"I understand perfectly. I will handle all the necessary logistics imdiately." Lei Yingtai replied, nodding her head with deep respect.
Her boss clearly possessed a deep knowledge of the man’s background and intentions, as she had agreed to the eting without a single mont of her usual hesitation or ticulous questioning. It was rare to see Yu Qi so decisive regarding a stranger.
A short while later, Yu Qi stepped out of the executive elevator and imdiately spotted Su Yu Hi waiting in the lobby. He appeared to have just returned from an exhausting and likely frustrating external eting, his shoulders slightly slumped from the day’s burdens.
"Yu Qi..." Su Yu Hi called out to her, his deep voice echoing slightly against the polished marble walls of the quiet lobby. He then turned to his personal secretary, Lei Wong, and gestured for him to head upstairs first to clear the way. "Go up ahead and prepare the briefing notes for our next session. I will co up in just a few minutes."
"Yes, President Su." Lei Wong nodded respectfully to both of them, acknowledging the weight of the mont before leaving the two of them alone in the vast, quiet lobby.
"How did the confrontation eting go? Was it as explosive and dramatic as we anticipated it would be?" Su Yu Hi asked, his eyes searching hers with genuine concern for any sign of lingering stress or worry.
"As expected, it went smoothly and precisely according to plan, even though we had a few uninvited and rather loud guests to deal with." Yu Qi replied, her lips curving into a small, tired smile of relief. Then she paused briefly, her expression turning deadly serious as she added, "So of those people are incredibly spiteful. They might try to use this mass termination as a weapon to attack our company’s image in the press or across social dia platforms, so please ensure that the legal and PR teams make all the necessary preparations well in advance."
"They truly want to try and tarnish our hard-earned reputation after everything they have already done to sabotage us?" Su Yu Hi asked, his brow furrowing slightly in deep annoyance.
"It is most likely. Given their current desperate financial situation and their complete lack of character, it is entirely possible, even probable, that they will try to play the victim to the public." Yu Qi nodded, her gaze cold.
"Alright... I will have the PR team draft a preemptive statent and prepare our legal defence just in case they decide to be foolish. We will be ready for them." Su Yu Hi nodded in firm, resolute agreent.
"If you need more specific details on the individual embezzlers or the hard evidence we uncovered, you can ask Sister Yingtai. She has already compiled all the relevant information into a single, comprehensive file for your review." Yu Qi added.
"I understand perfectly. Are you heading over to the hospital for your night shift now?" Su Yu Hi asked, his tone softening.
"Hmm... Yes, I need to check on my patients." Yu Qi nodded.
"Alright then... I am heading up to finish these remaining reports. I will see you later this evening." Su Yu Hi said warmly, offering a small wave.
Su Yu Hi stepped back into the elevator, while Yu Qi turned and made her way toward the basent parking lot. The air in the underground garage was cool, damp, and eerily silent. However, as she approached her sleek, high-end vehicle, her sharp and highly trained senses imdiately detected a subtle, unnatural disturbance in the air. Soone was hiding in the thick shadows behind the concrete pillar right next to her car, clearly lying in wait for her arrival with ill intent.
Yu Qi did not falter, nor did she show even a hint of fear. She did not even slow her pace. Instead, she continued walking toward her car with a steady and unhurried stride, though her attention was now fully and dangerously focused on the hidden presence.
She was only a few steps away from the pillar now. Seeing that the hidden figure was still crouching there and showed no intention of stepping out to face her, Yu Qi had no choice but to call him out directly.
"You can co out now. I know you are there." Yu Qi said calmly, her voice ringing out with authority.
Her voice echoed coldly against the low, heavy concrete ceiling of the parking structure.
"Unless, of course, you prefer to wait until I decide to drag you out from behind that pillar myself." Yu Qi continued, her tone turning significantly sharper and more nacing.
For a brief, heavy mont, there was complete and total silence. Then, a ragged figure slowly erged from the dark shadows. It was a man dressed in a dishevelled suit that looked as though it had been slept in for several days straight. His hair was a ssy nest, and his eyes were bloodshot, filled with a volatile mixture of desperation and simring, unadulterated resentnt.
Yu Qi studied his face carefully for a heartbeat and quickly recognised him. He was one of the n who had just been dismissed from the assembly hall earlier, a distant, entitled cousin of Chen Song nad Chen Bo.
"Oh... I saw you earlier today. You were one of the loudest in the hall." Yu Qi stated calmly.
"You... You heartless, cold-blooded woman!" Chen Bo spat angrily, his voice trembling.
It was painfully obvious that he was completely consud by a blinding rage over his sudden dismissal from the company.
"Heartless?" Yu Qi scoffed lightly, as if the word were a mild joke. "Excuse , but this is purely a matter of business, not emotion."
