Pfft!

When Jia Yan uttered the number two billion, a tall emissary—who had been injured by Jia Yan’s Brainwave Power in their previous battle—imdiately spat out a mouthful of blood.

“Two… two billion! Why don’t you just go rob soone!” He pointed at Wang Jian with trembling fingers, speaking in shock and disbelief.

It must be noted that the number Wang Jian ntioned was considered enormous even within the Great Empire. Even among this group of highly esteed dignitaries, their combined wealth might not amount to two billion.

For a small civilization, two billion Imperial Coins from the Great Empire was undoubtedly transformative wealth.

“What’s the matter? Is it that your Great Empire, so mighty as it claims to be, is unwilling to pay even two billion when it commits an error? In that case, it seems like there truly is no chance for peace between Earth’s civilization and the Great Empire.” Jia Yan shook his head lightly, appearing profoundly disappointed.

“No, we will pay. Lord Jia Yan, our Great Empire’s emissaries were misled by Zhaopi An, which led to this conflict with Earth and yourself. We implore you not to hold it to heart.”

“The compensation will be delivered in the coming days. For now, we shall take our leave.”

The leading emissary exchanged a few polite words with Jia Yan and then gestured to the surrounding emissaries, who quickly flew away.

Left alone in the starry sky, Jia Yan silently watched as they entered their battleships and then vanished into the vast universe, a contemplative look flickering across his face.

Jia Yan was unable to understand why the attitude of the leading emissary had suddenly changed. Among the departing emissaries, aside from the leader himself, the others were equally perplexed.

“Leader, what is the matter with you? Earlier, you displayed such deference to this Jia Yan. Could it be that you’re worried we might fail to kill him and have chosen to stall for ti while anticipating reinforcents?”

One emissary communicated with the leader via Smart Brain.

“You’re mistaken. I ant what I said earlier. I plan to propose compensating Earth’s civilization to the Empire, and the sum Jia Yan demanded is not excessive. I won’t negotiate for a reduction.” The leader’s tone carried a hint of gravitas.

“What? Have you gone mad? Our Great Empire hasn’t apologized to another civilization, let alone paid humiliating reparations, for a millennium. If you submit this proposal, the Empire will surely think you’ve lost your sanity.”

With a sharp glint in his eyes, the Great Empire leader stared out from his battleship at the rear of the starry sky.

It appeared as though the enigmatic figure hovering above the Blue Planet was still silently evaluating their every move.

A shiver ran through the leader’s body.

“You don’t understand. I felt it earlier—that Jia Yan’s body is peculiar. If my guess is correct…”

As the thought crystallized, a cold chill swept through the leader, leaving him drenched in sweat.

Every Strong One possesses unique talents. While the manifestation of talent within the Orion Arm isn’t particularly pronounced, talents among Strong Ones here seem to be even more diverse compared to those in other regions.

As it happens, the leader’s talent enabled him to perceive certain ‘physical quantum’ phenona.

During the recent battle with Jia Yan, he distinctly sensed that his opponent’s body wasn’t acting independently—it was being manipulated by symtrical quantum particles. Through these quantum particles, he could detect that the entity controlling Jia Yan’s body was a being beyond his wildest imagination!

The sheer terror made him want to flee instantly.

Fortunately, Jia Yan hadn’t exhibited any killing intent earlier, allowing the leader to muster the courage to engage in their brief exchange.

“Regardless of whether the two dignitaries back at the Empire can compare to the entity behind Jia Yan’s true body, avoiding a conflict with him feels like the wisest course of action. Even paying a price seems worthwhile. Moreover, there’s a chance his true body might return to assist us during future battles in the Orion Arm. Even if he doesn’t, the capabilities of his avatar alone aren’t to be underestimated…”

The more he contemplated, the clearer the leader’s reasoning beca.

To foster goodwill toward an entity potentially rivaling the Empire’s two seniors, in exchange for just two billion Imperial Coins, was a minuscule price to pay. Even dispatching personnel to Earth to aid reconstruction wouldn’t be much of a loss.

High above the Earth’s atmosphere, Jia Yan had been observing the emissaries’ battleships retreat into the distance.

“That leader’s gaze seed unusual. He even agreed to my compensation demand. I was initially planning to negotiate for a better deal. But no matter—they’re willing to pay the price, so I’ll let this minor conflict settle itself.”

Jia Yan pondered for a mont, unable to deduce why the leader’s attitude had made such a drastic shift. Ultimately, he attributed it to the other party recognizing the power of his avatar.

What Jia Yan failed to realize was that the leader hadn’t grasped the avatar’s strength but had instead glimpsed the truth behind Jia Yan’s ‘true body.’

Since the emissaries showed no signs of returning to attack, Jia Yan shook his head lightly. The battle had begun and ended swiftly. Now that the matter was resolved, he could finally focus his attention on his true body.

“The avatar should be free from major problems temporarily. I’ll only need to direct a fraction of my spirit here.”

Taking steady steps, Jia Yan began his descent back to Earth from the starry sky.

