Seeing this, Yue Shuwen on the side imdiately panicked.
Sure enough, after the chubby girl opened the door, the man in the baseball cap standing at the door looked a little surprised. Then he craned his neck to peer into the hotel room, and after confirming there were no other adults inside, this stranger suddenly scooped the chubby girl standing on the floor into his arms, turned around, and headed straight for the elevators.
Very soon, the elevator went all the way down to level minus one. The man took the chubby girl straight into the underground parking lot and quickly vanished from the surveillance cara’s field of view.
"Niuniu is usually pretty wary. She won’t even let Wu Jun hold her, so how co this ti she runs into so strange man and doesn’t cry or fuss at all, just lets him carry her off like that?"
Watching the footage inside the elevator, Gu Xu saw that after the baseball-cap man picked Niuniu up, she didn’t react at all. She stayed obediently curled up in the man’s arms, just like she was his own kid, perfectly docile. This was very strange, and not just to Gu Xu—Wu Jun and Yue Shuwen both unconsciously frowned.
But Huo Sining had already noticed how odd this chubby girl was. The mont that man in the baseball cap lifted her up, the little brat "casually" turned her gaze toward the cara in the hallway, and even deliberately blinked, a sly glint flashing in her eyes.
Huo Sining was sure it wasn’t her imagination. That chubby girl definitely knew exactly what was happening. The subtle look on her face when she blinked at the cara was clearly warning Huo Sining not to stop her from making trouble—she was about to unleash a big move and play them all!
Huo Sining felt her brows twitch, a surge of pent-up anger clogging her chest, stuck in her throat and refusing to co out.
She already knew what this little fatty was trying to do.
This damn girl had clearly been cooped up in the hotel too long and was itching to find so fun.
Ever since this kid "broke out of her shell," thanks to Huo Sining’s warnings, it had mostly been Yue Shuwen and Gu Xu taking turns watching her in the hotel. She hadn’t had any chance to pull off so earth-shattering mischief.
This ti, though, so idiot actually delivered himself to her door, dumb as a rock. The chubby girl had just been bored out of her mind—no way was she going to let such a fun opportunity slip by.
Reining in all her violent aura and those high-voltage currents, she acted like an innocent, naive little baby, letting that stranger in the baseball cap carry her off just like that. Since the trouble hadn’t been started by her, she wasn’t afraid Huo Sining would bla her. She was only hoping that Huo Sining and the others would co back to the hotel a bit later, realize she was missing a bit later, so she could play to her heart’s content.
Once she knew the chubby girl had been carried off by soone, Huo Sining actually let out a breath of relief, while over on the other side, Gu Xu and Wu Jun’s faces had already darkened.
Gu Xu’s gaze turned cold as he looked at the hotel manager. "Mr. Xi, I’d like you to explain why the security in your hotel is this bad. A human trafficker can just stroll into your hotel and grab soone, then walk right out with a kid in his arms, and none of your security staff even notice? Is your security team just here to eat and do nothing?!"
The hotel manager had already been scared stiff the mont he watched the surveillance footage. Huo Sining and her group had been staying at the hotel for a while, and with Huo Sining’s fa now surpassing that of most top-tier celebrities, their presence was hardly a secret.
He knew who Huo Sining was, so of course he also understood that this man surnad Gu standing beside her had an even scarier background, absolutely not soone he could afford to offend.
Fucheng was just a small city, and they’d never had any celebrities co here before. This ti, their hotel had suddenly been chosen to host big shots like the Huo Sining couple. For the hotel, that was a huge pleasant surprise, so over the past few days the manager had been receiving constant orders from his superiors and the big boss to be careful in serving them, not to show the slightest negligence.
These last few days, the manager had been on edge, terrified sothing would go wrong. Seeing that these people were about to head back to the Imperial Capital, he had only just breathed a sigh of relief when he heard the news. The manager’s forehead was slick with cold sweat, but he still forced himself to stay calm. Under the icy gazes of Gu Xu and the others, his knees felt weak, and even his voice started to tremble.
But he wasn’t wrong. The most urgent task right now was to find the child. Even so, Gu Xu didn’t really trust the Fucheng Police. He knew that most traffickers were backed by local forces. If these people really ant to harm the child, then calling the police wouldn’t just expose the situation to the public, it might also delay the rescue.
"He left through the underground parking lot. Pull up the surveillance footage from there and check whether he drove off himself or left in soone else’s car!"
Gu Xu shouted at the staffer in the surveillance room, and right after that, almost without thinking, he took out his phone and called Yu Fei:

However, the surveillance operator also found sothing else odd: after that man entered the underground parking lot, only five cars drove out of the hotel’s parking lot in the following ten minutes.
If the person who took the child really was a trafficker, he definitely wouldn’t linger in the parking lot for long and would try to flee the scene as fast as possible. So among those five cars, there had to be the vehicle used by that baseball-cap man!
