"Just wait, I am going to settle the scores with you later on!" Han Yichen was so mad that he could feel his blood flowing backwards. Usually, he wouldn’t dare to even glare at his wife, but now he was raising his voice at ng Yunhan. Seeing him like this, Han Ruochen heaved a sigh of relief. It seed like her father could still be saved from the clutches of this woman!
Han Ruochen didn’t say anything and simply stepped out of the room, acting like a good daughter. If Han Ziyan could do it, she could do it too.
Han Yichen, on the other hand, shot one fierce glare at ng Yunhan and then strode out of the room, looking absolutely livid. To think that ng Yunhan would be so bold as to keep quiet about spending such a huge sum of money. He only found out about it after three months! He really wanted to ask what this woman did with such a large sum of money!
Han Yichen stepped out of the room and patted Han Ruochen on the head as he walked past her. After looking at the passbook, he realised why ng Yunhan was so desperate to get Han Ruochen married and shift her job to Han Ziyan. Poor character? Led astray by bad people? All of these were just lies!
Han Yichen was a man who had braved a few storms. He could see through ng Yunhan’s little sches. She wanted Han Ruochen to hand her job to ng Yunhan so that she could use it to help Han Ziyan marry Yang Jianming and then sell that job for a profit and, at the sa ti, by making Han Ruochen marry a rich yet unfit man, she would be able to fill so gap in the hole that she had created with her own hands.

She had spent all the savings, heaven knows where and yet she still wanted his daughter to ruin her life in order to cover the loss? His wife was really too much. As he walked past Han Ziyan, Han Yichen narrowed his eyes suspiciously. Though he didn’t know where his wife had spent all the money, he had a feeling that it went into Han Ziyan’s pocket. His wife was just too biased towards this adoptive daughter; she was even nicer to her than she was to her children.
When Han Ziyan saw Han Yichen looking at her, she was scared stiff. She knew that her adoptive father was now doubtful about her involvent in this entire thing. Her face turned pale, and she wished she could wash herself clear, but Han Ziyan knew that she would never be able to do it. Everyone in the house was aware of how much ng Yunhan doted on her, since she had used all her family’s savings; the doubt was going to fall on her.
Han Ziyan felt scared, but at the sa ti, she was rather angry. Why? Why was she the only one being accused and not the others? Just because she didn’t have the blood of the Han family? This was simply unfair!
Han Ziyan was angry, but she knew that this was not the ti for her to make a fuss. She hurried over to where her mother was standing and whispered, "Mom, what should we do now? Second Grandpa Zhai really ca to look for us. What should we do? If he told dad that we have asked him to help us pull so strings for uncle, dad will be really angry. Who knows, he might even kick us out of the family?" She then lowered her voice and looked around before adding in a low voice, "What if he investigates the truth?"
"He won’t." ng Yunhan was just as scared, but she refused to admit that she was scared of Han Yichen. "I know Second Elder Zhai’s character. He might be a bit strict, but he is also strictly traditional. He might not like , but now that I am married to your father, he will not say anything that might ruin our marriage. After all, he believes that it was better to destroy a temple than a marriage. So, everything will be fine."
ng Yunhan trusted the old man’s character very much.
Second Grandpa Zhai was the kind of person who would never cause strife in soone else’s family. If he wanted to tell the truth to Han Yichen, he would have done that long ago; he wouldn’t have waited till now. He would have told Han Yichen about her request right away, but he didn’t, which proved that there was still hope!
"Second Uncle Zhai, what brings you here?" Han Yichen was very agitated upon seeing Second Elder Zhai. He didn’t have the face to et with the elderly, not when he married ng Yunhan, even when Second Elder Zhai fiercely rejected and disapproved of his idea. But he also missed him a lot.
"Second Grandpa Zhai."
Han Ruochen and Han Jianyou greeted the elderly with a polite smile, while Han Beijiang simply took a glance at him before burying his head into the crook of Han Ruochen’s neck.
"Second Grandpa Zhai, have so tea." Han Ziyan was reassured after what her mother told her. She ca outside with a cup of tea in an attempt to show off and suppress Han Ruochen, who was not good with words.
Second Grandpa Zhai knew that Han Yichen had three daughters. Two biological and one adopted, but all three of his daughters were kind and beautiful. He nodded at Han Ziyan and praised, "Xiao Han, you are fortunate to have such filial daughters."
Han Yichen smiled, but his smile didn’t reach his eyes. In the past, he used to think the sa, but now he no longer has such thoughts.
"Second Grandpa Zhai, please have so tea. I am really happy that you ca to visit us. Dad has always missed you, but he was scared to et with you. Now that you are here, I am sure that Dad will be reassured." Han Ziyan knew that Second Grandpa Zhai didn’t visit Han Yichen because of her mother and cleverly started to clean up the past.
Second Grandpa Zhai nodded with satisfaction. "Are you Ruochen?"
