"I have the power to see through people’s hearts and detect their true intentions, to know when they lie... but you are an honest person," the Farr said with a gentle smile on his scarecrow face. "You’ve endured so much suffering and pain, yet... you’re still a good person, despite everything."

"I just try my best," Maria sighed. "That’s all I can do."

"Hm, and maybe that’s enough," he nodded, shaking Maria’s hand with his enormous one. "Thank you."

"No need to thank , I should be thanking you! I also bought lots of veggies down there; they’re great!" Maria said, taking a bite from a carrot. "This world you’ve built here, Farr, is beautiful. I’ll protect it with all my strength. If any invader ever appears, call and I’ll co running to help."

"I’ll be counting on you then!" the Legendary Farr nodded.

Maria returned to her family after forming the soul contract with him and explained who she had spoken with and everything that had happened.

"Amazing. So there really is a farr in the skies..." Eraldine smiled.

"It’s quite sothing that he’s a scarecrow, though," Arthur said.

"Yeah, his whole history is peculiar and very interesting," Maria replied.

They continued chatting and decided to move to the floor below this one, choosing to spend the night there.

Once they stepped through the portal and crossed the dinsional mbranes...

They arrived.

It was cold, silent, and... inside a building.

The walls were white, slightly aged, marked with hand-shaped bloodstains.

Light bulbs hung from the ceiling, so flickering or not working properly.

"Huh? And this is a building? An abandoned building..." Maria said.

"Hm..." Nia looked around. "It seems quite mysterious."

"No people either..." Partner said. "I sll blood in the air—both dry and fresh."

"This is..." Ferleen muttered.

"It’s not a good floor..." lianna whispered.

"Why are you all being so quiet?" Maria asked. "Hm? Are these... dical utensils?"

Maria glanced at the floor. dical tools lay scattered everywhere.

"Shhh, be quiet!" Ferleen whispered urgently. "Please be quiet, this is like a huge, terrifying dungeon!"

"It’s dangerous and not safe..." lianna added. "We wanted to stay in Verdelore, but you all decided to move on..."

"Oh, my bad..." Maria said. "But is it really that dangerous? Hello?"

"Eeek! Don’t scream!" lianna cried out even louder.

And then...

TUMP...

TUMP, TUMP...

Heavy footsteps approached from beyond a nearby room.

Strange groans accompanied them.

The door slowly opened while everyone fell silent.

A pair of bloodshot eyes appeared in the darkness.

"Aah... Aeehh..."

Slowly, the figure erged.

A human. A person.

Covered in white bandages and blood.

At first, so wondered if it was simply a wounded survivor.

Then they saw the large dical saw it carried—coated in fresh blood.

"AEEEEGGGH!"

The "creature"—clearly no longer a normal human—scread and charged to attack.

"I told you!" lianna cried.

"It’s a Ripper!" Ferleen said.

"Ripper?" Maria wondered as the saw struck her head and the ripper tried to saw through her forehead.

But...

"Aeehh?"

The ripper tilted its head, staring at the saw.

It was broken.

"Um, excuse , were you trying to cut my head? Hahah," Maria laughed. "Co on, let’s be friends instead."

"AEEEAA!"

The Ripper rushed toward the nearest child, a knife flying toward Nyx’s left eye.

Yet the knife shattered the mont it touched her.

"Hey, what’s wrong with you?" Nyx asked, tilting her head.

"A-Aeeh?!"

The ripper stared at the girl and began to sweat. Its bloodshot eyes and bandaged face, revealing only a mouth without lips, twisted in fear.

"Why are you attacking us? Be nice and sit down!"

With that command, the ripper cried out and sat like an obedient dog, lowering its head.

"Aeehh..."

Bloody tears fell from its eyes as the imnse pressure from mother and child crushed its murderous intent completely.

"Good boy! See, you have to be nice and behave! Okay?" Maria smiled, patting its head.

"Aeeh! Aeahh!" the ripper smiled back and nodded, its tongue lolling out like a dog’s.

"W-What the hell..." lianna muttered.

"Hahah... I should have expected this outco. This is Maria’s family, after all..." Ferleen laughed.

What would have been a terrifying monster in this world was nothing more than a cute puppy to them.

Because they were the true terrifying monsters.

"So what’s this world called?" Maria asked.

"This is Floor 27, Sancturectum," Ferleen explained. "It’s... uh, if you haven’t guessed already, a giant hospital—like the hospitals from a human world, apparently."

"Oh yeah!" Maria nodded. "Hey, Ripper, can you find a map?"

"Aeehh!" The ripper nodded and flew off.

It returned monts later with a map covered in soone else’s blood.

The map showed the entire structure of Sancturectum, but Maria thought it looked far too small.

"It’s surely bigger, right? From what I can see, it seems like an old, abandoned hospital full of creepy psychopath patients, mutated creatures, and maybe evil nurses?" Maria wondered. "It has a lot of Death Energy, but it’s not exactly haunted the way we could compare it to that manor we visited before. This guy is a living being, after all—one... that sohow beca so disturbed it’s classified as a monster."

"He seems obedient," Nyx said.

"I think he’s just scared," Lucifer said. "But perhaps they’re like beasts and simply obey the strong, huh?"

TUMP, TUMP...

Footsteps echoed again—dozens of them.

"Aeeeh?"

The ripper looked into the distance and growled, foam dripping from its mouth as it gripped its saw and knife ready to pounce.

From the doorway, a group of nurses appeared...

Their faces were featureless, crisscrossed with thick red veins.

They looked faintly alluring, yet their bodies were riddled with holes, and their hands and legs had been swapped.

"Auuh..."

"Uugh..."

"Aaagh!"

They groaned in pain and attacked.

Maria stepped forward and slapped them with her hand.

SLAP!

They flew backward, crashing against the wall and groaning in agony.

She advanced, her aura pressing down on them.

"You follow from now on."

"Aeh?!"

The ripper watched in shock.

The nurses nodded nervously, sweating profusely as their featureless faces flushed red. They quickly began undressing.

"Wait, not that way!"

After stopping the nurse-like monsters from offering their bodies, Maria sighed in relief.

"Let’s continue. Can you bring us to the exit, I an, the entrance that leads to the floor below?"

The nurses nodded. The ripper growled at them but nodded as well.

It seed he had grown jealous that the nurses were receiving more attention.

"Co on, let’s go! This place is fun."

Maria giggled while encountering another group of the hospital’s creepy inhabitants.

It was a huge, muscular man, super jacked and covered in blood. His eyes had been replaced with mouths, and his mouth had an eye...

The group consisted of three. They were strong, but ultimately...

"Uuuh..."

They lowered their heads and beca Maria and Nyx’s "friends."

They t assassin dics, serial-killer mutants, and even long-tongued creatures that crawled along the ceiling.

But they were all "tad."
