To be safe, Mavi instructed everyone to move into the bulletproof glass enclosure on the top deck of the ship. This way, they could enjoy a full 360-degree, unobstructed view of the upcoming crash scene without worrying about being hit by shrapnel.
Faced with such a bold and audacious new chairman, Ubisoft's President Adams and R&D Director Jones were utterly stunned. Their minds went completely blank—they had never experienced such a terrifying scene before.
And to think, that was a Gulfstream G200 business jet worth nearly ten million dollars! Just like that, it was going to be blown up? Wasn't that too extravagant?
"Mr. Mavi, the Gulfstream G200 is now within range of our forces. Shall we proceed with launching the air defense missile to destroy it?" At that mont, a Russian Army Major respectfully sought Mavi's approval.
"Make sure not to hit my drones," Mavi reminded him. He had specially deployed several explosion-resistant drones to capture the spectacle up close.
"Rest assured, Mr. Mavi! Our SAM-20 air defense missile utilizes radio command guidance, TVM (Track-Via-Missile), and inertial guidance, boasting a single-shot kill probability of 80% to 95%. You can count on its precision!" The Russian Major pledged with confidence. This was an order from his superiors, and he was determined to execute it flawlessly.
Listening to Chairman Mavi speak so casually with a military officer, Ubisoft's President Adams and R&D Director Jones couldn't help but be in complete awe. At the sa ti, a deep sense of unease crept into their hearts—what if sothing unexpected happened?
Just as those thoughts raced through their minds, Mavi gave a firm nod to the Russian Major and said, "Go ahead. Fire."
The Major imdiately grabbed his radio and commanded the missile launch vehicles stationed on the shore, "Missile launch countdown: five seconds!"
"Five!"
"Four!"
"Three!"
"Two!"
"One!"
"Fire!"
As soon as the countdown ended, thick white smoke and bright red flas erupted from the two missile launch vehicles positioned on the shore.
Looking closely, one could see that two SAM-20 air defense missiles had been ignited and launched into the sky, streaking toward the Gulfstream G200 at high speed.
In the blink of an eye, the SAM-20 missiles accelerated to 1,500 ters per second, piercing the sky. Within monts, they reached their maximum velocity of 2,788 ters per second, racing toward the sleek, white business jet in the sky.
Before anyone could even react, the entire process—from launch to interception—took less than five seconds. That was all it took for the devastating SAM-20 missiles to reach their target!
In the next instant, they struck the plane with pinpoint accuracy.
A terrifying explosion erupted, followed by a blazing inferno, blossoming before Mavi and the others like a deadly work of art. No matter how many tis one witnessed such destruction, it never failed to be breathtaking.
The explosion's shockwave swept through the air, engulfing the surrounding atmosphere in flas and compressed air, instantly blowing two enormous, fiery holes into the Gulfstream G200's fuselage.
Debris and shrapnel, moving too fast for the human eye to track, scattered wildly across the blast radius. The scene was far more spectacular than any airplane disaster movie—because this was real. No special effects could replicate such raw destruction.
BOOM!
BOOM!
Since the explosion took place at a considerable distance, the thunderous sound waves took a full three seconds to reach the ocean surface.
Shattered wreckage and flaming debris rained down like a celestial teor shower, crashing into the sea. By this point, the Gulfstream G200, now a burning husk of its forr self, had lost all semblance of elegance. It spiraled downward in free fall, trailing black smoke as it plumted toward the distant ocean.
Ubisoft's President Adams and R&D Director Jones stood frozen, unable to utter a single word. Their wide eyes took in the entire scene, subconsciously imprinting the mory deep into their minds.
Without a doubt, today's events would stay with them forever. After all, this wasn't sothing just anyone could witness firsthand.
The severely damaged, smoke-spewing Gulfstream G200 finally slamd into the ocean, sending a massive tidal wave skyward. The impact was like a teor crashing into the Earth, causing towering waves dozens of ters high, equivalent to several stories.
Fortunately, Mavi's bodyguards had sealed off the surrounding waters in advance. Otherwise, any bystanders caught in the blast would have had no chance—even a hospital wouldn't be an option. They'd have ended up feeding the sharks.
"Beautiful shot!" Mavi grinned, turning to the Russian Major. He was confident that if the footage had been captured clearly, this would make for an explosive trailer for Counter-Strike: Battle Royale!
"No need to flatter , Mr. Mavi. This is just part of our duty," the Russian Major replied with a smile. However, his fierce expression made it hard to tell whether he was smiling or being serious—it was intimidating either way.
"Photography team, did you capture everything clearly?" At this mont, one of Mavi's Russian bodyguards picked up his radio and asked his team.
But strangely, only static and broken transmission sounds ca through.
"Photography team, respond if you hear ." The bodyguard repeated his call over the radio, but there was still no reply.
"What's going on?" Mavi sensed sothing was wrong and asked his n.
"No idea, young master. Maybe our radio signals are being jamd?" The bodyguard was puzzled. Their military-grade radios should function even in extre weather conditions—could sothing have really gone wrong?
Growing increasingly uneasy, the bodyguard tried to contact another team. "Periter unit, periter unit! Do you copy?"
Three seconds later, a garbled transmission ca through:
"This is Periter Team Three! Our signal is being jamd by an enemy warship! They're heading straight for us—it's the Japan Mariti Self-Defense Force!"
"Repeat! We have two Japanese frigates, ard with external weaponry and helicopters, approaching at full speed! Their electronic warfare systems are interfering with our communications! We need backup!"
The transmission cut off abruptly. Silence fell over the radio. No matter how many tis the bodyguard tried to re-establish contact, only dead air remained.
"Young master, what do we do? It looks like they've encountered the Japan Mariti Self-Defense Force in international waters. But that doesn't make sense! Our operations were set up near Russian territorial waters, and we haven't trespassed into their jurisdiction…" The bodyguard was utterly confused.
