Fujiwara Seiho and his group were swiftly chasing the cat down the corridor, but how could two legs outrun four? Cats are agile and nimble animals, and after a few minutes of pursuit, the group realized they had completely lost their bearings, and the cat was nowhere to be found.
A fork in the road appeared ahead, and no one knew which hole the cat had slipped into.
"Damn it!"
Fujiwara Seiho was exasperated. He yanked off his hat and ran his hand through his hair, clearly frustrated.
Gao Yuyuan and the others were also panting, looking dejectedly at the dark hole ahead.
The entrance was pitch black, like a monster opening its maw, ready to devour them at any mont.
And at this mont, Oil Rat seed to have discovered sothing and suddenly exclaid, "Damn, that man nad Long is missing!"
Upon hearing this, everyone quickly turned their heads and looked in the direction they had co from.

Oil Rat’s words seed reasonable, leaving Gao Yuyuan speechless, his face turning livid with anger.
Indeed, it wasn’t Oil Rat’s fault. Given the situation, even Gao Yuyuan and the others were just focused on following the cat out of that creepy place, and no one cared about the stragglers like Oil Rat and Long Shan Zhang.
Soone had disappeared, and they didn’t know when they got separated. They had run through so many bifurcated corridors, and going back to find the person seed impossible.
A shadow crossed Fujiwara Seiho’s eyes, and then he indifferently waved his hand, saying, "Forget it, he was non-essential anyway. If he’s lost, he’s lost!"
Fujiwara Seiho’s nonchalant attitude was sothing the others were used to, and they didn’t find it troubleso, but for Oil Rat, it suddenly felt chilling, making him feel sothing was off.
Long Shan Zhang wasn’t a good person, but he was there to guide them. Without him, they wouldn’t have made it through the Eight Trigrams Array or gotten into Shenmuzhai’s Rear Mountain.
Now that Long Shan Zhang had outlived his usefulness, Fujiwara Seiho just discarded him like a worn-out cloth, and this attitude sent a shiver through Oil Rat’s heart, evoking so sympathy for their shared plight.
Both he and Long Shan Zhang were unwittingly dragged into this; Long Shan Zhang through Fujiwara Seiho’s threats, him by the lure of high rewards. But fundantally, they had no idea about the dangers awaiting them in the mountains. They didn’t even know what Fujiwara Seiho was after, ending up trapped in this maze by misfortune.
They weren’t any of Fujiwara Seiho’s trusted aides but outsiders. Just now, seeing the glimr of survival, everyone had desperately raced forward, not caring about him or whether Long Shan Zhang was left behind. Oil Rat figured that if real danger arose next, Fujiwara Seiho would probably use him as a scapegoat.
Recalling their entrance into this cave and seeing Fujiwara Seiho unhesitantly send the bodyguards to their deaths at the Poison Arrow Formation gave Oil Rat a chilling sensation, as if plunged into an ice cavern, shivering to the bone.
Looking at the composed Fujiwara Seiho, a sense of fear crept into Oil Rat’s mind.
This Dongyang fiend was truly cold-blooded, willing to sacrifice others to save himself. In his eyes, apart from himself, perhaps everyone else’s life seed as insignificant as ants.
Understanding Fujiwara Seiho’s nature, Oil Rat viewed the group differently. Despite trying to keep his face neutral, his mind was already scheming.
Fujiwara Seiho’s n wielded weapons, so a direct confrontation was a losing ga. Strategy was the only option. Once he got hold of the bomb-laden box, he had to figure a way to escape their control, shed these people, or it would be hopeless for him to leave alive.
With this plan in mind, Oil Rat discreetly observed his surroundings, eyes darting, ready to act when the chance arose.
While Oil Rat was plotting to snag the bomb box, Long Shan Zhang was stuck in the corridor, confused.
He had followed Fujiwara Seiho’s group but sohow ended up in another passage without them, facing a fork with no clue which way to go.
Just then, two eerie blue lights appeared in front of him, resembling the eyes of the cat he had seen before, leading Long Shan Zhang to assu it was the way forward, so he followed without thinking.
However, once inside, he realized sothing was wrong.
The corridor was silent, only echoing his footsteps. He called out several tis but heard no response from Oil Rat or Gao Yuyuan, only his own voice bouncing back, and even the blue lights had vanished.
Realizing he’d fallen behind, panic seized Long Shan Zhang, and he turned to retreat.
However, as soon as he turned, he collided with soone.
Not expecting anyone behind him, the collision sent him stumbling, and he fell to the ground.
Long Shan Zhang’s heart skipped a beat, his chest tightening with alarm.
Among the group, Fujiwara Seiho and Gao Yuyuan ran ahead, followed by bodyguards and Oil Rat. He was the last to react and, being overweight, couldn’t run fast, so he trailed at the end.
Logically, there shouldn’t be anyone behind him.
Then... who was this person he bumped into upon turning around?!
