Behind all of these clues, there was a thread faintly linking them together. It seed that so existence was secretly manipulating all of this in order to achieve so purpose of its own. Before Xiao Yu even realized it, their goal had already been accomplished.

“Then what exactly is their goal? To make and the virtual life civilization fight to the death, and use that to verify which of our forms of existence is more advanced and more perfect?” Xiao Yu muttered to himself. “Then what am I? A slave like those from the Roman Colosseum of Earth’s era?”

Xiao Yu knew that the circumstances of his appearance had always been shrouded in so mist. Behind the matter of his birth, every clue pointed to the existence of sothing, or perhaps it could be called a conspiracy.

“If that is the case, then why would the existence behind the scenes do this? What task do they want to use to complete, or what purpose do they want to achieve? Throughout my growth process, the shadow of conspiracy has been everywhere, and the shadow of hidden hands has been everywhere. They are cultivating , making stronger, and now, through the war between and the virtual life civilization, they have verified that my form of existence is more advanced. So what exactly do they want to do?”

Sowhere in his subconscious, Xiao Yu believed that this virtual life civilization must have so kind of connection with him. This connection was not as simple as rely encountering each other in the Maffei One Galaxy and then engaging in a desperate battle.

There were two simple guesses. First, the virtual life civilization and he had both been created by the sa existence behind the scenes, and it was using a thod like raising gu insects to choose the stronger one between him and the virtual life civilization. Second, the virtual life civilization had been created by another existence hostile to the one that created him. That existence, perhaps constrained by certain limitations and unable to act personally, created the virtual life civilization when he was created, in order to destroy him.

Of course, there were many other possibilities, but Xiao Yu believed these two were the most likely.

But imdiately afterward, Xiao Yu realized sothing that made him feel utterly powerless. No matter which possibility the final answer turned out to be, he had no way to interfere. He could only move forward passively under their manipulation.

This feeling was terrible, yet Xiao Yu could do nothing about it. But there was one thing he had always firmly believed and never once doubted, and that was that he would definitely continue to grow stronger and ultimately leap out of this chessboard.

Xiao Yu continued advancing rapidly. At this mont, he was already more than one million light years away from the ruins of the Maffei One Galaxy. Nearly one thousand years had already passed. During these one thousand years, Xiao Yu had completely digested the computer technology of the computational civilization as well as part of the technology of the Architectural Civilization. He had fully integrated them all, engraved them into his mind, and truly made them his own.

So the construction of a new-type computer was placed on the agenda. During this long journey, Xiao Yu had plenty of ti to devote to research in this field.

During the war with the virtual life civilization, Xiao Yu had suffered greatly from his insufficient computational power. If his computational power could have been increased by ten tis, then he would have taken that war without much effort. And according to Xiao Yu’s current estimate, after integrating the technology of the computational civilization, the new-type computer he developed would at the very least be able to increase his computational power by more than a thousand tis.

What kind of concept was it to increase his computational power by another thousand tis on top of his current foundation? It ant that if all of Xiao Yu’s computational power were used to control warships, he would be able to directly control one hundred billion warships. If it were used for scientific research, it would be equivalent to the efficiency of more than one hundred Level 7 Civilizations conducting scientific research at the sa ti. If used for construction, probably even the combined construction capability of several hundred Level 7 Civilizations would not be able to match Xiao Yu.

At that ti, Xiao Yu would without question beco the most powerful existence in combat among Level 7 Civilizations. Perhaps even other war-related civilizations, such as a Level 7 Civilization of the extre stellar body direction, would not be his match.

Xiao Yu knew that his current computer technology had already reached the peak of a Level 7 Civilization. Before he beca a Level 8 Civilization, it was impossible for computer technology to undergo another major breakthrough. Or perhaps after integrating the unique technologies of other types of Level 7 Civilizations again, computer technology could still make progress. But it would absolutely be impossible for that progress to be as enormous as this ti.

“From now on, at least in micro-scale technology, computer technology, architectural technology, and space technology, I have already reached the level of an advanced Level 7 Civilization. The rest are still at the level of a preliminary Level 7 Civilization. As I am now, I can probably already contend with a Level 8 Civilization to a certain extent. But a Level 8 Civilization… what kind of form of existence is a Level 8 Civilization exactly?”

