Within Sifang City, inside a certain inn.
Chen Mu and Yue i were in an intimate mont when suddenly there was a dull thud outside the door, accompanied by a child’s voice, and soone angrily kicked the door open.
Chen Mu hurriedly released Yue i from his arms and looked towards the door in panic.
In the doorway stood a middle-aged woman.
Her hair was sparse, her lips were narrow, her eyes were small, her skin was sallow and covered in spots, making her quite unattractive.
Behind her followed the Great Elder of Chang Luo who had rushed over upon hearing the noise.
This woman was none other than An Qiniang, the wife of the Great Elder of Chang Luo.
Chen Mu’s face showed embarrassnt.
An Qiniang, displeased, glanced at Chen Mu and the Yue i beside him.
Yue i’s hair was disheveled, her clothes half open, with suspicious red marks on her neck, making it clear what they had been doing.
"Chen Mu, what a good senior you are. An Yang dies tragically, and instead of avenging him, you’re here in broad daylight cavorting with such a shaless vixen," An Qiniang vented, having been jealous of beautiful won due to her own unsightly looks and the fact that her husband, the Great Elder of Chang Luo, often flirted with beautiful female disciples in the sect.
Adding in that the dear nephew she treated like a son, An Yang, had just died, her heart was afla with anger. Pointing at Yue i, she unleashed a torrent of verbal abuse.
But Yue i wasn’t the type to be easily bullied; hearing this ugly woman barging in and interrupting her good tis with Chen Mu, then further insulting her, she flared up, her beautiful eyes widened, ready to charge at An Qiniang to fight.
"Ugly wretch, who are you calling a vixen?"
"Shaless vixen, watch as I cut you down today," An Qiniang retorted, rolling up her sleeves, preparing to brawl with Yue i.
"Mistress, please don’t!"
"Nephew Yue, please show rcy."
Seeing the situation escalating, Chen Mu and the Great Elder of Chang Luo quickly stepped forward to diate, explaining both won’s identities.
Only then did Yue i and An Qiniang reluctantly lower their hands, though they continued to glare at each other with disdain.
Just then, angry accusations from a child were heard outside, as Long Baobao was held hostage by two disciples of the Hunyuan Sect.
"Let go!"
"Isn’t that the little ghost who was with Hei Yue?" Yue i recognized Long Baobao, surprised.
"Yes, it’s him. This little ghost caused An Yang’s death. My nanny only had one grandson, An Yang, and I demand this little ghost pay with his life," An Qiniang exclaid, having rushed to Sifang City upon hearing about An Yang’s death.
Upon arriving in Sifang City, her first action was to find this little ghost known as "Hei Xiaoling."
If not for needing to capture him to present to her nanny, she would’ve killed him on the spot.
"Kill him? An Qiniang, do you really believe this little ghost has the ability to kill your precious nephew? An Yang died after being struck by a giant rock. This little ghost is rely a powerless alchemist, he couldn’t have done it, there’s another who’s responsible for An Yang’s death," Yue i remarked, her rosy lips curving into a sly smile, and a sche forming in her mind.
Since yesterday, Yue i had been involved with Chen Mu, and her mind was now wholly focused on him.
She wouldn’t allow her man to have thoughts for another woman.
After noticing Chen Mu’s thoughts on soone nad "Hei Yue," she resolved to eliminate Hei Yue.
Yet she didn’t want to damage her relationship with Chen Mu, so she seized the opportunity when the fiery-tempered, ugly An Qiniang barged in. It was perfect to incite her to kill Hei Yue.
As expected, hearing Yue i’s words, An Qiniang queried further.
"What do you an by that? Wasn’t it the little ghost who killed An Yang?"
"I killed An Yang, it was nothing to do with anyone else," Long Baobao shouted defiantly.
"Shut up, little ghost. With your limited skills, you couldn’t have killed An Yang. Qi Niang, Nephew Yue speaks truth; An Yang was killed by Ye Lingyue, that malevolent woman also known as Hei Yue," Great Elder of Chang Luo interjected upon hearing for the first ti that Hei Yue was indeed Ye Lingyue.
He clenched his teeth with fury, reminiscing about how his daughter was turned into a pig by Ye Lingyue and remained missing.
Chen Mu stood to the side, alard by what he heard.
But with his master and Yue i present, he could only stew in silent anxiety.
"Hei Yue is also Ye Lingyue? Ye Lingyue, Ye Lingyue..." An Qiniang muttered, a peculiar expression crossing her spotted face.
"Wife, what’s wrong? Do you also bear a grudge against Ye Lingyue?" the Great Elder of Chang Luo asked curiously.
Judging by his wife’s typical reaction, upon hearing Ye Lingyue’s na, An Qiniang would have charged out to kill her.
"I knew there was sothing familiar about the na. So ti ago, our ancestor manifested to father, instructing him to find a woman nad ’Ye Lingyue.’ Incidentally, this Ye Lingyue shares the sa na, save for the surna, with the woman ancestor seeks," An Qiniang recalled.
A few months ago, the Great Elder of Chang Luo was leading disciples in training away from ho.
He had heard An Qiniang ntion the na in passing but hadn’t paid it much mind; even then, he recognized it was familiar until An Qiniang reiterated the matter today.
The Hunyuan Sect’s ancestor was no ordinary figure.
He had truly transcended to the Divine Power Realm, becoming a God beyond the Qing Province Continent.
Finding the person the ancestor sought would surely be a significant achievent, possibly earning rewards of incredible cultivation techniques if the ancestor was pleased.
Presently, aside from the Great Elder of Chang Luo and his disciple breaching rules during trials, the entire Hunyuan Sect scoured the mainland searching for "Ye Lingyue," shocked to stumble upon a similarly nad Ye Lingyue in Sifang City.
"Wife, but that Ye Lingyue is rely a teenager. Our ancestor hasn’t traversed the mainland in years; he shouldn’t know her. Could it just be a coincidence?"
The Great Elder of Chang Luo hesitated.
"Regardless, better to err on the side of caution than let her slip by. Besides, that Ye Lingyue killed An Yang. I want her to pay with her life. Once we capture her and take her back to the Hunyuan Sect, she’ll face whatever punishnt the sect deems fit," An Qiniang pondered aloud.
"But that Ye Lingyue is exceedingly cunning. She’s even allied with the Underworld Yama Palace and may prove challenging to handle."
The Great Elder of Chang Luo recalled the Beiqing Coup.
"Hmph. So what if it’s the Underworld Yama Palace? As if my Hunyuan Sect would fear an evil path. Don’t worry; with this little ghost in hand, that woman is bound to co to us," An Qiniang snorted coldly.
Nearby, Long Baobao listened, filled with dread.
Sister Yue, you mustn’t co, you cannot co.
Yet, the more one fears sothing, the more it draws into reality.
A sudden violent tremor shook the inn.
"Hunyuan Sect’s Ugly An, Old Beast Chang Luo, it was I who killed the person. Hand over Long Baobao!"
