There is a principle in war, regardless of whether one understands the enemy’s intentions, as long as it is sothing the enemy wants to do, one must stop it. According to this principle, even if Xiao Yu did not yet understand why the Microscopic Civilization was risking everything and paying such a terrible price just to escape to the Large Magellanic Cloud, Xiao Yu should still imdiately stop them. But the unfortunate reality was that Xiao Yu did not have the ability to prevent the Microscopic Civilization from reaching the Large Magellanic Cloud.
In fact, although Xiao Yu currently held an overwhelming advantage in this war against the Microscopic Civilization, in reality Xiao Yu had no particularly good way of dealing with them at all. Aside from the particle beam weapon he had specifically developed for the Microscopic Civilization, the rest of Xiao Yu’s weapons were basically useless against them. No matter how powerful a weapon was, it first had to be able to hit the enemy.
This was undoubtedly one advantage of the Microscopic Civilization. By shrinking their size, although they had lost offensive power, they had made enormous gains in concealnt. Xiao Yu knew that when the Microscopic Civilization said, ‘even a Level 8 Civilization would not necessarily be able to wipe us out,’ it was not an empty boast.
“After the Microscopic Civilization escapes into the Large Magellanic Cloud, how am I supposed to deal with them? Matter is abundant in the Large Magellanic Cloud, and the particle beam weapon will be greatly affected there, basically becoming unusable. And with the lesson from before, spatial weapons such as spatial mazes probably will no longer have any effect on them either. Thinking it over carefully, I actually do not have any especially good way to deal with them. But if I miss this opportunity, it will be very difficult to find another chance to wipe out the Microscopic Civilization in the future.” Xiao Yu silently contemplated this question. “The Microscopic Civilization must be destroyed. I cannot tolerate their continued existence in this universe.”
In the void, the war continued. Xiao Yu’s vanguard was still exploring within the Large Magellanic Cloud, but aside from gaining a deeper understanding of how chaotic the Large Magellanic Cloud was, Xiao Yu had no other harvest at all. The number of mbers in the Microscopic Civilization continued to decline. It was already certain that he had inflicted massive damage on them, but it also seed certain that the Microscopic Civilization would ultimately succeed in escaping into the Large Magellanic Cloud.
“It seems there is only the stupidest thod left for eliminating the Microscopic Civilization.” Xiao Yu sighed inwardly. “I will just have to keep using large-scale Spatial Bombs to drive them away, not letting them stay in one place for too long, while continuously tracking them with the spatial monitoring network until I wear them down to the very end. That is the only way left.”
Xiao Yu did not want to use this thod, because it would consu far too much ti and effort, and the chance of unexpected changes occurring along the way was also high.
Several decades passed in a rush, and the Large Magellanic Cloud was already close at hand. Under high-speed curvature flight at more than a thousand tis the speed of light, the Microscopic Civilization easily evaded the traps and blockades Xiao Yu’s vanguard had laid there. In an instant, they entered the Large Magellanic Cloud.
And at that mont, another accident occurred.
Xiao Yu suddenly discovered that the Microscopic Civilization had vanished from his spatial monitoring network. Xiao Yu sowhat incredulously checked again, but he still could not locate the spatial fluctuations caused by the Microscopic Civilization’s curvature flight.
“What is going on? Why has the Microscopic Civilization suddenly disappeared?” Xiao Yu’s heart was filled with shock. While the Microscopic Civilization was in curvature flight, the spatial monitoring network was Xiao Yu’s only ans of determining their location. On the contrary, when the Microscopic Civilization was in conventional flight, Xiao Yu actually had a few more thods by which he might find them. So although the Microscopic Civilization clearly knew Xiao Yu had spatial network monitoring thods, they had still continuously used curvature flight.
But now… even the spatial monitoring network had lost its effect?
Xiao Yu quickly analyzed this situation. After carrying out a large number of tests, Xiao Yu finally confird one point, and could not help but smile bitterly in his heart.
“No wonder the Microscopic Civilization desperately insisted on escaping into the Large Magellanic Cloud… So because of the influence of so unknown reason, my spatial monitoring network loses effectiveness against tiny targets here in the Large Magellanic Cloud. Presumably, this is one of the aftereffects left behind after the Guardian of the Way or the Rebel Alliance carried out that major operation. If the spatial monitoring network cannot be used here, then I have no way of finding the Microscopic Civilization again.”
Several billion molecules and atoms scattered throughout a galaxy two thousand light years in diater. Not even an immortal could find them.
