Using the map provided to us by the lovely Beatriz, we moved across the Verdant Jungle Layer of the Hollow Earth Labyrinth, seeking the Wild Rainforest, a large area with larger plants, bigger monsters, and more resources we can extract. It was also a good passage between the Verdant Jungle and the Crimson Blood Forest, as both connected.
The problem for most people is that, well, it’s full of monsters, very strong ones, and Beatriz, as the little coward she is, was afraid. Naturally, so the most normal thing we would do in this situation is taking the safest route which she knew by mory, apparently.
But nah that would be pretty damn boring, right?
"So how do we get there?"
We began moving already through the Verdant Jungles, walking towards the east. The structure of the Hollow Earth is a bit weird because things aren’t just a flat surface.
It’s all an internal sphere, so things can get freaky as we walk around, and we end up looking at mountains right in the sky.
Yes, there’s apparently two surfaces, or well, one that loops around, at once point the "sky" was actually just the jungles we walked through, amazing right?
And you don’t even feel it when you move because gravity keeps you tightly stuck to the ground no matter what.
What’s more, if you fly into the skies and try to reach the other place, you can see the gravitational and electromagnetic forces clashing with one another.
It seems that the entire planet is constantly generating this energy, gravity, which keeps us on the ground no matter where we are.
And this is where it originates the most, these energies could instsntly flatten or tear apart soone’s body with ease.
Not to us though, even our weakest mbers can withstand this level of force. So we were able to experint a little.
"Woooaaaah! Hahahaha!"
"What’s this?! Woooaah!"
"No way! Are we floating and up and down?!"
Nyx, Arachne, and Celes were constantly floating in the middle of the skies, purple colored electricity zapping through the clouds as the gravitational forces kept them going up and down.
They were the ones that jumped there to begin with, but it was interesting how it worked.
"Although the origin of the gravitational forces is the sa, it seems that due to the internal shape of the planet, it has been "folded" into two different gravitational forces, each is a "tip" of it, but because it is the interior of a sphere, these forces collide with themselves, creating this fascinating phenonon!" Beatriz said, amazed by what she was seeing. "There’s one gravitational force pulling you down into the ground beneath us and another towards the ground above! If you can withstand the stretching and electromagnetic forces, then it becos an amazing natural phenonon where you are constantly flying up and down."
"Yeah, yeah, you’re a nerd aren’t you?" I asked her with a smile. "Hahaha!"
"N-Nerd?! I was just..." She muttered. "Just looking at things in a smart perspective. What’s wrong with that?"
"Nothing, don’t worry... Oh? Looks like we finally got so company," I looked at the skies.
Suddenly, a large flock of dozens of flying Nightmaresaurs appeared. This ti they weren’t the sa pterodactyls from before though.
These guys were different, resembling feathered raptorial species of dinosaurs that could fly, perhaps ancestors of birds, with colorful blue, green, and yellow feathers.
They had massive velociraptor-like heads, and beautiful crowns made of feathers around their heads.
"GRYYAAARRRR!"
They roared at the children as they approached, this was the perfect ti for them to grind so more Nightmare Essence and EXP I suppose.
It was a flock of around thirty of them, so we decided to join in as well. The gravitational forces seed to work to these monster’s advantage as well, helping them maneuver around easily.
"Alright everyone, let’s help the kids!"
I quickly kicked the empty air, reaching the skies within a split second, and summoning my Sword and my Halberd, swinging them against the closest monster.
"ROOOAAR!"
The ferocious flying Nightmaresaur roared at , its massive jaws, of over five ters of height, opened, about to snap onto .
Using the [Umbral Moonlight Titaness Heaven-Splitting Halberd] first, I rushed forward, unleashing a rampage of powerful, potent attacks, smashing the monster’s head and shattering its hard scales beneath its feathers.
CLASH! CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!
"GRYYAAAGGH!"
It was tough, surprisingly resisting the blows and not dying instantly on the spot, showing just how tough these monsters were, and well, their size said a lot as well.
Comparing them to Yggdrasil’s monsters, they would be on par with the Deep Sea Monsters we battled before coming here, the ones that the King of the Depths constantly summoned.
The thing quickly spun in midair, its giant claws rushing towards and attacking with a powerful series of sharp blows.
CRASH! CRASH! CRASH!
I resisted them with both of my weapons and then parried the creature’s claws with my halberd again, this ti, overflowing with Moonlight Energy.
"{Umbral Moonlight Rampage}!"
I activated one of the halberd’s abilities, as the entire halberd overflowing with pink, black, and purple flas of darkness, moonlight, and dream essence.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
And then, an unstopable rampage of attacks engulfed the monster, unable to defend due to the rapid, consecutive nature of my attacks, it hopelessly scread in agony as its bones, which were really tough, finally broke apart, and its entire body was torn to shreds.
CRAAASH!
"Phew! Took a bit longer than I thought, huh? I shouldn’t go too easy on the monsters in here."
"GROOOAARRR!"
"SHYAAAAGGH!"
"RUUOOOHH!"
And just as I said that three more chased after , I spun in midair and evaded their incoming attacks, which were slicing claw attacks and powerful bites.
"Alright, co at again!"
"{Umbral Moonlight Rampage}!"
I unleashed dozens of consecutive attacks with my halberd again, explosions of pink and purple flas erupting from each blow, the monsters kept being pushed back, but tough as rocks, they keep up and continued attacking.
"Heh, this is it."
Ten consecutive blows, I can use it now.
"{Ultimate Titan Blow}!"
