Chapter 875: Chapter 871: Trouble Cos Knocking
The car represents face, so people who do business generally choose a good car to support their image. Huo Sining’s target for a car this ti is a mid-range SUV. Mid-range cars are usually under half a million, not expensive, but cost-effective. As for why he’s buying an off-road vehicle, it’s because an antique shop inevitably needs to go to various rural corners to acquire goods. The road conditions aren’t good, and ordinary sedans with low chassis can’t handle such demands.
He went to the dealership with Li Quan and Qiao Zhenhuan. Li Quan and Qiao Zhenhuan instantly took a liking to the Audi A series, priced at 450,000.
Huo Sining is a straightforward person. Without asking much, he directly found the dealership manager, paid in full, signed the contract, and got the insurance. The whole process took no more than half an hour.
Seeing Huo Sining’s swift actions, not only Li Quan and Qiao Zhenhuan but even the dealership staff were sowhat stunned. It wasn’t until the car drove out of the dealership that the saleswon snapped out of their daze.
“Did we really buy this car?”
Li Quan was driving, his foot on the accelerator, still feeling a bit unreal, as if everything that just happened was a dream, so surreal.
Qiao Zhenhuan couldn’t help but roll his eyes, “Do you think the steering wheel in your hand is made of paper? If you don’t want to drive, hand it over to !”
Li Quan couldn’t be bothered with him. He was driving enthusiastically, not forgetting to touch and check out the car while waiting at the red light, fascinated by it.
Jubao Pavilion is the sixth shop on Liulichang Street, less than fifty ters from the street corner. Li Quan drove the car all the way to Liulichang and had just stopped at the door when a taxi stopped at the corner, and an old granny got out of the car.
When Huo Sining got out of the car, he casually glanced at the old granny but didn’t pay much attention. He got out of the car and walked straight into the shop.
Inside, Jiang Xiaoqin heard the movent and rushed out of the shop. When she saw the newly bought SUV, her eyes lit up, and she was so happy she almost jumped for joy.
Causing a commotion, the old granny who had gotten out of the taxi walked along the street, raising her head to survey the shop signs as she went.
She passed several shops, and finally, her gaze fixed on the new and conspicuous sign of the Jubao Pavilion. She stood at the shop door and didn’t move.
Qiao Zhenhuan had just finished smoking a cigarette at the door and hung up the phone call with his uncle. He was about to turn around and enter the shop when he saw an old granny standing at the entrance of Jubao Pavilion, seemingly hesitating.
Qiao Zhenhuan put out his cigarette butt and looked the old granny up and down.
The old granny had a headful of silver hair and a face full of wrinkles, looking to be at least seventy or eighty years old. But she was dressed neatly in traditional Tang Dynasty clothes, without a single crease, looking extrely elegant and dignified. Her hair was ticulously pinned with a black hairclip, showing she was a very particular person.
“Who are you looking for?” Qiao Zhenhuan hadn’t done business before, but he’d seen all kinds of people at the museum. Seeing this old granny, he felt she wasn’t an ordinary person, so he didn’t go straight into the shop and curiously asked.
The old granny turned her head to see Qiao Zhenhuan, hesitated a mont, then asked, “Young man, are you an employee here?”
The old granny’s voice was very kind. Normally, Qiao Zhenhuan acted proud, but in front of this old granny, he felt a bit ashad. Instinctively, he nodded and said:
“Yes, ma’am, would you like to see so antiques or cultural objects? I’m sorry, but our shop isn’t open yet. It’ll be so ti before we do. If you want to see sothing, how about I accompany you to another shop?”
The old granny smiled and shook her head, “No, I’m here to find soone. Is your boss here?”
Qiao Zhenhuan was taken aback, then realized what she ant and said, “You’re here to find our boss? Please co in, our boss is inside.”
He then opened the shop door and made a gesture to assist the old granny.
The old granny smiled and waved her hand, avoiding Qiao Zhenhuan’s support, and walked steadily into the shop.
Inside, Huo Sining and Li Quan were discussing sothing. Seeing Qiao Zhenhuan lead an old granny in, they imdiately stopped talking, turned around, and looked at Qiao Zhenhuan in surprise.
“Please have a seat, I’ll get you so tea!”
Qiao Zhenhuan politely led the old granny to the sofa. Just as he was about to get her so tea, the old granny stopped him.
“Young man, no need to busy yourself, can you call your boss over?”
Huo Sining and Li Quan exchanged glances and walked over to the living room, giving Qiao Zhenhuan a puzzled look, “What’s up?”
Qiao Zhenhuan also felt things were a bit strange, so he leaned over to Huo Sining and whispered, “This old granny was standing at the door just now. I asked her, and she said she was looking for the boss. I don’t know what it’s about.”
Upon hearing this, Huo Sining instinctively looked up at the old granny. Judging by her calm deanor and well-dressed appearance, she didn’t seem like a seller. Huo Sining couldn’t guess what this old granny was here for, so he nodded and gestured to Li Quan with his eyes.
Li Quan understood and sat down opposite the old granny, “Hello, ma’am, I’m the owner of this shop. How may I help you?”
The old granny looked at Li Quan in surprise, seemingly unable to believe that such a big shop had such a young owner. However, when Li Quan said he was the boss and neither Qiao Zhenhuan nor Huo Sining countered, the old granny imdiately realized he wasn’t lying.
Though surprised, she quickly composed herself, cleared her throat, and asked, “So you’re the boss? So young. Young man, I’m here to inquire about sothing. Did a young man in his twenties or thirties visit your shop yesterday and sell so items?”
Upon hearing this, Li Quan’s heart tightened, sensing sothing amiss. Yesterday, he, Huo Sining, and Jiang Xiaoqin were in the shop when a sneaky youngster ca in and sold his grandfather’s relics. How co soone is here asking about it so soon?
Li Quan instinctively exchanged a look with Huo Sining, and both had a peculiar expression in their eyes.
Li Quan nervously observed the old granny, quickly judging from her appearance and deanor that she must be soone significant.
“Are you that young man’s grandmother?” Li Quan tentatively asked.
“How did you know?” The old granny was even more surprised.
Li Quan secretly thought he was right. That sneaky young man selling his grandfather’s relics had to be up to no good. If the items were legitimate, why would his grandmother co looking for them?
