Xiao Yu had never imagined that after arriving in the Androda Galaxy, he would encounter such things. First he was inexplicably appointed as the Sweepers Civilization, and now he had received a ssage claiming to be issued by the Guardian Civilization.
After confirming that the Guardian Civilization was indeed sending its ssage using spatial broadcast, a Level 6 Civilization technology, Xiao Yu could not help but feel a sense of absurdity.
“In a galaxy that has both a Sweepers Civilization and a Guardian Civilization, it is almost impossible for the other civilizations to coexist peacefully with those two. In other words, once a civilization becos a Level 7 Civilization, it is unlikely to let these two civilizations that have suppressed it for so long continue to exist. Just like . In the Milky Way Galaxy, once I beca a quasi-Level 7 Civilization, I destroyed both the Guardian Civilization and the Sweepers Civilization. Does that an that in the Androda Galaxy, a Level 7 Civilization has yet to appear? Hmm… so that is how it is.”
At that mont, Xiao Yu rembered the Microscopic Civilization that had tried to persuade him to spare the Guardian Civilization and the Sweepers Civilization. He thought for a while and confird his speculation.
“It is highly likely that Level 7 Civilizations have already appeared in the Androda Galaxy. It is just that, because of existences similar to the Microscopic Civilization, those Level 7 Civilizations have not wiped out the Guardian Civilization.”
“The Sweepers Civilization and the Guardian Civilization seem to be mortal enemies. Although both serve so unknown existence, that does not stop hatred from forming between them. The Guardian Civilization in the Androda Galaxy is without a doubt technologically weaker than I am, and I can easily obtain its location information. In that case, I might as well fulfill my responsibilities as the Sweepers Civilization and go destroy the Guardian Civilization. I will see what happens after I eliminate them…”
Xiao Yu sneered inwardly and imdiately settled on his next course of action. When it ca to a civilization of the Guardian type, he had no psychological burden at all about annihilating it.
“The Guardian Civilization’s current station is thirty thousand light years away from . At my present speed, I will need around one hundred fifty years to reach it. So, one hundred fifty years from now will be your doomsday, Guardians.”
The Androda Galaxy was a vast spiral galaxy, in contrast to the Milky Way Galaxy, which was a barred spiral. Androda also had several distinct spiral arms, and Xiao Yu’s current position was on Androda’s fourth arm. Here, he was about one hundred twenty thousand light years from the galaxy’s core.
Androda had two cores. According to speculation, this had been caused by a galaxy collision. The smaller core had originally been the core of another galaxy, and after colliding with Androda it had been left inside Androda. Its fate was to gradually spiral ever closer to Androda’s central black hole over an imnse span of ti, until the two rged into an even larger black hole.
After several billion years, the Androda Galaxy and the Milky Way Galaxy would also collide. The two galaxies would eventually rge into one. At that ti, the Milky Way’s core would face the sa outco. The central black hole of the Milky Way only had a mass of several million suns, while Androda’s central black hole was dozens of tis more massive.
Galaxy collisions would bring about a host of marvelous phenona. It signified the death of two old galaxies, and at the sa ti the birth of a newer, larger galaxy. During such a collision, because of the mutual disturbance of interstellar dust and gravity, a great many new stars would be ford. The entire galaxy would be full of vitality again, gaining a new lease on life.
Xiao Yu’s current position roughly corresponded to the Sun’s position relative to the Galactic Center in the Milky Way. The density of stars here was neither especially high nor particularly low. Xiao Yu could see around him many stars pouring out endless heat. Many stars had planets, and many planets had moons. Beyond these larger celestial bodies, there were dwarf planets, asteroids, cots, and so on. Many celestial bodies clustered together to form individual star systems with an exotic feel. Then these many star systems ca together to constitute the largest galaxy in this local group, the Androda Galaxy.
The dust cloud content of the Androda Galaxy was slightly lower than that of the Milky Way Galaxy. According to Xiao Yu’s estimates, in the Milky Way two or three stars were born each year, whereas in Androda only one star was born in the sa period. It seed that the birth of stars in Androda was sowhat more difficult. If that was so for ordinary stars, then the birth of short-lived, high-mass stars would be even harder. This ant that Androda was calr than the Milky Way, with fewer extre events such as supernova explosions. Even extre celestial bodies such as black holes and neutron stars would be relatively fewer.
