Aunt Tong could not believe that her son was actually going against her for a woman. She was the one who had raised him since he was a child, and now that he had grown up, he was actually fighting with her for a woman who did not even care about him in the slightest. After he finished speaking, he turned around on his feet and walked inside the house. He did not care about what her mother was thinking at the mont. He only wanted to marry Han Ruochen, and he did not care about how or what his parents would have to do to get him married to Han Ruochen.
"That...That...that boy!" Aunt Tong felt her head hurt when she saw how stubborn her son was being. How could he talk to her like that? She was the one who had raised him to be so big and strong. How could he speak to her in that tone?
Aunt Tong anxiously turned to her old man and asked, "What should we do now?"
Old Man Tong was smoking a pipe in quick puffs when he heard the question of his wife. He glared at her and said to her, "You are the one who made him stubborn like this. Who asked you to dote on him to the point that he stopped caring about right and wrong? Now look at the good thing you have done. That boy doesn’t even listen to us, and we are his parents."
Old Man Tong also had nothing against Han Ruochen becoming his daughter-in-law. After all, Han Yichen was a rich man. The dowry that Han Yichen would arrange for his daughter, plus the savings that Han Ruochen would bring to their house, would be really grand. With that alone, they would be able to live a good life. But if Han Ruochen was not willing, then what was the point in even trying to force her? It was clear that she had no intention of marrying his son.
"You are blaming now?" Aunt Tong was so angry that she trembled. She looked at her husband and said, "For whom am I doing this? Isn’t it because I want to make sure that Ah Yan will live a good life? How can you turn around and bla for doing sothing that will help us all in the end?"
"Alright, stop fighting!" Just as the two of them were about to start a quarrel, Feng He intervened between the two of them. She said coldly, "There is no point in getting angry at one another. I will let Zhaodi follow her for the ti being and then ask her to quit. I don’t believe that Han Ruochen will accept Yan’er if she has a lot of work and no one to help her."
Aunt Tong’s eyes flashed viciously. Han Ruochen was good at hunting seafood; it wouldn’t take long for her to start getting busier. She did not believe that if she forced Tong Zhaodi to resign when Han Ruochen was the busiest, that woman would still refuse to let her Yan’er work for her. She would definitely hire her son for a few days and then – humph – she would make him permanent.
