Could this bespectacled girl really be after , as Zoe said? Jack's heart skipped a beat. Although his psychology skills were only at a beginner level, his ability to read people had clearly improved. He had flipped through the textbooks for the required courses he received last night; the difficulty wasn't high, and he could easily handle them in his spare ti.
Although community college courses aren't particularly difficult, professors are more demanding of those aiming for early graduation, and they don't dare relax too much. Jack chose psychology as his major, hoping to achieve multiple benefits. At 9 a.m., Hannah parked her car in front of a very elegant little villa on a street in Maryland. Jack got out and took gifts from the trunk. He had prepared a bottle of aged whiskey beforehand, one of the few prized possessions he'd brought from the small grocery store. Hannah had prepared a bouquet of roses.
Crossing the lawn in front of the villa, Jack frowned. The lawn had clearly been carefully tended, with a ring of red roses planted around the fence, but it had obviously been neglected for months; weeds had sprouted, and the rose bushes looked sowhat ssy.
Receiving a signal from Jack, Hannah also looked worried. Could it be that the elderly couple had recently encountered so problems?
The door opened, and Dee Dee McCall, her charm still evident, appeared before them.
"Mrs. Hunter, it's a pleasure to see you," Hannah said, embracing her and presenting her with flowers.
"Hello, lovely little Hannah, it's a pleasure to see you again," Dee Dee McCall replied, accepting the roses with a delighted expression.
