Laura would calm down for a mont, then rember who she held and dissolve into fresh tears, hugging and kissing her sister again, refusing to let go.

Maria didn’t mind at all. She clung to her big sister, basking in her warmth, feeling a happiness so deep it ached.

"Fran...! This is so amazing, you’re like a damn angel..." Laura sobbed, kissing her face again and again. "I love you! You’re my life! You’re my beloved baby sister! I’m never letting go of you, okay? And...! And I’m so sorry for being a piece of shit before, okay?! I’ve regretted it for so long! I’m so sorry...! I’m so sorry, Fran...!"
"It’s fine... It’s alright," Maria giggled softly as her sister cried against her chest. "I was kind of a jerk sotis too... that’s just us being sisters, heheh... there’s nothing to be sorry about."
Maria felt quite small in her real body. She had once towered over two ters tall, but now she stood barely 1 ter 62 centiters.
Even after rejuvenation, she had remained almost the sa height as before.
She wasn’t sure whether to feel happy or disappointed about that.
"Really? You don’t hate ?" Laura asked, voice small.
"No... I don’t. I love you," Maria said, smiling and kissing her cheeks. "And I’m so thankful for what you’ve done—keeping alive for twenty years... it must have been so painful, right? I bet Mom feels the sa..."
"Mom...!" Laura gasped. "Right... Mom..."
Her expression turned suddenly sad.
Maria’s heart plumted.
She didn’t want to imagine the worst.
Laura looked down, sha and sorrow clouding her face.
"Is Mom... okay?" Maria asked quietly. "Is she alive?"
"Y-Yeah! I an yeah, she’s fine!" Laura nodded quickly. "Sorry if I scared you... she’s not dead."
"Haaa... why did you act that way then?!" Maria demanded.
"Mom is... a lot happened these twenty years," Laura said, her voice heavy with sadness. "I... maybe we should talk about this at my house. I an, will they let you go ho?"
"Yes, she’s discharged, Miss Laura," the doctor approached them. "I... am at a loss for words. I suggest you go straight to the Hunters Association and register her. If she’s caught using her powers without a license, she could face serious trouble."
"Wait, is it bad?" Maria asked.
"A lot of regulations have been put in place over the last twenty years regarding people with powers—destruction and cri rates have skyrocketed," the doctor explained. "Security is much tighter now... Well, if it’s purely healing, it shouldn’t be an issue, but if she has anything else, better safe than sorry."
"I understand, Doctor. Thank you so much!" Laura said. "I... can I have your number?"
"Hm?" The handso doctor tilted his head, surprised. "Haha, Miss Laura, you’re bold today, huh?"
"I kind of always wanted to ask for your number, Doctor, but now I finally have the courage..." Laura giggled, patting her sister’s shoulder.
"Hahaha!" The doctor laughed warmly. "Alright, Laura."
He shared his number and walked away.
"Holy shit, did I do that?!" Laura gasped, staring at the paper with his number.
"Congrats?" Maria asked. "Was he soone you liked?"
"I an... we’ve been seeing each other for twenty years—he’s super-hot, really kind, and sohow still single..." Laura said. "I an... I should really just try, right?"
"Hahaha! You’re as shaless as I rember, sister," Maria laughed.
"What?! Shaless?! Look who’s talking!" Laura laughed along with her.
