"I understand. I will truly make a concerted effort to find a healthier balance." Su Yu Hi said, his voice carrying a note of genuine sincerity.
"Do you happen to like wine?" Yu Qi suddenly inquired, the abrupt shift in the topic of conversation catching him completely off guard.
Even though Su Yu Hi felt slightly bewildered by the sudden change in their dialogue, he still answered her with his characteristic honesty.
"I do enjoy it, yes, but I don’t find myself drinking too often these days. My current schedule does not really allow for such indulgences." Su Yu Hi answered with a small, regretful shrug.
"If you would like, I can concoct a special batch of dicinal wine specifically for you. I can promise you that you will absolutely adore the taste, and more importantly, it possesses a multitude of significant health benefits, especially for soone as chronically overworked as you." Yu Qi offered, her eyes gleaming with expertise.
"Really? You would truly do that for ?" Su Yu Hi asked, his expression one of genuine, heartfelt surprise.
He was well aware that Yu Qi possessed the secret knowledge to brew dicinal wine. He had heard countless stories over the years that the elders Yu Qi knew often argued and fiercely competed over the ownership of a single bottle. Even the great, formidable tycoon Feng Mo, Grandpa Feng, had once nearly co to physical blows with Grandpa Tang just to secure a tiny, fleeting taste of the dicinal wine that Grandpa Tang possessed.
"Yes. I will personally make a special batch just for you." Yu Qi confird, nodding her head with a warm, reassuring smile.
"Thank you so much, Yu Qi. I really and truly appreciate a gift like that." Su Yu Hi said, looking exceptionally happy to be the designated recipient of such a rare and prestigious treasure.
"By the way, how exactly is your relationship with Sister Su Jin going these days?" Yu Qi inquired, deftly changing the subject to a matter that was far more personal.
It had been quite a significant amount of ti since Yu Qi had last crossed paths with Song Su Jin.
"Oh... Su Jin is not actually in the city at the mont. She is currently residing in the Capital City. She has just recently started working on a major new project." Su Yu Hi explained, his eyes visibly brightening at the re ntion of her na.
"A new television drama?" Yu Qi asked curiously, tilting her head.
"No, not this ti. This ti, it is a movie for the big screen. A high-budget martial arts movie." Su Yu Hi stated, a distinct hint of pride colouring his voice.
"Wow... That is absolutely amazing news. She is finally hitting the big screen and making her mark in cinema." Yu Qi said, feeling pleasantly surprised and happy for her friend.
"Yeah... She was incredibly excited and moved when she first received the final script. I think her role this ti is a very powerful and influential one. She is playing the part of a formidable female general." Su Yu Hi stated.
"A female general? That specific role suits her personality perfectly. She definitely has the commanding presence for it." Yu Qi remarked, her mind already vividly picturing Song Su Jin clad in ornate, shimring armour, commanding a vast army on the silver screen.
"I completely agree. She has been diligently practising her sword forms every single morning before heading out to the movie set." Su Yu Hi added, his eyes reflecting a complex mixture of deep admiration and quiet, soulful longing.
Yu Qi noticed the unmistakable look in his eyes and decided it was the perfect opportunity to tease him just a little bit more.
"It sounds to like you miss her quite a bit, Brother Yu Hi. Perhaps once I have finished ’restructuring’ the company tomorrow, you should take a few well-deserved days off and visit her in the Capital. The company will not collapse into ruin in forty-eight hours, I can promise you that much." Yu Qi teased with a playful wink.
Su Yu Hi coughed awkwardly into his hand, a slight, visible tint of pink appearing on the tips of his ears.
"I will certainly consider the idea. But first, let’s focus and get through the events of tomorrow. Are you truly prepared to face forty-one angry, terminated people all at once?" Su Yu Hi asked, feeling slightly worried about the potential for chaos.
"I am not just prepared, Brother Yu Hi." Yu Qi said, standing up gracefully from the desk and walking toward the door. She paused for a mont, her hand resting firmly on the handle, and looked back over her shoulder with a chillingly beautiful, confident smile. "I am actually looking forward to it. See you tomorrow at one o’clock sharp."
Just then, Yu Qi’s phone began ringing loudly.
"Is soone calling you at this hour?" Su Yu Hi asked.
"No. It is just a preset alarm. It is ti. I will leave now. You, too, should make sure to go ho early today." Yu Qi said to Su Yu Hi firmly.
"Hmm... I understand." Su Yu Hi nodded in agreent.
Yu Qi walked out of Su Yu Hi’s room. As the door clicked shut behind her, the heavy silence of the office returned, but the air still felt highly charged with the vibrant electricity she had left in her wake.
Su Yu Hi looked at the mountain of papers on his desk and, for the first ti in three long days, felt a surge of genuine, revitalised energy. He picked up his pen and got back to work with renewed vigour, knowing that by this ti tomorrow, the toxic rot in the company would be nothing more than a distant mory.