As he approached, a battleship rose from the Earth to accompany him. Flying toward him, the vessel kept its silence but stayed close.

Clearly, Earth’s authorities had been monitoring the battle from afar via satellites. Now, their admiration for Jia Yan was palpable, with so high-ranking officials even shedding tears of joy during live broadcasts.

Lord Jia Yan had once again safeguarded Earth!

These expressions of gratitude ant little to Jia Yan now. He even worried that grand celebrations might disturb him, so instead of holding extravagant welcoming events, the authorities simply dispatched a battleship to accompany him.

Jia Yan glanced at the small battleship. Within its hundred-ter fra, over a hundred soldiers stood in the bridge, perfectly aligned, saluting him during his flight.

Though lacking grandeur, the gesture ward his heart ever so slightly.

Smiling faintly, Jia Yan couldn’t help but chuckle.

As he neared the skies above Return City, the battleship’s soldiers quickly returned to their posts, and the ship smoothly departed toward Return City.

Jia Yan nodded toward them and descended toward the Jia Family Land.

“Brother, you’re back.”

Upon arriving, it seed that everyone in Jia’s family had anticipated his return after the battle. Father Jia, Mother Jia, Jia Lin, his children, and even Samo Ling and his son Jia Rong stepped out to welco him.

Jia Yan looked at them and smiled faintly.

“Why are all of you out here? It was just a group of petty clowns; there’s nothing for you to worry about.”

Such was Jia Yan’s deanor. After all, a group of dignitaries, however formidable they might be in the Orion Arm, posed little threat compared to the Great Empire itself.

“Alright, as long as Xiao Yan is back. I made a pot of chicken soup—the kind Xiao Yan loved as a kid. Let’s all head to Grandma and Grandpa’s house to enjoy it together.” Mother Jia remained unfazed. Being unfamiliar with matters of cultivation, the intricacies of powerful levels eluded her understanding. All she knew was that her son seed truly extraordinary, viewing aliens deed powerful by others as re trifles.

“Mm, it’s been so long since I had Mom’s chicken soup. I’ve really missed it. Let’s go enjoy it together.” Jia Yan’s eyes sparkled as he thought of the nostalgic flavor, his mouth already watering.

Life among the aliens was harsh, and finding even this small slice of happiness was sothing Jia Yan always dread of.

Within the Jia family, a true atmosphere of familial bliss prevailed.

Yet Jia Yan’s true body wasn’t present on Earth, which ant that even as his avatar savored the food from his childhood, his true body sowhere far away felt distinctly sour.

“Sigh.”

After controlling his avatar to finish eating, Jia Yan directed it to conserve energy and enter closed-door cultivation inside his room. anwhile, his true body let out a deep sigh.

Despite the semblance of happiness, the divide between avatar and true body remained stark, with even sensations like taste falling short of being fully authentic. The more contented his avatar was, the more starkly it emphasized his existential loneliness.

“Forget it. Best not to dwell on such things.”

The Big Mosquito smiled bitterly and shook his head.

The avatar continued cultivating in its room, simultaneously keeping guard against potential retaliation from the Great Empire.

Fortunately, handling these matters required only a fraction of his mind. Most of Jia Yan’s spiritual power had already returned to his true body.

He had spent several days within the Liqiao Force.

Now, he was determined to focus and search within the Liqiao Force for any workshop capable of helping repair his Conceptual Ship.

“Excuse , are you talking about sothing from a sci-fi movie? Please don’t joke around. There’s no way such a battleship could exist.”

Another voice rife with mockery echoed in Jia Yan’s ears.

Don’t be surprised—science fiction movies were also a thing in space. Simply put, they were imaginative depictions of scientific possibilities.

Even though the technological prowess of the Genius Battlefield had surpassed what Earth people considered sci-fi, there were still phenona beyond the reach of science, ensuring the enduring popularity of the genre.

As Jia Yan inquired at several workshops, he couldn’t even finish describing the capabilities of his Conceptual Ship before the responses ca back in disbelief, treating his ideas as pure fantasy.

“Excuse , are you asking us to create sothing like this? That’s impossible… If you’re trying to play gas with Coco Workshop, you’ve got the wrong crowd. Our workshop isn’t an entity for secondary powerhouses like you to ss around with. Understand?”

Once again, Jia Yan was unceremoniously dismissed from yet another workshop. He couldn’t help but chuckle wryly.

Within the Liqiao Force, he had witnessed astonishing technological facilities and industries, so so advanced that even their warship creations made his heart race—they were capable of threatening him.

Yet, when he ntioned building a Conceptual Ship based on its specifications, he was t with utter incredulity and derision.

“But giving up isn’t an option. If the Conceptual Ship originated from soone within the Liqiao Force, then surely there must be soone capable of repairing it. With several hundred years having passed, there’s even a chance its original developer might still reside here.”

Jia Yan refused to yield. Just as he left one workshop and prepared to head toward another…

“Lord Jia Yan—wait, are you really Lord Jia Yan?!”
