Capítulo 2036: Chapter 49: You’re Not Worthy!

“Haha. You, not good enough. Let your Captain co personally. I ca here this ti to challenge him.”

“You scoundrel, you actually want to challenge us? Do you think our Night Patrol is a joke?”

“Yes, no matter how strong, it’s just one person. If we join forces, we can easily defeat you.”

The Night Patrol Team mbers gritted their teeth at Pierz, ready to get on stage together and defeat this outsider causing trouble.

“No need to take action, I’ll handle this.”

Just as they were all indignantly ready to jointly attack, a voice suddenly rang out.

“Eh? Ca-Captain?”

At this mont, everyone turned their heads to see a figure slowly walking out from behind the crowd.

This figure had appeared outside Pierz’s ho a few days ago, and now he erged from the Night Patrol team, which ant he was most likely the Night Patrol Team Leader.

And this guess was correct.

This person was indeed the Night Patrol Team Leader.

“Heh, I wondered what was going on today, people have disappeared to co play with a challenger?”

The Captain, seemingly nonchalant, slowly walked out of the crowd, looked around at Pierz, and casually spoke to those around him.

Influenced by his deanor, the people around him cald down as well.

“Yeah, this is our Captain. No matter how strong he is, he can’t compare to our Captain.”

“Haha, if Captain makes a move, it’s surely a win.”

“Captain, injure this outsider; otherwise, this type of person will surely co again.”

The Night Patrol Team mbers had imnse faith in their Captain.

In the field, Pierz’s heart tightened when the Captain appeared. He almost lost composure.

If it wasn’t for Jia Yan beside him, quietly encouraging him, Pierz’s expression might have turned ugly now.

He took a deep breath.

Jia Yan’s words echoed in his ears.

“Heh, I wondered who it was, Captain, did you enjoy watching from the sidelines? Now seeing I’ve wasted a lot of energy and possibly got injured, you dared to co out?”

Under Jia Yan’s aid and reminder, Pierz spoke these words.

“Scoundrel, does our Captain’s strength need such tactics?”

“Absolutely absurd, Captain, tell him you just got here.”

Upon hearing Pierz’s words, the Captain’s expression slightly soured.

He wanted to say he just arrived.

But doing so, the group of Night Patrol Team mbers, who had seen him standing by for a long ti, would know he was lying, reducing his authority instead.

“Hmph, you brat, I didn’t let you pass our Night Patrol assessnt a while ago, and now you challenge us? Do you know that’s not very decent of you?”

The Night Patrol Captain coldly asked.

He didn’t directly respond, instead deflecting the issue elsewhere.

“I’m indecent? Haha, how did I hear that anyone can challenge the Night Patrol? As soone who failed the assessnt, I’m fully entitled to challenge to express dissatisfaction with my results. If I win, you, as Captain, have to step down. aning, you’ve already stepped down.”

Pierz sneered further. He was right; in Giant City, such a Night Patrol team wasn’t much, and due to their substantial energy, they could easily form a small clique, often rejecting outsiders who wished to join them.

If rejected, the outsiders could challenge mbers, proving the Captain’s judgnt poor or that he refused newcors to protect their interests.

Currently, the Captain had done just that.

“Heh, you’re right, but you didn’t show this level of strength back then. Can I regard your actions as intentionally causing trouble for us?”

The Night Patrol Captain wasn’t naive and imdiately retorted.

Being accused of refusing outsiders was a very dangerous charge.

So, he imdiately rebutted.

Pierz didn’t engage much with what he said because it was the truth.

“Alright then, I’ve co to challenge. Now, are you personally confronting ? If you can defeat , I won’t hold a grudge over earlier matters. But if you can’t, relinquish your Captain’s position to . How about it?”

“Agreed.”

Their conversation finished, leaving the Night Patrol Team mbers stunned.

“So this guy was aiming for our Captain’s position all along.”

“Bastard, he targeted the Captain’s position. No wonder when he ca, he looked respectful, and now he’s like this. His past behavior was all an act.”

“It’s unbelievable; seems we’ve been fooled by this guy.”

The Night Patrol Team mbers felt profound hostility toward Pierz’s words.

Because what Pierz said made it seem like the recent events were preditated.

If Pierz knew their thoughts, he would surely give a wry smile.

Days ago, he wasn’t pretending. He was truly respectful, considering himself the weakest in the Night Patrol, and showed utter deference to everyone, offering small tokens to individuals of significant power.

Unfortunately, even those mbers who accepted his gifts mocked and eventually evicted him.

If not for these events, he wouldn’t have been driven to anger.

Especially since the current Captain accepted a small bribe but then made the test almost impossibly hard, under the guise of encouragent.

This was a significant reason he agreed to Jia Yan after hearing his challenge speech.

Having the chance to retaliate against soone who underestimated and cheated him was extrely satisfying.

“Haha, enough talk; since you’re revealing your strength now, you’ve clearly planned this. Fine, let’s not dwell on the past. If you truly defeat , I’ll concede. Why not let you have the Captain’s position?”

The Captain straightforwardly stated his willingness to give up the position.

As both understood, prolonging the conflict offers no benefit, as they both represent problematic entities.

The best approach was to consider each other’s offenses as nonexistent.

This was exactly the outco Pierz desired.

“Okay.”

Pierz smiled and began his attack.

Against the Captain, he dared not underestimate him in the slightest, and he was fully following Jia Yan’s directions in his movents.

Thankfully, the Giant race was exceedingly strong, and their massive bodies in combat, every punch and kick was extrely swift; however, due to their size, despite Jia Yan’s instructions, Pierz had ti to adjust.

It was like a creature hundreds of kiloters tall battling.

Though from Jia Yan’s perspective, their movents appeared slow, that pertains to their entire body. Observing just a fist, especially a specific part of the fist, was shockingly swift to the point of awe.

Under such circumstances, Jia Yan could guide the battle.
