Now reading: Chapter 723: Tianhuang Star from Rebirth of the Super Battleship, a Sci-fi novel by Rainbow Gate.

Compared to the first thod, the second thod of countering high-dinsional attacks was more difficult, but its power was also greater. Simply put, it was to anticipate in advance the direction of the temporary four-dinsional passage opened by the enemy’s high-dinsional attack, then open a small four-dinsional passage on one’s own side. The passage Xiao Yu opened did not need to be large, so long as it was sufficient to transport so specially made spatial bombs. Xiao Yu was fully capable of creating such a temporary passage in a short ti and sending specially made spatial bombs into the four-dinsional passage.

The energy released by this kind of spatial bomb would completely disrupt the spatial structure of the four-dinsional passage, and might even cause it to collapse outright. In that case, things would beco very interesting. First, the instrunt or spaceship attempting four-dinsional transmission would naturally be forced to abandon the transmission. Second, the chaotic space would likely generate a violent energy outburst. The intensity of this outburst would be very high. Xiao Yu had conducted relevant experints, and the conclusion was that if one of his ordinary Star-Class warships perford a four-dinsional transmission and then the four-dinsional passage was destroyed, that Star-Class warship would be completely destroyed by this raging energy. Only top-tier ships such as the Solar, Tianyuan IV, Polaris, and Sirius had the ability to barely withstand it.

It should be known that Xiao Yu’s technological strength was no longer what it once was. The Solar he had built was even more formidable than the Radiance, the forr flagship of the Guardian Civilization. If a ship with such outstanding performance could not withstand several instances of this energy spillover, then presumably even the Neutron War Star would be sowhat affected under such raging energy.

After this round of research succeeded, Xiao Yu began rapidly stockpiling these specially made spatial bombs and the instrunts capable of temporarily creating small four-dinsional passages. This round of construction took Xiao Yu more than two hundred years.

At this mont, there were only just over one hundred years left before the thousand-year appointnt. The war ga had already completed its mission. Through this ga, Xiao Yu had selected a large number of outstanding talents, about ten million in total. At this point, these ten million had left the ga and fully begun operating real warships. Xiao Yu allocated his computation power specifically to train them and give explanations, telling them what to pay attention to in a real interstellar war and what techniques there were.

In the war against the Sweepers Civilization, Xiao Yu would be responsible for operating five hundred million warships, and these ten million would be responsible for operating about nine and a half billion warships. Xiao Yu’s total participating force would reach ten billion warships.

Among these ten million, the two most outstanding were undoubtedly Yang Jianqi and Rose. Yang Jianqi and Rose each took command of a genuine Star-Class warship, and Xiao Yu also gave them the naming rights of these two top-tier Star-Class warships.

Yang Jianqi and Rose still used their own nas to na the two ships. From then on, the Star-Class Jianqi and the Star-Class Rose would no longer be re virtual data in a ga but living realities.

Among these ten million people, those qualified to operate a Star-Class warship numbered only a little over a dozen, and most of them only had the qualification to operate second-tier or third-tier Star-Class ships. The only ones qualified to operate top-tier Star-Class ships were these two.

Besides these two Star-Class warships, the two of them also respectively commanded eight million and six million ships in their attached fleets. These numbers were also ranked first and second, because only these two could command so many warships and bring out their strength. The remaining people commanded numbers ranging from several million down to a few ships. In short, the stronger the ability, the more advanced the warships operated and the greater their number.

These people were only responsible for operating the warships and did not need to worry about details. For example, Yang Jianqi only needed to issue an order, “Move the flagship to five hundred thousand kiloters from enemy Ship Number One, and the remaining warships accompany.” The subsequent matters would be completed by Xiao Yu. Yang Jianqi had no need to consider what principles the ships used, what materials they were made from, how the engines worked, and so on. Leave all of that to Xiao Yu.

Xiao Yu conducted rigorous training for these people, training not only their techniques but also their sense of the overall situation and their coordination with each other. Xiao Yu believed that in the process of confronting the Sweepers Civilization, these people would erupt with terrifying strength.

Ti continued to flow slowly. At this mont, there were twenty years left before the thousand-year appointnt. During this period, Xiao Yu comprehensively inspected his various defense systems and, after confirming that all counterasures and response thods were infallibly in place, began to wait quietly.

The comprehensive inspection consud another dozen years. Now there was only a very short ti left before the Sweepers’ arrival.

Xiao Yu waited quietly.

The two most powerful groups in the Milky Way were about to engage in a life-and-death duel. This duel would determine who would be the master of the galaxy in the future. It would certainly be an earth-shattering war. It seed as if the stars of the galaxy were affected by this war. As the great battle was about to begin, a naless heaviness spread quietly through the dark starry sky, like the breath before a storm.

