Now reading: Chapter 928: War of Rules from Rebirth of the Super Battleship, a Sci-fi novel by Rainbow Gate.

“A Level 8 Civilization on the macroscopic direction, is it? It has been a very long ti since we fought a civilization of your type… Before the battle begins, how about we make an agreent first?”

In the silent Feiyuan Galaxy, a ssage traveled from one patch of emptiness to another patch of emptiness. There was clearly nothing here, yet so existence sent out a ssage, and there also clearly seed to be nothing there, yet so existence responded to this ssage. “So our opponent this ti is you… A Level 8 Civilization on the universe direction, how rare… What agreent do you want to make with us? Let us hear it. We are very interested.”

“The agreent is very simple. In the battle between us, no matter who wins or loses, neither side may interfere in the war between those two Level 7 Civilizations. How about it?” said the Level 8 Civilization known as the universe direction civilization.

“It seems that you already have complete confidence in victory… But we are curious, where does your confidence co from? Do you really think you can defeat us and then destroy this galaxy? What a fine plan you have. Defeat us, then destroy all these stars, and that counts as destroying this galaxy. And if you cannot defeat us, then rely on the agreent to bind us so that we cannot attack that Xiao Yu, allowing him to destroy the Central Black Hole and thereby achieve the goal of destroying this galaxy… In these two fronts of war, if we fail on either side, we lose, while you only need to win one front to count as victorious, correct?” The Level 8 Civilization known as the macroscopic direction replied with what seed to carry a teasing tone. As they sent this reply, in that patch of emptiness from which the ssage erged, stellar bodies seed to continuously appear and disappear. Their appearance had no warning, and when they disappeared they left no trace behind.

These stellar bodies were generally very large, but their shapes were not uniform. So were spherical, the smaller ones as large as dwarf planets, the larger ones like stars. Others took on all sorts of bizarre shapes. So looked like smashed automobiles, so like collapsed houses, and so even resembled twisted braids. There were all kinds of strange forms, too many to list.

This bore so resemblance to Alien Beast Civilizations. Perhaps these macroscopic civilizations had obtained the ability to let themselves evolve into larger and larger forms through studying alien beasts.

Judging from the information of the universe civilization, it seed that the Rebel Alliance wanted to preserve the Feiyuan Galaxy and turn it into its own domain of Rules, enforcing its own established Rules there. anwhile, the Spokesperson’s side hoped to stop the Rebel Alliance from occupying this galaxy by destroying the galaxy itself.

And the destruction of a galaxy could be viewed from two aspects. First, destroy the stars of the galaxy. Stars are the fundantal elents that make up a galaxy. Without stars, naturally it could no longer be considered a galaxy. Second, destroy the Central Black Hole of the galaxy. Without the gravitational binding of the Central Black Hole, the galaxy would fall into total chaos. It might very well collapse and disintegrate completely.

As long as one of these two fronts succeeded, the Spokesperson’s side would count as victorious. That was why the macroscopic civilization had said, ‘If we fail on either side, we lose, while you only need to win one front to count as victorious.’

“That is right. That is exactly our plan.” the universe direction Level 8 Civilization replied. “But making this agreent with you is rely conveying the opinion of our camp. Our civilization itself does not necessarily think that way. Of course, we will abide by this agreent, but after we defeat you and secure a victory that settles the overall situation, we would be very happy to help that little fellow, the Dark Star Civilization, teach Xiao Yu a lesson…”

“It seems you hold very deep prejudice against Xiao Yu. That is quite an important piece of information. Does that an your Spokesperson camp has already begun showing certain tendencies toward division?” the macroscopic civilization said calmly.

“You need not concern yourselves with such matters. Your duty and task is to be defeated by us, then promptly get out of this galaxy and withdraw your filthy hands that are trying to ddle with the Rules of the universe… So what if you are big?” The universe civilization spoke with extre disdain, as though it had not placed the macroscopic civilization in its eyes at all.

The verbal exchange between the two sides ended there. The macroscopic civilization did not respond to the ridicule of the universe civilization. The region of space where they were grew even quieter, as if nothing had ever existed there. Yet within this silence, a strange atmosphere was spreading.

The war had already begun.

