"So, did you find anything from the number that sent the text?"
Gu Xu asked anxiously.
Yu Fei shook his head, "This phone number isn’t registered under any real na. Such numbers are widely available for sale, not processed at official outlets but bought from kiosks or train and bus stations as temporary SIM cards, so there’s virtually nothing we can trace."
"Can you track the location through the SIM card chip?" Gu Xu asked again.
"The person was very cautious. After sending the text, they quickly turned off the phone, so there’s no way to locate or track it." Yu Fei once again rejected Gu Xu’s idea of using satellite GPS tracking.
"Try to trace the number sequence. Generally, these unregistered numbers are sequential, and a batch of numbers would be in one person’s hands. Check who sold the card and see if you can get any valuable information from that person’s mouth!"
Slamming down the phone, Gu Xu’s expression darkened. In all his years with the Falcon Troop, he’d never felt so frustrated, being threatened like this made him feel unprecedented anger and annoyance.
Huo Sining initially wanted to keep things from Gu Xu, but seeing him hang up and then pick up his phone again, seemingly to call soone, she intervened.
"Who are you planning to call?"
Huo Sining hurriedly stopped him and asked.
Gu Xu was taken aback, looked up, and said, "Chen Dekun. I’m not too familiar with Fucheng, but Chen Dekun has been here before, he should know soone trusted to help us rather than relying on the Fucheng Police."
Huo Sining frowned upon hearing this.
She naturally knew Chen Dekun, and indeed, he was steady in his work and not a gossip, yet she did not want the Little Fat Girl’s issue to be further entangled with the military, as it would complicate matters even more, and knowing the Little Fat Girl’s abilities, the bigger the commotion, the worse it would be for her.
Realizing she couldn’t keep it hidden any longer, Huo Sining decided to co clean: "There’s no need. Niuniu is fine. We don’t have to alarm Chen Dekun. We can bring her back by tomorrow."
Gu Xu imdiately looked up, quite puzzled at Huo Sining, and it was then that he realized sothing was off.
Since realizing Niuniu was missing, he, Yue Shuwen, and even Wu Jun were frantic, as if ants on a hot pan, except his wife, who was calr than anyone.
He previously thought it was because she had experienced tough situations that she remained so composed, but now it seed that wasn’t the case at all.
"Wife, what do you an by that?" Gu Xu asked, bewildered, gazing at Huo Sining.
Huo Sining looked awkward, hesitated, and then said, "Well, I’ll confess, but can we go back to the room first?"
Not only were Wu Jun and Yue Shuwen around, but a few hotel staff were standing by. Huo Sining definitely didn’t want to expose Niuniu’s secret to these strangers.
Glancing at the people around, Gu Xu imdiately understood the aning in Huo Sining’s eyes, nodded quickly, and without further urgency to alert the police, he turned and led Huo Sining upstairs in the hotel.
Once they returned to the room, leaving Wu Jun and Yue Shuwen outside the door, Gu Xu looked seriously at Huo Sining, "Wife, what exactly is going on?"
Huo Sining sighed, "Do you rember how Little Fat Girl ca to be with us?"
Gu Xu said, "Of course I rember. Didn’t you say she was hatched from that egg you got?"
Huo Sining nodded, "The key isn’t there. The key is that little fat one absorbed millions of volts. While she and I are the sa species, we don’t share the sa attribute."
"Different attributes?" Gu Xu was thoroughly confused.
"I can’t explain it briefly, but it’s like this."
As Huo Sining spoke, she casually picked up a cup, and in a mont, it turned into an ice sculpture and quickly shattered into icy shards, scattering on the floor.
"I can easily control water molecules, instantly freezing any object, and I can move through water without obstruction, so water is my attribute," Huo Sining explained as she spoke.
"You an that Little Fat Girl also has an attribute, and hers is electricity?" Gu Xu asked incredulously.
Huo Sining nodded firmly, "Exactly. Whether it’s thunder or electricity, it’s one of those two. Back when she was still an egg, before hatching, Qibao was chased around by it, scaring him so much that every ti he saw that blue egg, he’d hide. So I always kept it in the storage ring and didn’t dare release it casually—it was just too aggressive."
"Later on, when she hatched into a baby, I assud her attack skills would weaken, so at first, I actually treated her like a human child."
"Who knew, that day, when Wu Jun was helping take care of her, that Little Fat Girl directly electrocuted him. If I hadn’t discovered it early, Wu Jun might have ended up in the hospital for a while."
Seeing Gu Xu struck silent with shock for a long mont, Huo Sining felt sowhat embarrassed herself, recalling the tis when Little Fat Girl insisted on his help with bathing and even vied to sleep with Gu Xu at night, showing a sowhat awkward expression:
"Additionally, there’s one more thing—I might have got it wrong, too. Jiaoren and humans have different growth cycles. Human age is counted from birth, but Jiaoren might not be like that. It could be that they are conscious and grow while still in the egg. Besides, you can’t tell a Jiaoren’s age by their appearance."
Gu Xu began to have a vague understanding of Huo Sining’s point: "So, you’re saying that the Little Fat Girl isn’t just one year old?"
Huo Sining nodded, "Correct, the Jiaoren’s lifespan is several tis that of humans, so we made a logical error at the start. That Little Fat Girl is actually over ten years old, but because she was stuck in that egg, she couldn’t get enough energy to grow, which is why her body hasn’t developed, but her ntal age is actually that of a teen girl."
Gu Xu suddenly broke into a cold sweat, realizing what Huo Sining ant. All along, he’d thought the Little Fat Girl was an infant and therefore hadn’t been cautious at all, leading to such a ridiculous misunderstanding; he’d been completely exposed to an outsider, and worse, his wife, being aware Little Fat Girl was like Lady of Tianshan, had knowingly concealed it from him!