“So the Microscopic Civilization intends to settle this completely… They want to use the special environnt here to completely shake off. They can afford to wait here, but I cannot afford to wait here. But I really am unwilling to accept this…”
This was obvious. Matter was abundant here. If necessary, the Microscopic Civilization could remain here for several hundred thousand years if they wanted. Or they might even quietly use the Large Magellanic Cloud as a transit point, slip out from so corner before Xiao Yu could fully deploy surveillance around the galactic edge, and Xiao Yu would never be able to find them again.
But Xiao Yu already loathed the Microscopic Civilization to the extre, and was also determined to obtain their technology. To let the Microscopic Civilization go just like this was sothing he truly could not accept.
Once physics developed to a very high level, all kinds of fields beca interconnected. An ordinary intelligent civilization might not have the energy to develop in every direction, but Xiao Yu was different. In the sa way, once computer technology developed deeply enough, it also beca linked in countless ways with the microscopic world. If Xiao Yu wanted to once again greatly increase his computational power, acquiring the technology of the Microscopic Civilization was one feasible path. This was very important to Xiao Yu.
But at this mont, the Microscopic Civilization was like a drop of water rging into the sea, disappearing without a trace. And they might at any mont co ashore from so other place Xiao Yu could not monitor and flee again. Xiao Yu, anwhile, was like a fisherman standing on the shore, able only to stare helplessly at the sea and think about how he could take that drop of water back out of it.
“Conventional detection thods are ineffective against the Microscopic Civilization, and the spatial monitoring network has also now lost its effect. I have completely lost all location information on the Microscopic Civilization.” Xiao Yu silently reflected. “Perhaps I can lure the Microscopic Civilization out again through so kind of sche. But the Microscopic Civilization is surely extrely guarded against at this point. It would be very difficult to achieve that goal through sches…”
“Xiao Yu, weren’t you very arrogant? Weren’t you going to exterminate our entire Microscopic Civilization?” At this mont, Xiao Yu once again received a ssage from the Microscopic Civilization. “Didn’t you also want to obtain our technology and intelligence? Do you want to know what exactly happened before the disassembly and reassembly of the Milky Way Galaxy, and which civilizations existed in the galaxy at that ti, and what beca of them?”
“It seems that before the disassembly and reassembly of the Milky Way Galaxy, that civilization called Pegasus also returned to the galaxy and joined up with the Divine Ark Civilization. They seed to have sensed that sothing was wrong and wanted to leave the galaxy. Do you know what thod we used back then to stop them from leaving?”
“And there is much, much more. For example, the detailed classifications of Level 7 Civilizations, the mysteries of Level 8 Civilizations, and so secret information about the Rebel Alliance and the Guardian of the Way. Our civilization possesses a great deal of intelligence. Do you want to know all of it?”
The mont he received the ssage from the Microscopic Civilization, Xiao Yu imdiately reacted and began trying to use technical ans to locate the source of the ssage. But after only a slight attempt, Xiao Yu gave up on this plan.
The Microscopic Civilization had used so kind of concealnt thod when sending this ssage, so Xiao Yu could not possibly locate them through this information alone. Presumably, the Microscopic Civilization also knew this, which was why they were so unscrupulous.
“What happened in the end to the Pegasus Civilization, the Divine Ark Civilization, the Arrow Beasts, and my compatriot?” Xiao Yu calmly sent back a ssage, without mixing any emotional factors into it.
“At the ti they tried to escape from the galaxy, and our Microscopic Civilization used the sa thod with which we prevented you from destroying the Guardian Civilization to stop them. The difference was that when we prevented you from destroying the Guardian Civilization, we did not ultimately destroy your central computer, but when facing them, we destroyed the central computers of more than thirty thousand spacecraft before making them give up on leaving the galaxy…” the Microscopic Civilization said calmly. “As for their final outco, we do not know clearly, but presumably they died in the disassembly and reassembly of the Milky Way Galaxy… They did not have your good fortune, after all.”
“Are you deliberately trying to enrage ?” Xiao Yu said. “You think you can now rest easy, think I have no way to find you and ultimately wipe you out, and so you have beco this unscrupulous… Do you know that doing this is very foolish behavior?”
“We are indeed trying to enrage you. So what? This is, after all, sothing that already happened. At the ti, we really did do it, and in a certain sense, we truly were the murderers who destroyed civilizations very close to you. But so what? What thods do you still have now to deal with us?” The ssage sent by the Microscopic Civilization carried a faint note of mockery.
“I originally did not want to do this. Fine, you forced this on . Do not bla .” Xiao Yu sighed inwardly and gave his reply.
