Zhai Muchen noticed her nervousness and questioned, "Are you nervous?"
"N...No." Han Ruochen stamred, and when she heard her stuttering voice, she bit her tongue, wishing she could slap herself awake. What was wrong with her? No matter how great Zhai Muchen was, in the end, he was still a normal human being. Why was she acting like he was so sort of idol? She cleared her throat and then said in a low voice, "Brother Muchen, there is sothing that I wanted to discuss with you."
"Go ahead," said Zhai Muchen as he leaned back in the armchair.
He knew that Han Ruochen wanted sothing from him. If not, this woman would have never co looking for him. After all, this woman was quite stubborn in her own way. Zhai Muchen felt helpless; he hoped that Han Ruochen was more like other won who would try to get close to him. But the more he wanted to get along with Han Ruochen, the more she acted like a mouse who had seen a big, bad cat.
It was a really heartbreaking experience for him.
Han Ruochen had no idea what the man was thinking about. She collected her thoughts and then said in a low and honest voice, "It’s like this, Brother Muchen. I went to the sea today and caught these pearls." She took out the twin pearls that she had discovered in the sea and showed them to Zhai Muchen. "Can you introduce a channel to that can sell these pearls?"
Zhai Muchen sucked in a breath when he saw the twin pearls. He knew that Han Ruochen was quite fortunate when it ca to collecting and catching seafood, but he never thought that she would be this lucky. Look at this. She actually caught the twin pearls! Even though he had seen countless rare treasures, his gaze never shifted away from the twin pearls, as this was the first ti he was seeing such a beautiful pair.
He said to Han Ruochen, "Do you even know the aning of giving these pearls away to ?"
When Han Ruochen heard his question, she thought that the man was asking her if she was aware of the risky decision that she was making. She nodded after so pondering and stated, "I trust your character, Brother Muchen." Zhai Muchen was unlike other n who would end up getting greedy and steal a chunk of her money.
She trusted him enough to hand over the pearls.
After all, the auction houses were different from the ones in the future. Only those with special identities could enter these places; as commoners like her, they could only look for channels that could help them sell their things off.
When Zhai Muchen heard her response, he shook his head. He knew it. If Han Ruochen knew that the idea behind giving the twin pearls was sothing even deeper, she would have never given him these pearls. Twin pearls were said to be legendary things, and they had a story behind them. It was said that these pearls were created by a rmaid who gave them to her lover, who was a human.
Even though the rmaid knew that the two of them could no longer be together, she still wished to help the man as much as she could. Because of her dedication and the patience of the man, the goddess of the sea was moved, and she blessed the man with the ability to live with the rmaid in the sea. Ever since then, these twin pearls have beco the promise of eternal love.
Though the story had been circulating in the quad for quite so ti, the truth was that many people did not believe it, and of course, most of them scoffed at it, thinking it was just sothing that a few storytellers ca up with to sell these twin pearls at a high price. Even so, these twin pearls were still quite sought out by collectors who love collecting rare and unique things, just like Zhai Muchen.
Zhai Muchen, however, believed the old tale.
So, when Han Ruochen agreed to hand him the twin pearls, he could not help but ask if she knew what her actions could an. But from her reaction alone, Zhai Muchen could tell that she had no idea about the thing that he was talking about. He sighed helplessly. It turned out that he got happy for no reason.
However, since Han Ruochen did not know anything about this matter, it was better for him to keep it from her. Because if she ca to find the truth about these pearls, then she would definitely not hand them to him. He kept his thoughts to himself and took the pearls from Han Ruochen and said to her, "Alright, I will sell these off for you."
Of course, he had no intention of selling these pearls. If anything, he was thinking about keeping them and then selling them off to Han Ruochen at the highest price possible. Anyway, even if he were to take these to the auction house, he would have purchased them.
Han Ruochen agreed, as she had no problem with his suggestion.
What was more, she could feel a familiar pain in her abdon and wanted to leave before things went out of control. She couldn’t believe it. Usually, her aunt would skip coming over to see her, but this ti around, she was quite punctual! Maybe it had sothing to do with the fact that she was no longer malnourished as she was before?
She got up from the chair and was determined to do a hundred-tre dash toward the main gate.
"Hold on." However, no matter how fast Han Ruochen was, she was not as sharp as Zhai Muchen’s gaze. The man noticed sothing and caught her wrist. "You go to the toilet first. I need to be sowhere."
When Han Ruochen heard his words, she suddenly turned pale and rushed to the toilet. It seed like she realised it a bit too late!
