A few minutes after Xiao Yu detected a Space Bridge approaching, the scenery within his own Space Bridge suddenly changed.

In the middle of the Space Bridge, a beam of light clearly not belonging to the interior of this bridge shone through. After undergoing various inversions and refractions within the Space Bridge, this beam spread almost instantly throughout the entire interior. This clearly ant the two Space Bridges had connected, producing a phenonon of intersecting light.

At that very mont, the Guardian Civilization launched its assault without hesitation. Xiao Yu saw several Planet-Class ships within that bridge, coordinating with several Continent-Class ships, suddenly unleash a space shattering attack. Instantly, a large swath of black phantoms appeared and shrouded Xiao Yu’s Space Bridge.

The space stabilization instrunts were operating at full power, stabilizing their own space to ensure it would not be destroyed by the enemy. At the sa ti, Xiao Yu’s ships also unleashed their strongest spatial attacks to sever the enemy Space Bridge.

As the Guardian Civilization’s spatial assault arrived, Xiao Yu’s space stabilization instrunts almost imdiately went into an overloaded state. Xiao Yu dared not be negligent. He imdiately redeployed more ships to entangle the enemy’s ships. The Space Bridge could not be cut. If it were severed, Xiao Yu would lose at least several million ships.

Fierce combat erupted in an instant. Because of the action of the space stabilization instrunts, the effects of spatial weapons were sowhat weakened, but the defensive power of both sides’ ships did not decrease. This produced an interesting phenonon. The target of both sides’ attacks was no longer the enemy’s ships, but space itself. After all, no matter which ship’s surrounding space was sliced off from the main universe to form a small universe, heat death would beco the most qualified executioner, destroying all things tangible and intangible.

Xiao Yu’s attacks successfully slowed the enemy’s attempt to break his Space Bridge. At least in the short term, the Guardian Civilization would not be able to cut it. But if one bomb could not demolish a great bridge, could it still blast off so fragnts from the bridge? Those fragnts were the micro small universes separated from the Space Bridge.

One of Xiao Yu’s Province-Class ships, separated by so distance from the main force and unable to receive tily support, faced the encirclent of more than a dozen County-Class ships and two City-Class ships of the Guardian Civilization. Under a sky full of spatial weapon attacks, it was finally separated from the Space Bridge. A new small universe ford and then rapidly underwent heat death. It was destroyed.

The sa happened on the Guardian side. A Guardian Civilization Continent-Class ship ca under attack from two of Xiao Yu’s Planet-Class ships. The space it occupied was completely scrambled by Xiao Yu’s space shattering attack. It too was separated and then destroyed.

Ships were like people walking on the surface of a bridge. The ships separated away were like people who accidentally fell from the bridge into the river. Those who fell into the river would drown. The ships that were separated would likewise be destroyed.

The battle proceeded in this brutal manner.

Xiao Yu’s second Space Bridge was under construction. Its scale was smaller than the first. The third and fourth Space Bridges were also being prepared in haste.

The battle within the first Space Bridge had ended. The final result was Xiao Yu losing over one million ships, destroying two hundred thousand Guardian ships, and completely severing the enemy’s Space Bridge. Calm returned within this bridge. It continued extending forward, advancing ceaselessly toward the Guardian Civilization’s small universe. The mont it touched the Guardian’s small universe would be the mont Xiao Yu launched a full offensive.

But Xiao Yu knew the Guardian Civilization would not yield so easily. In the illusory four-dinsional space, who knew how many concealed small Space Bridges were being laid. He could be attacked by the Guardians at any ti.

The second, third, and fourth Space Bridges also began to be laid. At this ti, on the first and third Space Bridges, Xiao Yu simultaneously ca under attack from the Guardian Civilization. This ti the Guardians seed fully prepared. Their Space Bridges were laid wide and sturdy. Large numbers of warships poured out in an unending stream and began lee engagents with Xiao Yu’s ships. Xiao Yu also adopted more asures, such as laying several temporary Space Bridges from the main universe end. Because of their small scale, these bridges could be laid extrely rapidly. Through such bridges, he transported forces to raid the Guardian rear. Sotis branches would even sprout from a larger Space Bridge, spreading through the illusory four-dinsional space like a plant’s rootlets, either opening alternative routes to approach the Guardian’s small universe or striking unexpectedly at the rear of a Guardian Space Bridge.