At this mont, on a life-bearing planet nearly ten thousand light years from Xiao Yu’s base, so lifeforms of varied and peculiar appearances were shuttling about. So were flying at high speed in the sky, much faster than the supersonic planes of Earth’s era. So were sprinting rapidly on the ground. So even traversed space itself, surviving in outer space with rely their physical bodies. There was no doubt they possessed powerful strength. According to Xiao Yu’s classification of Alien Beasts, the individual strength of these lifeforms had reached the peak of Level 4 Alien Beast. This ant that destroying a planet was only a matter of ti for them. The most important point was that this group was nurous, about thirty thousand in total.

Thirty thousand peak Level 4 Alien Beasts gathered together ford a very large combat power. Even Xiao Yu would be slightly troubled facing such power. If it had been before advancing to a Level 6 civilization, or even after defeating the Level 5 Civilization Alliance, Xiao Yu would have suffered a miserable defeat against them.

On a mountain peak of this life-bearing planet sat an Alien Beast that looked like a human woman from Earth. She had delicate features, a serene yet lively temperant, and a slender, graceful figure. If Xiao Yu had seen her, he would definitely have been astonished, because this person’s appearance was simply a replica of that Earth girl, Zhang Shengya.

The mountain wind blew past her, tossing her garnts about. It was already nightti. She sat quietly atop the mountain, gazing at the black, star-studded night sky without saying a word.

A massive warship hovered quietly beside her. The ship was sowhat old, yet generally still intact, and clearly still capable of spaceflight and combat. This ship bore the distinctive construction style of the Divine Ark Civilization. It was a City-Class ship.

“Brother Xiao Yu… you left like this and for tens of thousands of years you have never returned. Do you know how much Lorna misses you? I have always lived here in the appearance of the girl you liked most, only hoping that when you return, you can see at first glance. The warship you left for our Arrow Beast clan has been preserved perfectly. It is the only thing you left behind for us. I can only express my longing for you through it. When will I be able to see you again?” This Alien Beast with a human appearance murmured to herself, and sothing like tears slid down her cheeks.

[T/N: The author made a mistake here, in chapter 163 the Alien Beast transforms into Chen Mo not Zhang Shengya. Chen Mo is the one he loves not Zhang Shengya, he had only just discovered her body on the Arrow Beast’s planet during those chapters. I won’t change this in case the author made a retroactive change or sothing.]

“Leader, why are you still here?” At this ti, another Arrow Beast flew over and asked in a low voice.

Lorna gently shook her head, keeping her gaze fixed on the sky, watching the black night and the endless stars. She spoke slowly, “I do not know why, but I sense a certain heaviness. The night sky still looks the sa as before, yet I always feel sothing is not right. It is as if the person dearest to you is preparing to go to war, to fight a battle whose life and death are uncertain. My heart simply cannot calm down, and I do not know why.”

“Leader, do not think so much. The night sky is beautiful, but the universe beyond it is dangerous. Our Arrow Beast clan should guard our holand and live peacefully. The dangerous starry universe is not a place for us.” the other Arrow Beast advised.

Lorna again gently shook her head. “I understand. You go back first. I will stay here alone for a while.”

Seeing that his persuasion was ineffective, the Arrow Beast could only depart with a light sigh. Lorna still sat there quietly, gazing at the night sky. In the night sky, the endless stars seed to sketch the silhouette of a person.

“Brother Xiao Yu, is that you? Are you preparing to fight an enemy? Who is your enemy?”

anwhile, in another direction from Xiao Yu’s base, within a star system about eight thousand light years away, busy fleets were shuttling back and forth without pause. These fleets transported shiploads of materials from afar, gathering them continuously onto a terrestrial planet within the system.

On this terrestrial planet, a large number of robots and intelligent beings were active. They were installing a great many instrunts, and so giant machines were conducting terrain modification. They were flattening mountains, opening valleys, digging riverbeds and lakes. The planet was still extrely desolate, but certain areas already showed signs of life. Harmful substances in its atmosphere were being eliminated, and the proportion of gases beneficial to life was gradually increasing. Seeds capable of withstanding extre environnts were planted on its surface. Large blocks of icy cots transported from space were dropped into depressions on the planet. Under the star’s illumination they lted, releasing vast amounts of water that ultimately gathered into an ocean. Certain hardy aquatic plants and animals slowly grew within these seas.

Though desolate and harsh, it was being slowly changed. Sothing called hope was growing upon it. Obviously, a civilization was transforming this planet.

