Jack hadn't expected his actions to be so self-deceptive. The door was only slightly ajar; out of curiosity, he pushed it open, turned around, and quietly closed it behind him. He tiptoed inside.
Inside the bedroom, two sisters, still dressed, were playfully wrestling.
"I ca to help you out of kindness, and you treat like this!"
Zoe, the more skilled one, pinned Hannah down, her long legs firmly locking Hannah's slender waist. "You owe an apology!"
"Absolutely not! We agreed that you could only co to Jack when I wasn't there, you couldn't take him from !"
Hannah struggled and twisted, trying to break free from her cousin straddling her.
"I didn't agree to that. I don't know who cried and said they'd give her so ti. I just want to have a proper relationship, and now you want to keep him all to yourself?"
"I can give you anything, except him. You dare bite ?"
A sharp "smack" followed, followed by Hannah's scream.
Jack stole a glance. Her buttocks felt incredibly bouncy and smooth, like jelly.
"Waaah!" Hannah stopped struggling, but her crying was too fake and did nothing to mislead the enemy. Instead, she received another slap. But this ti from Jack
"Ahem," Jack coughed lightly, pretending not doing anything, completely ignoring the two won frozen on the bed. He walked through the bedroom and into the adjacent bathroom to shower.

The next day, everyone went about their assigned tasks. Jack and Hannah set off early in the morning in their Aston Martin to return to town. After contacting Finlay, they t again at the outdoor barbecue restaurant in the suburbs.
It was Hannah's first ti eting Finlay. After a brief introduction, Jack recounted the events of the previous night, then focused on the details of Joe's investigation. Even though Finlay was sowhat prepared, he was still so shocked he couldn't speak for a long ti.
"I should have listened to my FBI friend's advice and not co to this damn place," Finlay said angrily.
"Watch your words," Jack teased. "You can still back out now. You've already received your full retirent pension for 20 years. If you resign now, Mayor and Police Chief Tiller will definitely agree."
Finlay glared at him irritably. "I've been a cop for 20 years and I've never backed down from sothing like this, although I should probably consider retiring after this."
As he spoke, he took out a docunt and handed it to the two of them.
"The deceased under the overpass was nad Pete Zobrin, a truck driver for Southern Freight Shipping. I checked, and the actual controller of this company is Kleiner Industries, so this driver was one of Kleiner's."
"He lived in Brookhaven. While you were busy dealing with those South Arican killers, I visited him. It was a nice, big house."
"His wife didn't have a very good relationship with him. She wasn't saddened by her husband's death, and perhaps sensing sothing was wrong, she was planning to move to Florida. I found several empty cardboard boxes with the Kleiner Industries logo in his garage."
Finlay pulled out his phone, pointing to several photos he had taken.
Jack stroked the sparse stubble on his chin. "This truck driver was willing to be a witness, so there's a possibility of embezzlent. If we can find so counterfeit money, we'll have basic evidence. Do you have his parents' address? I plan to visit them."
Finlay pointed to the second page of the file. "The address is here. His father and he have the exact sa na. I almost got it wrong at first."
"Also, you asked to investigate the other two officers under my command. Baker is highly suspicious. I heard he secretly bought a house in Atlanta and found a new young girlfriend."
"But Stevenson should be clean. His wife is pregnant. I overheard him talking to his wife on the phone about bringing her parents over to help them take care of the baby, just to save money."
Jack's brain started racing. In the original story, Kleiner wanted to learn about the progress of Reacher's investigation from Stevenson, so he used extrely cruel thods to murder the innocent couple, killing two unborn children and three lives — a heinous cri.
What he told everyone last night was that he planned to lay another bait, intending to use this incident to see if he could lure Kleiner out first.
After ntally reviewing the plan and finding no problems, Finlay slowly said, "I rember Stevenson once asked Roscoe to help check on the Hubble family. Do you think he would be more concerned and inquire about their situation if he knew they were missing?"
Finlay nodded matter-of-factly. "He's not very familiar with , but he still hesitantly asked about them this morning, and I didn't say anything."
"Do you have a way to arrange a visit tonight in front of that Baker, hinting that you have information about Paul Hubble?"
Finlay frowned and thought for a mont. "That shouldn't be difficult. You don't an to—" He suddenly widened his eyes and looked at Jack.
"Since he's clean, we shouldn't drag him into this. He's just an ordinary person."
"Yesterday was just baiting, tonight is the real fishing. Paul is very important to the Kleiner family. He has access to a lot of small-denomination banknotes and has real contact with their core mbers."
Jack analyzed for him, "Everyone knows that Stevenson and the Hubble family are related. Now that the entire Hubble family has disappeared, and he's been gathering information everywhere, do you think the Kleiner family will let him go? You just said that his wife is pregnant."
Finlay was finally persuaded and agreed to give it a try. He then said goodbye and went back to the police station. Seeing that he looked uneasy as he left, Jack knew that he needed ti to process all this troubling news.
After leaving the outdoor barbecue restaurant, he took Hannah to visit Pete Zobrin's parents. Hannah's FBI credentials successfully gained the trust of the two elderly people who were still grieving the loss of their son. Then, they found a whole box of counterfeit hundred-dollar bills in their garage.
They took the box of counterfeit money and went straight back to Atlanta. Around the sa ti, Chris, who had gone to pick them up, and Reacher, who had gone to the barbershop to retrieve the docunts Gray had left behind, also returned to the hotel that afternoon.
