Garius leaned back in his chair, a smirk playing on his lips.

"Alf?"

Alf stepped forward from behind him, adjusting his glove.

"Yes, Your Majesty?"

"So..."

Alf smiled softly. "Yes, Your Majesty. I already ensured our command center was monitoring this Mathrias estate and its surroundings before we even arrived. Thanks to Prince Javier’s inventions, especially the surveillance system from Sky Eyes and the mana satellite network, our special shadow units and related divisions have beco far more effective, making them the strongest and most dangerous in their fields. We’re able to monitor without risking personnel or exposing our units."

Alf smirked and nodded. "As you suspected, Your Majesty. One of them flinched the mont they saw ." He paused, his tone asured. "Let’s just say...he around Lord Rolland."

"Mm...i already know who it is." Garius shook his head.

"Yes, Your Majesty. But I suspect there are more than just one. I believe there are at least seven individuals within the Mathrias estate involved."

"Tell our units to ensure these suspects are monitored, where they go, who they et. And ensure all Armand personnel remain cautious while we’re inside this estate. We don’t want to risk their safety. Even if we know all our personnel are wearing the best gear available, even with special magic barriers infused, I don’t want any of our units becoming complacent or careless."

"As you command, Your Majesty."

anwhile.

Outside Gracelle’s room.

Two senior Mathrias maids were trying to get inside.

"It’s our responsibility to look after our young lady!"

Both Armand guards, Garak and Marcor, stood blocking the door.

"Step back, ma’am. Or we will use force."

"But we have orders from our lord! Surely you two understand that!" The maids tried to use duty and orders as an excuse, insisting they were following Lord Rolland’s instructions.

Garak crossed his arms and glared at them, still blocking the door. "Still a no. Besides, we have orders from Prince Javier not to let anyone in except Armand personnel and family."

The two maids shouted back. "But we have orders from our lord!"

Marcor placed a hand on the mana gun at his side and raised his palm, his expression growing stern. "Your lord’s orders do not supersede those of an Armand Prince. His rank is higher than your lord’s."

"But Armand isn’t our ruler! Mathrias is part of the Human Kingdom, not Armand! Your prince’s title ans nothing here!"

Garak kept his arms crossed, glaring hard at them. "And yet your Human Kingdom was unable to do anything when neighboring noble regions planned to attack Mathrias, forcing your lord to send a letter to our King of Armand asking for help. Do you want to continue? Your own healers, priests, and even the Human Kingdom’s best couldn’t treat your lady for years!"

Marcor’s glare sharpened. "Let tell you sothing, bitch. We don’t care who your lord is. Even if your King Kimar himself ca and ordered us, we wouldn’t flinch. Our orders from our Prince and King are absolute. No one cos in. And I wouldn’t hesitate to kill you both here if you insist."

"Step back while we’re being nice." Garak glared and warned. "Besides, there’s nothing for you two to do. Your lady is in critical condition, unconscious and under dical care. A maid’s duties are irrelevant right now."

"Yeah." Marcor moved his hand from his mana gun and reached for the magic blade behind his back. "It’s really suspicious how you two are insisting to enter. You better scram now. When our prince gives an order not to let anyone in, it ans I have the authority to treat anyone who forces their way in as an enemy, and killing is the only option."

Marcor’s aura intensified as he drew his blade and shifted into a fighting stance. "Step back now."

Mathrias guards around them unsheathed their swords, raised shields, and prepared for battle.

Garak let out a long exhale. Seeing the Mathrias guards who had unsheathed their swords and raised their shields into fighting stances, while Marcor had already drawn his second magic blade.

Another dumbass who thinks they can fight with old weapons and armor.

Garak glanced at Marcor, who had fully activated his aura.

And here’s another hot-blooded soldier who takes orders seriously and treats any threat as a direct challenge.

"Garak... contact the battle maids inside. If we fail to hold them, ensure they use full power to protect the patient at all costs."

Garak exhaled again. "Do you even think these eight guards around us can get past this door?"

He scratched his head and exhaled while his hand reached for a small rod from his side, looking at Marcor who was already ready to kill.

He pressed the rod, and a full barrier ford, blocking the area from the wall to the door, with both of them standing safely behind it.

Marcor’s eyes widened before narrowing at Garak.

"What?"

Garak just whistled while watching the Mathrias guards swing their swords, only to hit the invisible barrier with a shower of sparks as their blades struck the magical wall.

"Gih! I was going to at least take down so of them! And now you ruined it."

Garak let out a soft laugh and shook his head. "Save so of your energy. Besides, we haven’t even had our Armand lunch yet. And this..." Garak pointed toward the Mathrias guards, who were now in a rage, repeatedly hitting the barrier with their swords. "...is much more fun to watch."

Marcor shook his head and let out a long exhale.

Garak chuckled and glanced at him. "Aw~ don’t be that disappointed. I know you love so action, but it’s better not to cause a huge scene. Especially when we’re guests here, even if they’re acting like fools."

Marcor looked at him. "But our prince’s order is absolute. We should eliminate any threat that tries to interfere."

Garak laughed again. "Did you forget what Prince Javier’s order actually was? ’Not let anyone co in.’ Not ’kill everyone who tries.’ And this barrier counts perfectly as following that order." He smirked. "Even if I know you could easily handle these..." Garak glanced at the enraged Mathrias guards. "...bastards, sotis the smarter move is to avoid unnecessary bloodshed. We’re here to protect, not to start a war."

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever. Damn. Why do they always make partnered with you?"

"Heh. It’s because I’m the brain, and you’re the strength."
