The Nightmare Lord despaired as my attacks got through him, his entire body was beginning to disappear rapidly.

"M-My body is...! Why is my body disappearing?! WHY?!"

"Of course it's going to disappear, you decided to rge with an already unstable Nightmare Realm! You finished yourself off like that, dumbass!"

He really couldn't understand why this was all happening at all! How clueless can you get?

"THEN I'LL TAKE YOU WITH !"

While roaring in frustration and anger, the gigantic Nightmare Lord suddenly rushed towards , spreading his entire body like a sli with hundreds of tentacles, attempting to latch onto before disappearing.

So he wanted to go kamikaze against and blow up with everyone else before he dies? Nightmares are really quite sothing!

"Oh? Did you want to hug ? Aren't you nice?"

I smiled, as I harnessed the powers of Emily, Alma, and Sofia.

My new friends, and people that I will protect no matter what!

We're getting out of here, and we're saving your world, girls! I promise I will.

"Girls! He's about to die, one last attack!" I roared.

And the trio nodded, imbuing everything they had into my weapons.

The staff and the gauntlets quickly rged together into a long, golden sword.

"{Heavenly Sword of Dreams}"

I swung the massive sword against the Nightmare Lord, splitting his entire body into two halves, and then I swung it again, and again, and again!

And again and again and again...

And again!

SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!

As he was being slashed apart countless tis while screaming in agony, his last struggle ca in the form of a massive beam of pure space-distorting nightmare energy.

"GRAAAHHHHH!!!"

The beam reached as I was slashing him apart, only for a giant black cat to erge from my back and open her jaws.

"Don't think I'm doing this out of goodwill, you idiot!"

It was Beatriz!

FLUOSH!

She devoured the incoming beam, buying enough ti before I finished off the Nightmare Lord, slashing up to a molecular level.

And then, unable to recover anymore, his particles combined together but then...

BOOOMMM!!!

Exploded.

His presence was completely gone, and he finally, finally died!

I simply never imagined a Nightmare Lord could just outright absorb a Nightmare Realm to beco so strong!

It was an annoying fight but at the end, we pulled through.

"W-We did it!" said Alma, exhausted.

"Yaaaay... ugh," Emily was just as tired.

"Maria! You're... you're amazing... Ugh..." Sofia groaned.

At the end, all three girls fell unconscious within my chanical chest.

My form wasn't going anywhere though, as long as I kept it fueled with Dream Essence, it could remain indefinitely.

"Alright now... how do we go back?"

I looked around, we were currently within the Void of all Nightmares where all Nightmare Realms were born.

"Hmm... There!"

I swung the golden sword and split apart space open, which revealed blue skies, right above the academy.

Nice!

I flew through it, and then appeared in the blue skies.

"Let's return to normal for now..."

Wait, what about Sofia?!

Is she not dying or sothing?

I quickly checked on her sleeping body.

However, she seed to be perfectly healthy.

What was inside of her chest though, I had to investigate.

I gently moved her over and then placed my phantasmal hand inside of her chest.

I inspected the interior of her body where the Dream Heart would have been.

However, there was...

Nothing?

There was no Dream Heart nor a Nightmare Heart.

In fact there was nothing, she was a completely normal human being!

What the hell? Then how did she survive?

Is this because of how the Dream went?

Maybe because she accepted her Nightmares and forgave them or sothing?

Those that were her parents...

And this chanical Heart she had.

Perhaps they're all the key to her sudden recovery.

I'll have to investigate this later.

I descended from the skies, but quickly decided to turn back to normal, putting the girls in my

Shadow Realm.

I sent a telepathic ssage to my family, as I moved to the dormitories, the room where I

slept in specific.

I placed the three girls there, who were soundly asleep.

Geez, what do I do now?

"Huh?"

Suddenly I noticed the chanical winged heart appearing out of my body, flying towards

Sofia, and then placing itself inside of her chest.

As if nothing!

I checked her body's interior again and noticed it was right there!

Wait what?! So this is her new heart?

But its sentient and it's like a spirit?

A Dream Spirit Heart, maybe?

I don't know, honestly...

Knock, knock!

I quickly went to open the door, finding my family there, even the kids ca to check on

and rushed inside the room, hugging tightly.

"Maria! I'm glad you're back safe and sound!" Eraldine said.

"But why did you co back from a completely different area?!" wondered Nia. "I thought

you girls were in the bathroom?"

"Ah yeah, I honestly have no idea how that even worked..." I sighed. "But well..."

I decided to explain them what happened while they told what happened on their side. Through the ego I left behind I could see so things, but not everything.

The Nightmare Demon that appeared out of nowhere was defeated successfully; the teachers got there a bit too late as the nightmare realm already disappeared.

Because they never said I was there with Emily, Alma, and Sofia, they had no idea of what

happened, and Sofia's safe from inspections or being told she beca a monster or

sothing...

And then I told them what happened on my side and everything...

"So it was really all for Sofia, that damn brat..." Partner sighed, glaring at her. "I should just

drink her blood already..."

"Don't do that..." I said, patting her shoulders. "She had gone through a lot, and I think all of them need to rest. I'll bring them to their rooms. After that, we should probably... go back to classes I guess? Only an hour and a half has passed after all..."

"Eh, don't worry about that, they canceled whatever little classes we had today," shrugged Partner. "So we're free."

"Oh nice!" I said. "Maybe I should go investigate the family of the person I'm replacing."