“So you are already capable of rging your small universe with the main universe to a certain extent, and then altering the Rules of the universe within a certain scale? You are trying to rely on Rules to eliminate us… You are thinking too simply. Since that is the case, we will shatter the Rules you have established and make your small universe collapse completely.”

A cold ssage devoid of any emotion echoed here. Along with the sending of this ssage, in so invisible places within this region of space, so strange conditions suddenly began to occur.

Within this space, endless microscopic particles began appearing all at the sa ti. There was actually nothing strange about such a phenonon in itself. It was rely vacuum fluctuation. In the vacuum, particle pairs constantly appear, one particle carrying positive mass, one carrying negative mass, and after appearing for an extrely brief ti, both annihilate and return to nothingness. It is for precisely this reason that the universe obeys the law of conservation of mass-energy on the macroscopic level, and does not experience spontaneous increases or decreases in mass.

Yet at this mont, the vacuum fluctuation occurring here had beco violent to an extre. Even more, the particles appearing in this vacuum fluctuation had begun, on the macroscopic level, to no longer obey the law of conservation of mass-energy. At a certain mont, the mass produced by these vacuum fluctuations, the number of positive particles, began to exceed the number of negative particles. In other words, so energy, or rather so mass, was being born in this universe for no reason at all.

This violated Rules and violated the laws of the universe. It was an extrely bizarre phenonon, yet here it seed entirely normal, because all around it, even more things that violated Rules were happening…

Several light years away, a star was quietly revolving around the Central Black Hole along its orbital path, and around it, a planet was revolving around the star. But suddenly, everything was reversed. The planet abruptly stopped moving, while the star began revolving around the planet instead…

An asteroid, under the influence of the planet’s gravity, had been violently plunging toward it. But just as this reversal occurred, for so unknown reason, the asteroid suddenly turned around and shot away at a speed much greater than the speed at which it had approached, as if there had been a trampoline in front of it and it had been bounced away.

Countless bizarre and unimaginable situations were taking place here. In certain unknown regions of space, innurable giant stellar bodies and other strangely shaped things were quietly lingering there. Great amounts of energy flowed out from them, yet no one knew where this energy flowed to. After leaving their bodies, the energy vanished into thin air. It seed to enter a deeper layer of the universe, a place profound enough to touch the source of this universe.

At the very mont when Rules were being rewritten and everything had begun to descend into chaos, so gigantic lifeforms of the macroscopic civilization seed not only unaffected by these chaotic Rules, but rather as though they were fish in water. Clearly, compared with the ordinary Rules of the universe, the present Rules were more comfortable for them, and here they could unleash even stronger combat power. They flickered in and out throughout this chaotic cosmic space. This might have been curvature flight, or perhaps not. So of them, through conventional travel alone, reached speeds of hundreds or thousands of tis the speed of light. They advanced fiercely, launching violent attacks against their enemies simultaneously on the level of Rules and on the level of the visible universe.

“Since you clearly know that we are a Level 8 Civilization on the universe direction, then it is impossible that you do not know that rewriting and establishing new Rules is precisely what we are best at. So why are you trying to gain an advantage on the level of Rules?” Along with this faint sigh, more indescribably strange phenona occurred again in this region of cosmic space.

For so unknown reason, certain macroscopic civilization lifeforms that had been traveling conventionally at speeds of hundreds or thousands of tis the speed of light suddenly lted into soft masses like molten steel, while certain macroscopic civilization lifeforms that had been engaged in sothing similar to curvature flight disappeared from the visible universe and never appeared in the visible universe again. No one knew where they had gone, or whether they were dead or alive.

So stars suddenly dimd in brightness, yet the speed of their internal nuclear fusion increased by an unknown amount, so that in an extrely short period of ti they exhausted all of their energy and peacefully shrank into a single mass. Throughout this process, there was no explosion at all. So planets suddenly began to emit light, and their luminosity beca even brighter than stars…

Within this region of cosmic space, the Rules were chaotic and unstable, and everything in the visible universe, including interstellar dust, stars, and planets, was governed by physical Rules. Once the physical laws were altered, they were the first to feel it.

The region where the Rules had been rewritten seed extrely vast. Within this region there were at least more than thirty million stars of different masses. At this mont, these stars were like sculptures of clay, being kneaded at will by the power of Rules.

And clearly, the war between the two great Level 8 Civilizations had only just begun.
