Jack was incredibly fast, and being in the lead, he quickly overtook Walker and his son after a single acceleration. The vegetation in the desert wasn't lush, but so tall cacti and bushes taller than a person blocked the view. Gunfire erupted incessantly.

Although he could hear Hannah's Glock gunshot mixed in, the gunfire from the other side was even denser, with at least four or five pistols firing in their direction.

"Hannah!"

Jack was frantic. He rounded a clump of bushes and saw three figures ahead: the bar owner, Geri, and Stella, half-carrying, half-supporting Emily as they stumbled towards them. Hannah was nowhere to be seen.

Emily clutched her right abdon, blood dripping from between her fingers. Jack quickly went to support her, laid her flat on the ground, cast a healing spell on her that stopped internal bleeding but not external, and asked urgently, "Where's Hannah?"

Emily was in too much pain to speak. Geri, panting, pointed behind them. "Hannah said she'd cover us and told us to co find you first. There are a lot of them, they're down the hillside. You need to hurry."

Jack took off his coat and placed it under Emily's injured lower back. "Try to stop the bleeding. I'll go help Hannah."

The sound of Hannah's Glock gunshot was still ringing out, aning she wasn't in imdiate danger, but he didn't dare delay. The main organs in her right abdon were her liver and kidneys; his treatnt would stop the internal bleeding and she wouldn't be in mortal danger.

In the original story, Emily died after encountering drug dealers alone and was silenced. That's why Jack organized this group trip, but he didn't expect that the four of them would still run into trouble together.

But this was a lucky accident, as it conveniently solved the problem completely.

At this mont, Walker and his son rushed over. Seeing Emily injured, Augie turned pale with shock, while Walker's face was ashen. He knelt down to check on his wife's injuries.

"Augie, give the gun."

Jack snatched the AR-15 from Augie's shoulder, removed the magazine to check it — it contained standard NATO 5.56x45mm ammunition, with a capacity of 20 rounds. He loaded the magazine, pressed the slide release, reloaded, and crouched down, jogging towards the direction from which the Glock's gunfire was coming.

He hadn't run 50 ters when he saw Hannah lying behind a rock in a thicket of bushes, completely hidden from view, only occasionally peeking out with her right hand holding the gun to fire a couple of shots blindly. An empty magazine lay beside her.

"Hannah, are you alright?"

Jack dropped to a prone position a short distance away, approaching her. Hannah glanced back at him and shook her head.

"I'm fine. There are five of them. I'm out of magazines, but I have three bullets left."

Jack pulled out his FK 7.5mm and handed it to her along with two spare magazines. "Cover . This gun has a lot of recoil, so be careful."

Hannah nodded, put away her Glock, and switched to a two-handed grip.

Seeing that their counterattack had temporarily ceased, the other side quickly stopped firing as well. Soone shouted loudly in Spanish, seemingly urging their comrades to move forward.

Jack rolled several tis to the side, taking cover behind another rock, and secretly peered down the slope. It was already dark, but not completely so; a waning crescent moon appeared in the sky, half-hidden.

This amount of light was enough for him with his senses fully activated. He could clearly see a Toyota pickup truck parked on the path trodden by people about 200 ters away. Two n had just run back to the truck and were taking two rifles from the back, seemingly to cover their comrades' attack.

A hundred ters closer, there were three more n, holding pistols, hiding behind rocks, occasionally peeking nervously upwards.

Holding his breath, Jack aid at one of the two n standing by the truck, who was already loading a magazine with his gun pointed upwards, and steadily pulled the trigger.

With a scream of pain, the man clutched his waist and fell to the ground, his rifle falling to the floor. But he was quick-witted; he struggled to crawl to the back of the pickup truck and hid behind the tires.

"Damn it," Jack cursed inwardly. Although he was using iron sights, the first shot was scattered.

The shorter man with the rifle beside the car didn't imdiately retaliate. Instead, as his companion was shot, he quickly hid behind the engine, not daring to peek out.

At the sa ti, Hannah's FK 7.5mm opened fire, a continuous barrage. The deep, powerful gunshot was completely different from the clanging of the Glock. The first shot knocked down an enemy who had only partially exposed, and several more shots quickly riddled him with holes.

At this distance, the terrifying power of the 7.5mm bullet was evident; the man only let out a half-scream before falling silent.

The group below panicked. They had been fighting for a while, and the enemy had only been firing a Glock. Suddenly, everything went silent, and they assud they were out of ammunition. But within minutes, not only had another rifle appeared, but the Glock had also developed a sound they'd never heard before — an unusually violent one.

As Hannah killed one of the n, Jack didn't stop. He aid at the two right wheels of the pickup truck facing him and pulled the trigger repeatedly. This ti, all four bullets landed where he expected, and both tires went flat.

Since they were already here, none of them would escape.

The tide had turned. Hannah's FK 7.5mm was keeping the two nearby enemies pinned down. Seeing that the pickup truck's hood was still motionless, Jack glanced around, picked up a rock the size of an egg, and dashed forward.

His AR-15 was out of magazines, so Jack didn't dare waste too many bullets. He kept his body low to the ground, silently counting Hannah's shots. As she shouted "Reload!", he ducked behind a rock that could serve as cover.

He didn't know the world record for the 100-ter dash, but in less than ten seconds, Jack, bent over, had covered nearly 80 ters. Now he was less than 20 ters from the two nearby enemies.

After ntally assessing the distance and direction, Jack, leaning against the rock, forcefully threw the stone behind him, shouting, "Hey!"

Hearing the sudden shout and the sound of nearby stones hitting the ground, the two n scread and turned to run. The next second, Jack erged from behind the rock and fired two shots — bang, bang! — one to the head, the other to the back, both collapsing to the ground.

He walked expressionlessly to the man who had been shot in the back and finished him off with another shot.

"Co out yourselves, or do you want to help you?" Jack shouted from in front of the pickup truck to the two n hiding on the other side.