Thus the battle unfolded amid this chaos. By now, Xiao Yu had laid eight main Space Bridges and at least one thousand branch or temporary Space Bridges. The Guardian Civilization had laid even more Space Bridges, even more elusive, to counter Xiao Yu.

The scene at this mont resembled the tunnel warfare of Earth’s era. Tunnels crisscrossed everywhere. A large tunnel might connect to dozens of small tunnels. A small tunnel might belong to Xiao Yu or to the Guardians. Tunnels collapsed constantly, and new tunnels were constantly opened. A single step forward might et the enemy, or it might et an ally. Ships were continuously separated into small universes and then destroyed. Entire Space Bridges were continuously cut and then began drifting through four-dinsional space.

All one hundred million warships under Xiao Yu’s control entered the Space Bridges and took part in the fight against the Guardian Civilization. Xiao Yu’s ship attrition reached a staggering level. Almost every second, tens of thousands of ships were destroyed. Yet Xiao Yu did not hesitate in the least. If ten thousand ships were lost, one hundred thousand more waited outside the Space Gate to enter the Space Bridge and join the battle. If one hundred thousand were lost, a million waited outside.

Even if he had to pile up ships, he would kill his way into the Guardian Civilization’s small universe. That was Xiao Yu’s thought at this mont.

Such a brutal war ant little to Xiao Yu. At worst, it was only the loss of so ships. The large-scale shipyards in the rear were working at full power. At every mont ships were being built and added to Xiao Yu’s fleets. But for the Guardian Civilization, Xiao Yu believed it was absolutely not so easy.

The ships Xiao Yu had lost within the Space Bridges already exceeded fifty million. Of the eight main Space Bridges, five had been completely severed. The remaining three had each been cut at least three tis, but Xiao Yu had repaired them again. Those five were too badly damaged to be worth repairing.

Every ti a Space Bridge was cut, it ant the loss of at least one hundred thousand ships. Those one hundred thousand ships had no ti to exert their combat power before they were packaged and separated from the main universe, ultimately dying due to heat death.

At great cost, Xiao Yu finally pushed Space Bridge Number One to within less than ten thousand kiloters, in the four-dinsional direction, of the Guardian Civilization’s small universe. It was here that Xiao Yu encountered the fiercest resistance.

At least more than thirty Space Bridges spread over from the small universe’s side and rged into various locations along this bridge, launching ferocious attacks from every direction. At this ti, Xiao Yu had withdrawn all his forces from the other Space Bridges and concentrated everything into this one.

The most intense battle had begun. Countless ships fought to the death. There were even many instances where opposing ships were separated from the main universe together and then died together in heat death. After heat death, the ships of both sides would intermingle most thoroughly, never again distinguishing between one another.

Amid this fierce fighting, the end of the Space Bridge near the Guardian’s small universe was cut off once more. This cost Xiao Yu more than three hundred thousand ships and added another fifty thousand kiloters to the distance that needed to be laid. Xiao Yu was not discouraged. If it was cut by fifty thousand kiloters, he would lay it back, step by step.

This was a Space Bridge filled with the breath of death. Xiao Yu even felt it was more fitting to call it the Bridge of Death. Saying it was piled up with the wreckage of warships was not excessive at all. Xiao Yu had resolved that even if he had to pile it up with ships, he would pile it right into their small universe.

Under Xiao Yu’s ferocious offensive, regardless of the cost and regardless of casualties, the Space Bridge lengthened little by little, and the distance to the Guardian’s small universe shrank little by little. The Guardians’ resistance remained intense, yet given the present situation, it carried an air of helplessness.

In these circumstances, the Space Bridge finally spread to the Guardian Civilization’s small universe, and the two spaces connected. From this mont on, as long as the Space Bridge was not cut, Xiao Yu’s ships could stream endlessly and freely from the main universe into the Guardian Civilization’s small universe.

With the spatial barrier pierced, Xiao Yu’s fleets surged from this end of the Space Bridge like densely packed locusts, pouring from the Space Gate located within the Guardian’s small universe and entering the core territory of this pinnacle Level 6 Technological Civilization.
