"Yes, President Su is currently in his office." Lei Yingtai confird with a professional nod.
"Oh... and please arrange tomorrow’s eting for around one p.m., imdiately after the lunch hour." Yu Qi reminded her, her voice calm yet firm.
"Understood, Ms Yu Qi. I will see to it at once." Lei Yingtai replied, nodding respectfully.
Yu Qi stood up, smoothing out her attire, and made her way toward Su Yu Hi’s private office. As she approached the heavy doors, Lei Wong, Su Yu Hi’s personal secretary, imdiately noticed her presence and straightened his posture.
"Chairwoman Tang!" Lei Wong stood up quickly to greet her, his expression one of polite surprise. "Would you like to see President Su? I will inform him of your arrival imdiately so he can prepare."
"No... no..." Yu Qi stopped Lei Wong with a raised hand, a mischievous glint dancing in her eyes. "I want to surprise him. Just continue with your work and pretend I am not even here."
Lei Wong nodded understandingly and settled back into his seat, though he kept a watchful eye. Yu Qi knocked softly on the polished wood door and, upon hearing a muffled voice granting permission to enter, she turned the handle with practised ease. She saw that Su Yu Hi was deeply focused, buried under a literal mountain of docunts piled high before him. He did not even bother lifting his head to see who had walked in. She stepped inside quietly, approaching his desk with slow, silent footsteps that were swallowed by the plush carpet.
After a few monts of silence, Su Yu Hi instinctively noticed sothing was amiss. Soone had entered his inner sanctuary, yet they had not spoken a single word or announced their business. Puzzled by the lack of a greeting, he finally raised his head to inspect the intruder. The mont his eyes landed on her, a look of pure and unadulterated surprise washed over his features.
"Yu Qi? What on earth are you doing here?" Su Yu Hi asked, his voice thick with astonishnt, though anyone paying close attention could clearly see that he seed genuinely happy to see her.
He stood up so quickly that his chair rolled back, causing a few stray papers to flutter off the edge of his desk and drift toward the floor.
"You did not ntion that you would be stopping by the office today." Su Yu Hi stated, regaining his composure.
"Well, to be honest, I did not plan it either. But Sister Yingtai suggested I should co." Yu Qi replied smoothly.
Her lips curled into a playful, knowing smile as she watched his flustered reaction. She stepped closer, leaning casually against the edge of his heavy mahogany desk, crossing her arms.
"But seeing the sheer look of surprise on your face was worth the trip alone. You look like you have just seen a ghost, Brother Yu Hi." Yu Qi added with a lighthearted chuckle.
"Not a ghost, just the boss. And usually, when the boss shows up completely unannounced, it ans soone is in deep trouble." Su Yu Hi stated.
He seed to realize sothing in that mont. His expression shifted rapidly from surprise to a more discerning and professional gravity, his eyes narrowing slightly.
"I assu this unexpected visit has sothing to do with the internal audit report that Secretary Yingtai was finalising. I saw her heading toward your office earlier this morning with a very serious expression." Su Yu Hi stated.
Yu Qi’s playful deanour cooled instantly, replaced by a sharp and icy resolve that made the air in the room feel several degrees heavier. The atmosphere turned clinical and cold.
"Yes. You guessed right. That man, Chen Song, has been very busy turning my company into a private family retirent ho. Forty-seven new hires, Brother Yu Hi. Forty-seven! And out of that entire group, only six of them are actually qualified and know how to perform the work they are being paid for. The others... they only know how to push their own responsibilities onto the hardworking staff. And when they are finally confronted about their laziness, they beco incredibly arrogant, claiming that they have powerful connections with Chen Song. They are really quite impressive, am I right?" Yu Qi said in a joking tone, but her eyes flashed with a cold fire that said sothing entirely different.
Su Yu Hi sighed heavily, rubbing the bridge of his nose as a headache began to form. He had suspected there were growing inefficiencies in that particular sector, but the sheer, brazen scale of the nepotism was staggering even to him.
"I knew there was friction between the departnts, but I did not realise the rot went quite that deep. That Chen Song... he is very clever when it cos to masking the turnover rates and shifting the budget lines to cover the dead weight of his relatives." Su Yu Hi admitted.
"Don’t bla yourself for this, Brother Yu Hi. I know you have your own mountain of responsibilities to climb. But I promise you, he will not be clever for much longer. I have already instructed Lei Yingtai to gather the whole lot of them in the main hall tomorrow at one o’clock. I am going to personally oversee the ’restructuring.’ I want them to know exactly why they are being escorted out of the building." Yu Qi said, her voice dropping to a dangerous whisper.
Su Yu Hi looked at Yu Qi, taking in her steady gaze. Seeing the fierce protectiveness she held for the integrity of her business, he fully understood the weight behind her words.
"If you are handling it personally, I will make sure the security detail is doubled for the eting." Su Yu Hi paused before continuing.
