At present, each of the nearby existences was stronger than it, no matter which one. The Specter companion knew its own limits. It did not dare approach the core of the war directly, nor did it have the courage to directly transmit a warning to the spatial lifeform. Moreover, even if the Specter companion gave early warning, it would be of no use. The spatial lifeform had clearly exerted itself to the limit and could no longer spare the energy to deal with anything else.
“Sadly, I have already saved you once, and I no longer have the ability to save you a second ti. I know there is so relationship between you and my Main Civilization, but I am very sorry. I truly have already done my utmost.” The Specter companion stayed quietly where it was, sensing the faint spatial fluctuations that constantly arrived from afar, its heart exceedingly desolate.
At this mont, the spatial lifeform’s body was still drifting in the cosmos. The white point of light at the center of its body was emitting a faint glow that ca and went, though it seed just a touch brighter than before. No one knew what the situation on the battlefield truly was at this mont.
Just then, a sudden change occurred. The Specter companion knew that the three stars exploded at the sa ti. Although the light from those stellar explosions had not yet traveled to where the Specter companion was, through certain faster-than-light detection thods, it nevertheless sensed these events in an instant.
What it sensed simultaneously with that was the situation at the center of the battlefield. The Specter companion felt that the spatial fluctuation representing the spatial lifeform’s existence suddenly weakened by a great deal, while the white point of light representing the Neutron War Star brightened in an instant. It was as if it were an electric bulb that previously had no power and now had power.
As its luminosity continued to rise, sothing special was occurring upon the body of the spatial lifeform. The Specter companion could clearly sense that the point which had originally been zero-dinsional suddenly extended its first dinsion. It acquired length and beca a line. Then gradually, it possessed width and thus beca a plane. After recovering from zero dinsions to two dinsions, the Specter companion seed to hear from the spatial lifeform a sound like tearing silk, as if so existence were being ripped apart. Then the Specter companion felt that the Neutron War Star had obtained its third dinsion.
It had fully recovered. Like a newborn sun leaping out from a sea of clouds, it once more began to radiate endless majesty and nace. In the instant it escaped, it suddenly ramd into the spatial lifeform before it, and the spatial lifeform’s body, at this mont, shattered like glass into countless pieces.
This ti, it finally failed to escape the Neutron War Star’s strike.
The Specter companion dumbly sensed all of this, its thoughts filled with loss. Yet at that very mont, a ssage was transmitted into its mind. “Take this fragnt and seek out your Main Civilization. After your Main Civilization reaches the category of a Level 6 civilization, with the aid of this fragnt, your Main Civilization may be able to research a two-dinsional weapon.”
“Little one, I know it was you who saved last ti. You deceived the Arboreal Race Alien Beast and made it my shield. You have already saved once, so you need not feel sad for being unable to save this ti.”
“I have failed my commissioner. I was unable to complete the commission. This is an unforgivable error. There is only one end for failing to complete a commission, and that is death. Yet I still feel very guilty in my heart. Therefore I will give you this fragnt of my body, hoping it can make your road in the future a bit smoother.”
“Do not worry. In the final mont of my death, I completely destroyed the rest of my body’s fragnts. So whether it is the Sweepers Civilization or any other existence, none will be able to analyze technology from fragnts of my body. Thus the two-dinsional weapon will be yours alone.”
“Farewell, little one. Go seek out your Main Civilization. If possible, when you are strong enough in the future, rember to avenge . Investigate clearly who destroyed those three stars, who cast , soone who had at least a forty percent chance of victory, into a pit of no return in an instant. Vengeance, rember to avenge .”
The spatial lifeform’s ssage began to break up and finally disappeared completely. The Specter companion knew that the spatial lifeform had utterly died, dissipating into this cosmic void.
“Alright, I will avenge you,” the Specter companion murmured to itself. “Now it is ti to seek out my Main Civilization and join with my Main Civilization.”