In space, inside a Nation-Class ship, an intelligent being watched this planet before him full of hope. Judging from his attire and the attitudes of the other intelligent beings around him, he was certainly a leader.

If Xiao Yu saw him, he would imdiately recognize him. This person was the new leader of the fleeing Pegasus Civilization, the one who, under Xiao Yu’s arrangent, had once had a long conversation with Ares.

Now he was in high spirits, sweeping away his forr heaviness. Anyone who saw him would feel that this person possessed abundant energy, decisiveness, and strong executive ability.

A nearby attendant said, “Leader, the transformation of Life One is proceeding smoothly. At most a hundred more years and we can settle there. Our Pegasus Civilization will end its wandering and once again possess a howorld.”

The leader nodded with great satisfaction. “Very good, very good. Continue to accelerate construction. At the sa ti, do not cease exploration of the surrounding stars and planets in this star system. Although we do not now have the ability to develop several planets simultaneously, we do have the ability to scout in advance and lay the groundwork for future transformation. Our Pegasus Civilization will surely regain its forr glory. We will possess a vast territory spanning several hundred light years.”

“All for our civilization.” the attendant said respectfully.

“All for our civilization.” the leader responded with great solemnity.

If Xiao Yu had seen these fleets of the Pegasus Civilization, he would have known that this fleeing civilization had fully restored its technological strength to its forr peak, and even gone further. They already possessed spatial fluctuation weapons, clearly a sign of having initially grasped space and a harbinger of imminent entry into a Level 6 civilization.

Barring accidents, this civilization was certain to beco a Level 6 civilization. As for what experiences and adventures they had had while groping and voyaging ceaselessly in the dark universe during this period, Xiao Yu did not know. Yet he knew those experiences and adventures must have been soul-stirring. This was the story of a civilization hacking its way through thorns amid constant crises and perils, growing all the way until it finally reached the harvest season.

The attendant had already withdrawn, but the leader seed to sense sothing suddenly. He moved his gaze from the planet under construction and looked toward the distant, profound depths of the universe.

“It seems sothing is about to happen.” he murmured. “I can feel it.”

The cosmic starry sky before him was dark and beautiful, deep and remote, emanating a fatal, enchanting allure. He stared blankly at the stars and said softly, “Could it be you? Divine Ark Civilization… are you about to begin your war with the Sweepers Civilization?”

At this mont, on a life-bearing planet within a star system less than twelve hundred light years from Xiao Yu’s base, many humanoid intelligent beings were busy.

They wore crudely made clothes and used simple tools. Yet they already possessed a considerable degree of intelligence. They had even built massive city walls to protect their safety, and they possessed tal armor and weapons for warfare.

This was a vibrant life-bearing planet where intelligent beings who had just entered the early stage of civilization lived. They had simple order and crude laws to protect the interests of the majority. Most intelligent beings could already avoid the threats of other wild beasts on this planet and concentrate on improving their living conditions.

In the most prosperous city on this planet, within a towering palace complex, a person dressed far more splendidly than the rest stumbled in. He was imdiately stopped by the guards, but the obstruction was symbolic. It seed the guards knew his identity.

“Grand Preceptor, you cannot enter. His Majesty has commanded that he must reflect in silence at this ti and ponder what he has done that has angered the Great Creator God.”

“Out of my way. I have an urgent matter to report to His Majesty, an urgent matter…” The man seed half-mad, repeating the sa words over and over. He pushed the guards aside roughly. One guard hurried into the palace complex to make a report, and only then did the rest of the guards reluctantly let him pass.

He finally burst into the most luxurious palace, fell to his knees, and spoke in panic to the intelligent being seated high upon the throne that symbolized power, “Your Majesty, Your Majesty, it is bad. Tianhuang Star has also disappeared. It suddenly vanished from the night sky. This is the thousandth star to suddenly disappear from the night sky in the past ten years. A full one thousand stars have disappeared just like this.”

“Tianhuang Star has disappeared as well…” The voice of the intelligent being upon the throne began to tremble. “Tianhuang Star is our nation’s principal star, the symbol of the Heavenly Father. Why would it disappear… Could it be that the Great Heavenly Father, the Creator God, truly intends to leave us?”

After a mont, he stood up without a word and walked to the rear of the palace. Behind the palace there was a colossal statue. He knelt before it, prostrated himself, and began to pray. “Great Creator God, what have we done wrong that you are removing the stars of the night sky one by one… Are you punishing us?”

The statue he worshiped was in the shape of a spaceship, and it bore an intensely obvious Divine Ark Civilization construction style.

A powerful emotion of unease completely shrouded this preliminary civilization.
