Chapter 650: Dark Ascension ( 650 )
Gurdan lay in his grand bed, deep in slumber—bare chest rising slowly with each breath, arms relaxed, completely unaware.
But the shadows in the room told a different story.
The Seventh Units had already infiltrated the royal chamber. Silent. Surrounding the bed from every angle. Blades drawn. Spells prepped. Their eyes locked onto the target.
The First leaned forward and whispered, barely audible.
“Ready… on my signal.”
But before anyone could move, the Seventh scoffed, smug as ever. “What? He’s a weakling. I can kill him alone.”
The Fourth gritted his teeth. “Don’t talk like Gurdan is so palace guard. He’s a king. A celestial vessel.”
Seventh sneered. “Hah! Like I care. Watch this—let show you how strong I am.”
Before the First could stop him, Seventh’s body surged with dark magic. He leapt into the air, blade glowing, descending in a direct kill arc toward the sleeping Gurdan’s neck.
But before the strike could land—
BOOM!
Seventh was blasted mid-air by an invisible force, slamming him hard into the stone wall with a deafening crash. Dust fell from the ceiling. The bed didn’t even move.
Gurdan slowly stirred.
His eyes opened, glowing faintly with a malicious golden hue.
He sat up, flexing his neck with a loud crack, and smirked.
“Well… well… well…”
He looked around at the figures in his room with eerie calm.
“Looks like the entire dessert plate of seventh trash is here.”
He stood, muscles tense, mana swirling faintly around him like heat.
“Aren’t you worried about your king?” he asked, eyes narrowing.
“Because he’s not the only one who sent a special weakling unit tonight.”
He smiled wickedly, teeth showing.
“Ohh~…” Gurdan licked his lips slowly, savoring the mont as if tasting a rare delicacy.
His eyes shimred with a twisted hunger.
“He sent sothing… delicious,” he whispered, mana crackling faintly across his fingertips. “Sothing that can make even stronger.”
He tilted his head, grinning darkly.
“Ahh~ thank you, Edmund…”
Another slow lick of his lips, as if imagining the power already coursing through him. The air in the room thickened—unseen pressure tightening like a noose.
The First narrowed his eyes, body tense.
“…He’s fully awakened.”
Gurdan’s smirk widened.
“Well then…”
His voice dropped, low and venomous.
“How about all of you just surrender—hmm?”
He spread his arms, invitingly.
“Beco food for my celestial. No struggle, no pain. Just sweet… power.”
He leaned forward slightly, eyes glinting with malice.
“Don’t worry… I’ll make good use of your abilities. Your strength won’t go to waste~”
The celestial aura began to seep through the room like ink bleeding into water—dark, heavy, pulsing.
From the shattered rubble, a figure slowly erged—dust swirling around him like a rising demon.
It was Seventh.
He brushed blood from his lip, then stretched his neck with a loud crack. His grin widened, wild and unhinged.
“Ohhhh~” he purred, eyes glowing with dark energy. “It’s been so long since I found soone this strong.”
He stepped forward, dragging his blade along the floor, sparks trailing behind.
“I’m getting excited.”
The rest of the unit stayed silent, watching as Seventh exhaled sharply and pointed his blade at Gurdan.
“Don’t worry, Gurdan!” he shouted, eyes blazing. “Your life ends today!”
He reached into his magic storage ring—and Seven heads rolled out across the floor, stopping at Gurdan’s feet.
The severed heads of halfling elites.
Their expressions were frozen in terror.
“The special unit you sent to our king…” Seventh sneered.
“Was this?”
He laughed—low, echoing.
“They were strong… sure.”
He stomped one of the heads lightly with his boot. “But let’s just say…”
He lifted his blade and pointed it dead at Gurdan, pupils narrowing.
“They were also too weak.”
Gurdan’s head lowered—his long hair casting a shadow over his face.
At first, only a faint sound escaped his lips.
“Hu… hu… hu…”
Then it built—into a low, guttural chuckle.
“Kukuku…”
“GYAAAAHAHAHAHA!!”
His voice erupted like thunder, echoing through the royal chamber. Veins pulsed along his neck and arms as his muscles tensed unnaturally. The golden glow in his eyes exploded into a blinding, sinister light.
“YESSSSS!!!” Gurdan roared.
The air around him warped, a shockwave bursting outward as his mana spiraled out of control.
From deep within, a new voice echoed, layered with his own—a distorted, celestial voice taking hold.
“We’ve found it… a better enhancent…”
The celestial was rging—fully possessing Gurdan’s body now.
His skin shimred with divine symbols. His teeth sharpened. His already stout fra twisted into sothing monstrous—refined but feral. The room darkened as if the walls themselves feared what stood there now.
“MAKE POWERFUL!!” Gurdan scread with maddened glee.
“DEVOUR THEM—ALL SEVEN OF THESE TRASH!!”
He slamd his fists together, shaking the floor.
“And once we’re done here… we’ll go after Edmund next!”
He laughed again, wild and frenzied.
“I know that bastard is nearby—watching. Waiting. He thinks I’m just another pawn.”
He opened his arms wide, muscles glowing, power radiating.
“Co on, you celestial scraps. Let feast on your despair!!”
The First stood firm, his eyes locked onto the grotesque form Gurdan had beco.
No hesitation. No fear.
He raised his right hand—fingers spread.
The signal.
“Now,” he commanded sharply. His voice was calm, but every word carried weight. “Activate your power. Maximum capacity. Hold nothing back.”
Each of the Seventh Unit responded instantly.
Mana exploded from their bodies—dark, violent, precise. Their disguises shattered away, revealing their true forms, armored in enchanted gear and embedded with runes glowing like veins of power.
The Second clenched her daggers, wind magic spiraling around her like a storm.
The Third’s skin hardened with earth enchantnts, fists glowing hot.
The Fourth vanished into thin air—only a shimr left behind.
The Fifth hovered, lightning cracking from her limbs.
The Sixth took stance with her cursed twin spears—blades humming.
And the Seventh?
He was already grinning like a madman, his aura burning black with chaos.
The First’s eyes sharpened.
“Our king is waiting.”
“We are not here to win. We are here to weaken him.”
“Do not get caught. Prioritize survival. Deliver damage. Leave scars. And move.”
“Yes, Leader!!” they shouted in unison.
The castle trembled as seven elite assassins vanished into motion—unleashing every ounce of their power in a coordinated, deadly strike toward the possessed Gurdan.