Xiao Yu examined his surroundings and concluded that within a radius of one hundred light years around him, there were no celestial bodies such as black holes or neutron stars. The only extre object was a white dwarf, which ford a binary system together with a yellow dwarf similar to the Sun, and the two orbited each other.
As he rapidly approached the position of the Guardian Civilization that he had detected, Xiao Yu admired the strange scenery of this extragalactic world and also continued digesting his own technology. Striving to reach Level 7 Civilization was the main task, and nothing could be allowed to delay that process.
The Androda Galaxy might have Level 7 Civilizations, or it might not. Xiao Yu was not too concerned about this. He was now a Sweeper, and if those Level 7 Civilizations wanted to deal with him, they would at least have to show so restraint.
Xiao Yu’s mood was very relaxed. A new gate had opened before him, and he was about to step into a completely new world that he had never encountered before. As for the Guardian Civilization he had just run into, it was just a minor episode along the way.
During the long journey, Xiao Yu suddenly detected an unusual fluctuation ahead. It was a spatial fluctuation caused by curvature flight, and Xiao Yu recognized it at once.
“Up ahead, about a dozen light years away, there is a fleet performing curvature flight. Its speed is… one hundred thirty tis the speed of light. This is a Level 6 Civilization. So Androda is indeed rather prosperous. I have just arrived and casually run into a Level 6 Civilization.” Xiao Yu thought with mild amusent. “I might as well capture them first and get so information about the Androda Galaxy.”
Xiao Yu imdiately changed course and activated concealnt asures, heading toward the location of the spatial fluctuations he had detected. He was still an outsider, and capturing a native of this galaxy would help him understand the current situation.
A distance of a dozen light years was nothing much for two Level 6 Civilizations. After about half a month, Xiao Yu had arrived near this Level 6 Civilization’s fleet. Inside curvature space, he began to observe them. Thanks to his outstanding stealth technology, he was confident he had not been detected.
Before Xiao Yu was a sowhat battered fleet. It consisted of roughly more than four hundred thousand ships. Among these ships were habitation vessels, warships, logistics ships, supply ships, and engineering ships. The types of ships were quite complete, so it did not look like a specialist battle fleet, but rather like a civilization that was migrating. Many ships in the fleet were damaged, so even missing parts of their hulls. As they flew, sothing resembling smoke was trailing from them.
“Hmm… based on the information I have gathered so far, this fleet’s technological content is not very high. Traveling at one hundred thirty tis the speed of light, they are clearly beyond their limit. They look more like they are fleeing than undertaking a normal migration. Perhaps they have just gone through a war.” Xiao Yu thought.
After a brief mont of consideration, Xiao Yu quickly made his decision.
A fleet of about one million ships erged from the small universe, completely exposed in open space. Monts later, they entered curvature space and sped to a location ahead of the unknown fleet. At the sa ti, Xiao Yu sent a ssage. “I order you to imdiately exit curvature space and enter normal space to submit to our inspection. Those who refuse to obey will be destroyed.”
At this mont Xiao Yu’s overwhelming technological superiority was fully displayed. Yet the fleet did not stop. Xiao Yu saw that part of the fleet continued charging along its original path toward his own forces, and even before leaving curvature space they had already opened fire. The remaining part of the ships suddenly veered off in another direction, fleeing as fast as they could. During their escape, their speed actually rose again, from one hundred thirty tis the speed of light to one hundred thirty-five tis.
“One hundred thirty tis the speed of light was already over their limit, and now they have pushed it to one hundred thirty-five. How long can your engines last at that speed?” Xiao Yu thought with a hint of amusent. “And you actually dare to attack ?”
Xiao Yu launched his counterattack without hesitation. However, he did not directly destroy the ships. Instead, he relied on his superior ship performance and precision strike ability to target only their mobility.
The battle ended very quickly. It was a completely one-sided, crushing fight. In only about three hours, the engines of those several hundred thousand ships had all been destroyed. They were forced out of curvature space into normal space, clustered together in chaotic disorder, with Xiao Yu’s fleet glaring at them from the side.
A ssage filled with despair ca through. “What civilization are you? Why are you blocking our escape?”
Xiao Yu gave a cold laugh and replied, “We are the Sweepers Civilization.”
