After the phone rang, a few people looked around, not knowing whose phone was ringing.
It wasn’t until the phone rang several tis that Zhang Chao realized it was his phone ringing. He awkwardly stuffed the scattered bills in his hand into his pocket before hastily taking out his phone.
Zhang Chao thought the call was from his relatives finally coming to their senses, but when he looked at the caller ID, he was stunned.
It was an unknown number from the Imperial Capital.
Seeing this number, Zhang Chao was first confused. He didn’t seem to know anyone from the Imperial Capital, why would soone be calling him? Could it be a wrong number? However, thinking about it again, Zhang Chao suddenly rembered the rampant scam calls these days. Seeing the number again, he realized it was either a wrong number or a scam call.
Thinking this way, he simply turned off the ringer, letting the phone ring a few more tis until it beca a missed call.
The horoom teacher next to him found it odd that Zhang Chao didn’t answer the phone and couldn’t help but ask curiously, "Zhang Chao, who’s calling, why aren’t you answering?"
Zhang Chao smiled, "It’s from the Imperial Capital. I don’t know them; probably a scamr. No need to answer such calls."
Once the horoom teacher heard it was a number from the Imperial Capital, he laughed, "Indeed, no need to pay attention. Scamrs have so many tricks nowadays. If you’re not careful, you’ll get tricked."
No one would think that Zhang Chao knew anyone from the Imperial Capital since Fucheng is really far from the Imperial Capital.
Just then, as soon as the horoom teacher finished speaking, Zhang Chao’s phone rang again, this ti everyone’s eyes were on Zhang Chao’s phone, clearly seeing the incoming number.
It was still the number from the Imperial Capital!
"Hey, seems like this scamr is quite persistent!"
Seeing this, a guy standing nearby couldn’t help but laugh and snatched Zhang Chao’s phone, directly pressing the answer button. Without waiting for the other side to speak, he loudly shouted:

Zhang Chao was a bit baffled, not understanding why his usually sharp-tongued friend suddenly beca mute, even blushing, with his eyes showing signs of awkward embarrassnt.
Though baffled, Zhang Chao took the phone, placed it to his ear, and calmly said, "Hello, I’m Zhang Chao. May I know who you are?"
The person on the other end paused for a mont before confirming again, "May I ask what your ID is on the Haijiao Forum?"
Zhang Chao was taken aback, instinctively exchanging a glance with his friend, a hint of surprise in his eyes.
Of course, his surprise was not due to the question about his forum ID, but because the voice on the phone was a female, and a very sweet, clear voice at that.
Zhang Chao didn’t understand why this person would call his phone, nor why they would ask for his forum ID na, but after hesitating for a mont, he figured it out.
Even if the person was a scamr, he was now broke, with nothing to be scamd, so after a pause, he calmly replied, "The ID is ’I’m Super Zhang’.
After hearing Zhang Chao’s answer, the person on the other end seed to sigh in relief as her voice softened slightly:
"Then there’s no mistake. Hello Zhang Chao, I am Huo Sining. I apologize for calling you out of the blue, I hope you don’t mind. I went through quite a bit to find your number, contacting the Haijiao Forum’s headquarters to obtain your registration information where your phone number was listed. I called with the intention to try my luck, and if I disturbed you, I apologize here."
The female voice on the phone sounded unusually pleasant and sowhat familiar, but these weren’t Zhang Chao’s concerns. After hearing the self-introduction from the caller, he was completely stunned; his mind went blank, unable to hear anything else the woman said.
Several monts passed before his lips trembled, asking in disbelief, "Who... who did you say you were?"
"I am Huo Sining. Sir, do you know about the Beast Head incident recently?" the person from the other end asked tentatively.
Zhang Chao closed his eyes and then opened them again, a slight cold smile appearing on his face. He spoke casually to the caller, "Is this a new scam?"
Without waiting for the other person to respond, he quickly hung up the phone.
However, after hanging up, Zhang Chao took several deep breaths before calming his mind, his heart nowhere near as calm as his face suggested.
Seeing Zhang Chao like this, the horoom teacher along with the other two friends looked at Zhang Chao with surprise, especially the guy who had answered the phone earlier, was completely baffled:
"No way, Chaozi, why did you hang up the call? Who was it just now? It can’t really be a scamr, right? But it didn’t sound like it. I heard the person saying she was looking for Zhang Chao, so she should know you. Plus, her voice was really nice, didn’t sound like those scamrs."
Zhang Chao rolled his eyes at the guy, annoyed, "Do scamrs write ’scamr’ on their faces? A nice voice is just to confuse you sound lovers; otherwise, how would they scam people? This person said her na was Huo Sining, do you think that’s believable?"
"Pfft—"
Upon hearing Zhang Chao’s words, both friends couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
"Huo Sining, haha, why not say she’s the First Lady instead? So funny, these scamrs really are bold thinking of everything!"
"Exactly, treating everyone like fools, these scamrs really keep up with the tis, even coming up with such scams, unbelievable!"
Zhang Chao also found it amusing, but after hanging up, he felt a pang of indescribable loss. He couldn’t help but shake his head, suppressing the unusual emotions in his heart.
The horoom teacher standing by was sowhat puzzled, unable to restrain his curiosity and asked, "What Huo Sining, what are you guys talking about?"
