As Maria tried to convince her friends that her superhuman abilities that surpassed her previous form were totally not sothing weird and just part of her "second awakening", suddenly…
RUMBLE!
Suddenly and out of nowhere, the floor beneath them trembled, and a massive creature surged from the forest floor, covered on these blade grass all over its shell! Indeed, the bladed grass and the monster's shell were one.
"GRUOOOHHHH!"
The force of the monster sent the girls were flying away as the creature erged from the ground, resembling a giant black and dark green turtle with several eyes across its body, it also had six limbs with sharp claws, and it seed very pissed.
The monster's size was big, surpassing four ters of height, and a bit more of width. It had a sharp beak with even sharper fangs, and it looked furious its spikes were taken away. Maria could have never thought this was the origin of the bladed grass.
"Is everting in this freaking place a dangerous monster?!" Martina seed to be going insane.
"Wait a second! Wait! The glass were the shell's spikes?!" asked Emily. "You can't be serious right now!"
"Oh, I really didn't see that one coming…" Maria nodded. "Yep, that was a surprise for sure…" She was trying to pretend it wasn't her fault this giant thing appeared.
"Don't be so calm! It's a Nightmare Beast! Everyone to formation- Uwaah?!" Sofia panicked, noticing that the tremors continued a lot more.
RUMBLE!
However, to the dismay of the girls, the monsters didn't stop coming, once one appeared, dozens after dozens of the sa turtles all appeared out of the forest floor, revealing huge holes where they were hiding, perhaps sleeping or hibernating.
"GRUOOHH!"
"GRAARRRH!"
"SHAAAGHH!"
They began clicking their giant beaks, making a loud noise as they roared, slowly beginning to set all the eyes over their bodies towards the girls… At least they were slow, but the girls were quickly proven wrong in that such a weakness would make them easy to deal with.
"GRAARRGH!"
The one closest to them roared furiously, its entire shell began to spin over its own body, making the gigantic turtle rush towards them like a spinning top!
At the sa ti, the grass blades on its shell began larger pointing out. A deadly charge from this thing would rip to shreds most people!
However…
CRAAASH!
Nyx stepped forward, swinging her giant axe, she stopped the spinning turtle on its tracks, before she opened her jaws and unleashed a dragon breath, sending the turtle flying away with a loud explosion.
BOOOM!
"Hmph! Who do they think they are! Big turtles are no big deal!"
As the girl said that the other turtles groaned, Maria had calculated they were at least twenty more of them, who all began spinning at the sa ti.
"You're serious?! All of them are coming at us?!" Emily asked angrily. "Ugh!"
"We have to step them, or we'll get ripped to shreds!" Alma said. "Maria! Sofia!"
"I know!" Maria nodded. "Don't worry, let's stop them right on their tracks! Martina, Alma, stay in the middle! Sofia, release your power to enhance and strengthen yourself. We're doing this!"
"Okay!" Sofia nodded, her chanical Heart rging with her bone dragon armor and turning it gold, alongside the weapon she was holding, a spear Maria had given to her made of the sa bones. "Ready!"
With her new golden looks, Martina and the rest of the girls gasped, Sofia always looked dazzling in this appearance!
However, that wasn't important anymore, the turtles reached them, clashing against the group at once. Emily was being battered, but her double armor helped her beco incredibly tanky.
"Damn turtle fuckers! I hope you're weak to electricity!"
She charged her fists with a lot of electricity after being hit a lot, and released it through her punches, catching the turtles as they ca.
"{Thunder Dragon Punch}!"
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Thunderous explosions erupted from her blows, the turtles were electrocuted, imdiately stopping their charge and groaning, tripping over the ground and looking confused or stunned.
"Woah it worked?! Looks like they're weak to electricity!" said Emily, smiling. "Too bad I'm the only one here that can use it, but whatever. They don't look dead though!"
"I think I can do sothing similar!" Maria said, infusing dark lightning into her sword and swinging it vertically and horizontally against the super tough turtles.
"{Thunderous Death Blade}!"
SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!
Her slashing attacks ca accompanied with explosive waves of electricity infused with darkness and death energies, outright shattering the turtles shells and even breaking their bodies apart into pieces.
"Oops, was that too strong? My bad…" Maria was shocked as she saw three turtles completely dead, their cores were shattered too, she was too rude with how she fought them.
"Hey dummy, don't break their cores! Now they're useless…!" Emily complained. "You have to hit them in the head, looks like the core is in the body."
"Gotcha!" nodded Maria, her Aura spreading into several phantom clones that attacked the surrounding turtles, taking them down or paralyzing them.
"Let help too!"
At the sa ti, Alma fired frozen spikes, aiming at the turtles' heads, but their hard scales made them capable of easily resisting the damage to an extent.
"Do your thing, jester!"
However, with Martina by her side, that didn't matter much, her jester puppet erged, giggling as it began to spread dreamy fog around the turtles, confusing them and making them fight one another.
As they hit each other, they broke apart their scales with their sharp beaks, which everyone else took great advantage of, hitting their heads until the turtles died.
Maria singlehandedly held them back so they wouldn't overwhelm everyone else, and Nyx was also doing the sa, pushing and kicking them back constantly until they gave up and were beheaded by a cleaving attack from her axe.
"Phew! I think we're done here," said Maria, nodding. "That was a bit harsher than I imagined, huh? How many Nightmare Cores we got?"
She tried to act all cheery and all, but the girls glared at her very angrily…
"Maria don't grab stuff out of nowhere!" Sofia reprimanded her.
"It's because you began cutting the blade grass that they appeared…" Emily sighed.
"Yeah, please be careful next ti, alright?" Alma tried to be nicer.
"Ah…" Maria was left speechless. "Okay… sorry."
