Yu Qi, who had just taken a careful sip of her warm tea, nearly choked on the liquid. She coughed slightly and immediately shot Long Hui a fierce, warning glare, a beautiful blush creeping up her neck.
‘What on earth is this shameless man talking about right in front of my brother?! Does he have absolutely no filter or sense of shame left?’ Yu Qi gritted her teeth inwardly, wanting to kick his shin under the table.
Meanwhile, Tang Qin Hao showed almost no outward reaction to the suggestive ment whatsoever. He simply continued elegant, rhythmic movements with his chopsticks, eating his spicy noodles in dead silence as though his ears had registered absolutely nothing but static.
“By the way, Brother Qin Hao, when exactly are you leaving for the uping medical conference?” Yu Qi asked quickly, desperately changing the topic to cover up her burning embarrassment.
“Next month.” Tang Qin Hao answered succinctly between bites.
“Where exactly is it being held this year?” Yu Qi asked curiously, leaning in.
“Continent M.” Tang Qin Hao replied evenly.
Yu Qi paused for a brief moment, her hand freezing over her sandwich. She instinctively glanced across the table at Long Hui, her eyes serious. Long Hui also stopped what he was doing and looked back at her, his expression darkening subtly.
The two lovers exchanged a brief, loaded look. Neither of them uttered a single word, yet through their deep bond, they already understood exactly what the other was thinking regarding the dangerous, volatile political climate of that region.
“Are you travelling there alone?” Yu Qi asked again, her tone carrying a hint of hidden concern.
“I will be travelling with my chief research assistant.” Tang Qin Hao replied, entirely oblivious to the unspoken tension between the couple.
“So absolutely everything has already been arranged by the department?” Yu Qi continued to probe.
“Yeah. Transportation, hotel acmodation, and the official conference schedule have all been thoroughly settled. I just need to board the flight when the time es.” Tang Qin Hao said, wiping his mouth with a napkin.
“I see. Then I wish you good luck with your presentation.” Yu Qi said sincerely.
After finishing the very last drop of his bowl of noodles, Tang Qin Hao politely excused himself to return to his lab. He stood up, gave a concise nod to the two of them, and walked away with long strides, finally leaving Yu Qi and Long Hui pletely alone at the table.
“Are you deeply worried about him travelling to Continent M right now?” Long Hui asked quietly the moment Tang Qin Hao’s figure pletely disappeared from their sight.
“If it were just a normal, everyday academic conference in a peaceful territory, I would not be concerned about his safety at all.” Yu Qi sighed softly, leaning her chin on her hand as her appetite vanished pletely into thin air.
“Why do you say so? Is there something specific bothering you?” Long Hui asked, his curiosity piqued by her unusually heavy tone.
It was not as if Tang Qin Hao had never gone overseas for a medical conference before. He travelled for his research quite frequently. Long Hui truly didn’t understand why Yu Qi seemed so uniquely anxious about this particular trip.
“Before Ji Gu Niang was transported over to the Heavenly Crane Pavilion, she was hospitalised right here at our facility. At the time, I called Master Lou and asked him to e over to check on her condition to see whether his spiritual expertise could help or not.” Yu Qi explained, letting out another heavy sigh. “While he was here, Master Lou happened to catch a glimpse of Brother Qin Hao. Afterwards, he pulled me aside and very solemnly told me to make sure to relay a message to Brother Qin Hao, warning him to be exceptionally careful on his next uping trip.”

“Exactly. If those people in Continent M want to make a malicious move on your brother, they will inevitably strike during the trip. The moment they try to lay a single finger on him, we will be right there in the shadows to catch them red-handed on the spot.” Long Hui stated calmly.
“Hmm… That is actually an excellent idea. Let’s do it.” Yu Qi’s eyes lit up with excitement as she began to mentally map out the logistics.
