Javier chuckled, his voice carrying a hint of dark amusent.
"Even if I want to finish them with my own hands, Father is soone who never gives anyone a chance once he marks them. Knowing him, he won’t let any of them have even the slightest opportunity to escape or fight back. He’ll crush them completely."
He sat up and stretched his arms above his head.
"So my mission is to lure and capture the others they send next. And from the spying I did with my mana glasses earlier, especially with the audio micro drone and the new magic system I updated, that Vane guy will send them both, along with their party."
Javier’s face turned serious, his voice dropping to a low murmur.
"They think they can invade our lands, slaughter innocents, and walk away unpunished. They’ve killed, tortured, and plundered without remorse. Their sin is written in the blood of the people they’ve wronged. And I will make sure they answer for every single one of them."
Javier glanced around before slowly standing up, brushing off his beggar clothes.
"Well... since there’s nothing to do and I don’t feel sleepy, how about we take a walk? Maybe to the forest nearby?"
"Cuquawked!" Buddy stood up in excitent, his feathers ruffling with anticipation.
Javier grinned and jumped up, mounting Buddy in one smooth motion.
"Let’s go sightseeing while we wait. Those bastards won’t be moving until the next dawn, and they’ll arrive here in about two or three days, since they’re still using horses. If they used pekko, they’d be here in three to five hours or less."
"Cuquawked!" Buddy puffed his chest out proudly, letting out a triumphant squawk before starting to walk with a smug, confident stride.
Javier leaned back slightly, putting both hands behind his head with a cheeky grin.
"Well... I’m sure Father is already enjoying the golden knight I gave him. And knowing him, he’ll inject his mana and make so adjustnts once he checks it with his Eyes of Truth. He’ll see every flaw and every potential improvent. Damn that eye. It knows everything, every weakness, every possibility for enhancent."
"Cuquawked!!" Buddy let out an agreeing squawk.
Javier smirked. "Well... let’s see how strong those golden and silver knights beco once Father powers them up with his magic and mana. And I’m sure he’ll show Alf how to improve the silver knight as well."
He rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Since pekko feathers have magical properties, I wonder if Father will use Giddie’s golden feather to enhance it even further. Right, Buddy?"
"Cuquawked!" Buddy narrowed his eyes, giving Javier a sharp side glance.
"What? Giddie is your father and the king of all pekko." Javier gave him a teasing grin. "Still scared of your old man, huh?"
"Cuquawkedd!!" Buddy let out an indignant squawk, ruffling his feathers.
Javier rubbed the back of his head with a sheepish laugh. "Ah... I guess we’re both the sa, huh? Scared of our own fathers. Ahahaha."
While Buddy kept his smug stride, Javier’s eyes fixed on his gleaming orange feathers, shimring in the sunlight.
"Hmm?" Javier tilted his head, his gaze locked on the feathers as a sudden idea sparked in his mind.
He kept staring, his lips slowly curling into a manic grin.
"Wait a minute..."
"Cuquawked?" Buddy turned his head and glanced at Javier suspiciously, narrowing his eyes when he saw that familiar, dangerous grin spreading across his rider’s face.
"Since Father and Alf already have the golden knight and the silver knight..."
"Cuquawked?"
"And when they enhance them with their power..." Javier’s grin widened, his eyes gleaming with excitent. "I don’t think I’m getting those back. Father’s probably already planning to keep them for himself."
"Cuquawked..." Buddy let out a resigned sigh, shaking his head slightly.
"How about we craft a new motion control knight for ? Heheheh~" Javier’s voice rose with manic glee. "One with a bronze color~ And we’ll enhance it with your feathers, Buddy~"
"Cuquawked..." Buddy shook his head slowly, still walking with his proud, heavy strides.
"Aw, co on! Don’t you feel excited? We’re going to make the best motion control knight, specially crafted just for ! With your feather’s magical properties and colored just like you, my best pekko!"
"Cuquawked, cuquawked." Buddy bobbed his head thoughtfully, his large beak dipping slightly as he considered the idea.
Javier grinned, undeterred. "Just imagine it, Buddy! A bronze knight, gleaming like your feathers, powered by your magic! It’ll be unstoppable!"
"Cuquawked~"
Javier patting Buddy’s feathered neck. "I’ll take that as a yes! Once this mission is over, we’re starting the project. Bronze armor, orange feather inlays, and maybe a few special surprises~"
Buddy let out a proud, dismissive squawk, lifting his head high as he continued his smug stride, his orange feathers gleaming under the sun.
anwhile.
In Armand Estate.
Francesca let out a long, weary sigh, with Erinette standing gracefully at her side. Both of them watched as Garius and Alf huddled together, whispering excitedly in front of the golden knight and the silver knight. The chest plates of both knights had been opened, revealing their intricate magical cores, glowing softly with pulsing runes.
"Erinette..."
"Yes, my lady?"
"Look at our husband." Francesca gestured with a slight tilt of her head toward Garius, who was pointing at the core with enthusiasm while Alf nodded along, equally engaged. "They’re like children who just received new toys. And now that they’ve discovered the potential for enhancent, they simply can’t contain themselves."
Erinette adjusted her maid dress and smiled, nudging her glasses up with a graceful movent.
"That is simply how n are, my lady, especially when it cos to matters of craftsmanship, power, and innovation. Once they see the potential for improvent, their curiosity and excitent take over. It is a sign of their passion and dedication."
Francesca shook her head, a fond smile spreading across her lips. "I suppose you’re right. At least they’re having fun."
Francesca rested her cheek on her palm, a soft, fond smile playing on her lips as she watched Garius from a distance. He was completely absorbed, his hands moving with precision as he examined the golden knight’s core, muttering sothing to Alf about rune alignnt and mana flow.
"I wonder what my youngest son will think when he sees his father modifying his invention without asking."
Erinette smiled, her voice calm and knowing. "I believe Prince Javier already knows, my lady. He is well aware of His Majesty’s nature. If anything, he likely anticipated it. After all, he gave His Majesty those knights knowing full well that they would be studied, improved, and adapted. If anything, I suspect he left certain aspects open for modification on purpose."
Francesca let out a soft chuckle. "That does sound like him."