Xiao Yu silently thought about this question. Since there was a distinction between a Level 7 Civilization and a Level 8 Civilization, then a Level 8 Civilization undoubtedly represented another major breakthrough on top of a Level 7 Civilization. But Xiao Yu could not imagine where such a breakthrough would lie. An advanced Level 7 Civilization had already developed the technology within its category basically to the extre. For example, a microscopic civilization had developed micro-scale technology to the extre, and a computational civilization had developed computational technology to the extre.

It had already reached the extre, and yet there would be another major breakthrough? Xiao Yu could not find the direction in which such a breakthrough could occur.

Deep in his heart, Xiao Yu vaguely had a guess, but he had no way to verify it.

“Perhaps the greatest difference between a Level 8 Civilization and a Level 7 Civilization lies in the use of Rules. If the computational civilization reached the level of a Level 8 Civilization, perhaps they could alter the speed of light inside a computer to obtain faster calculation speeds. If a microscopic civilization reached the level of a Level 8 Civilization, perhaps they could alter the fundantal properties of microscopic particles to make themselves even smaller. If the Architectural Civilization reached the level of a Level 8 Civilization, perhaps they could alter the fundantal structure of space in order to create even more magnificent and miraculous buildings… and a Level 8 Civilization of the extre stellar body direction… perhaps they could alter the properties of black holes and create black hole war stars, who knows.”

“The data from the microscopic civilization indicates that there is no essential difference between a Level 8 Civilization and a Level 9 Civilization. If a Level 8 Civilization chooses rebellion and succeeds in that rebellion, it becos a Level 9 Civilization. That ans that in terms of technology, a Level 8 Civilization is already the pinnacle of this universe. Only, judging from the current situation, that kind of pinnacle is rely the pinnacle in a single aspect. Very likely, aside from the Guardian of the Way, there is still no existence in this universe that has developed all aspects of technology to the pinnacle at the sa ti. Well then, since there are no predecessors ahead, let beco the first person in this universe.”

“It is just that I do not know whether the hidden hand I speculate about will allow to develop to that level. If I am a chess piece, then for the chess player, a chess piece that becos too powerful is perhaps not a very good choice.” Xiao Yu thought with so concern. “However, judging from the current situation, it seems that there is more than one powerful existence hidden behind the scenes. Among these existences, so support and so are trying to eliminate . There is also a contest between them. Then this is my opportunity. Let things continue to develop gradually. One day, all of this will be laid out before .”

Amid this constant thinking and constant research, ti slipped away bit by bit. Several thousand years passed in a flash, and within the Star Cluster-Class battleship Science, certain changes were quietly taking place.

So strange things began to be manufactured by Xiao Yu, and as ti passed, these things began appearing more and more frequently. Most of them were useless. This could be seen from the fact that Xiao Yu casually discarded or destroyed them. But so of them had a certain value, and Xiao Yu carefully preserved those and continuously studied them.

Amid constant failure, Xiao Yu was gradually moving forward. Failure was nothing more than proof that a certain road would not work. By eliminating that road, one ca a little closer to the road leading to success. Xiao Yu’s vast computational power was poured almost entirely into the Star Cluster-Class battleship Science. Under such circumstances, the dawn of success finally appeared before Xiao Yu.

What Xiao Yu was manufacturing was not the kind of computer that had already been fully developed within the computational civilization. What Xiao Yu wanted to build was a completely new computer that fused micro-scale technology, architectural technology, space technology, and, most importantly, the technology of the computational civilization. This type of computer had probably never appeared before in this universe.

But Xiao Yu had finally succeeded. This point in ti was the three thousand five hundredth year after Xiao Yu left the Maffei One Galaxy. There were still roughly one thousand five hundred years of travel left before the quasar ahead.

Yes, the brand-new computer had finally been successfully built. It possessed more than one thousand tis the computational power of Xiao Yu’s current computers, incorporated all of the technological advantages of several Level 7 Civilization directions, and could increase Xiao Yu’s combat power by several hundred tis.

Xiao Yu imdiately mass-produced it and equipped it throughout his warships. After obtaining this vast computational power, Xiao Yu imdiately began construction efforts on a much larger scale. Just imagining the scene of simultaneously controlling several tens of billions, nearly one hundred billion warships in battle was enough to make Xiao Yu excited.

More than one thousand years passed in haste. At this mont, Xiao Yu’s warship reserves had already reached seventy billion. If Xiao Yu were to encounter the virtual life civilization again at this ti, he would not need to use sches at all. He could crush them through strength alone.

The voyage of more than five thousand years had finally ended. Xiao Yu had at last arrived near his destination.
