ng Yunhan’s face turned stiff when she heard Old Madam Han’s response. She raised her head and asked worriedly, "Mom, what do you an? I haven’t done anything. If you are upset about hitting Ruochen, then I was really just looking after her. She is young and naive. What if soone with bad intentions tries to harm her? The entire village now knows that Ruochen has earned a decent sum of money. She is bound to be targeted, as her mother, I am only looking after her and nothing more."
"The only person I see with a bad intention here is you! ng Yunhan, don’t try to fool . I am not my son, who will listen to your sweet talk and believe whatever cos out of your mouth. I know what is going on in your mind," said Old Madam Han. She was a woman, and a woman understood another woman the best. ng Yunhan could say whatever she wanted to, but Old Madam Han knew that she was just eyeing Han Ruochen’s money.
In fact, after seeing how much ng Yunhan was determined to get her hands on more and more money, Old Madam Han had started to get suspicious. Just why did this woman need so much money? Old Madam Han glanced at ng Yunhan with a wary look in her eyes. She had a feeling that there was more to the eye than she could see. No matter how greedy ng Yunhan was, there was no need for her to harp about not having money so much.

Even if Han Ruochen did not want to cook for her, she couldn’t finish everything. There would be enough rice and soup left in the pots for her to eat. ng Yunhan had the sa plan for tonight as well; she was going to sleep until Han Ruochen finished cooking, and once she was done, she would steal so leftovers when it was late at night. Anyway, Han Ruochen had never said anything to stop her. Since that was the case, why would she even bother cooking for herself?
"Who else?" Old Madam Han sneered. "If you won’t cook, then are you waiting for , an old woman, to cook for you and my son? Get up and go to the kitchen. Yichen has been working hard these days, so make sure that you cook at least a pot of fish soup and a at dish."
ng Yunhan was heartbroken. She wanted to take the at back to the county, so she gritted her teeth and bought a catty of pork belly. She slamd her fist on the armrest of the chair and said angrily, "You better not think about handing this piece of at to your maternal family."
