Young Kleiner suddenly opened his eyes, making gurgling noises, but unable to utter a single complete word. He twitched on the ground like a skinned frog sprinkled with salt.
"Enjoy it slowly," Jack said, putting his headset back on and turning to leave.
Although he didn't consider this guy human, he still felt a little uneasy after doing all this. Needless to say, this was the first ti he'd done sothing so brutal.
But if he didn't do it, he felt uneasy. For one thing, thinking about the original story where young Kleiner instructed a group of thugs to tie Stevenson to a chair, place mirrors around him, forcibly pry open his eyelids, and force him to watch his pregnant wife being raped and killed...
[A/n: Ok, I didn't know about this. Dude, is it to make viewers hate him or so logical response, I am curious?]
Jack felt he had already shown considerable restraint by not using a salt-dipped knife to skin this beast alive.
Suppressing the urge to turn around and shoot young Kleiner, Jack walked towards the center of the warehouse. He needed sothing to distract himself.
The battle was basically over. All the Kleiner family thugs and South Arican gangsters had been wiped out. Reacher and Braxton were like two efficient killing machines, leaving only corpses in their wake.
When Jack arrived, only three people remained standing in the middle of the factory: a fat man with a cane and a white beard, supporting an old man in a suit who looked sowhat like young Kleiner.
In front of them was a guy who looked like a bear co to life, presumably the FBI agent nad Picard.
Finlay was currently wrestling with this guy. Although both were black, there was a huge difference in their height and weight.
Finlay was basically being pinned to the ground and unilaterally beaten. Finally, Reacher couldn't stand it anymore, pulled Picard away, and knocked him to the ground with three punches.
Jack stepped forward and helped Finlay up. Even with his suit off, Finlay hadn't unleashed his full potential; he was bleeding from the nose.
"What are you all waiting for?" Kleiner pushed aside Mayor Tiller, who was supporting him, and stood before the crowd.
He wondered if all mbers of this family, or rather, the upper class, were like this — pretending to be sothing they'd be in deep trouble.
Zoe sneered, "Wait until all your creditors arrive. Do you know who I am?"
Kleiner's eyes narrowed slightly, and the slightly sagging skin on his cheek twitched; he clearly recognized Zoe.
"The Anderson family in California? You know about it? It's just a misunderstanding. I don't know why you've been investigating ."
"Congressman Burhand warned you, but you kept pressing . I haven't offended you; I've even shown you goodwill."
"That matter has nothing to do with . It was KJ who acted on his own. He's the one who did all the recent things, including killing Chief Morrison. That kid has gone mad, completely out of control. I was even planning to send him to a ntal hospital."
Jack scoffed, sensing that the old man had lost his mind.
"No need for that. I've already treated him. He's enjoying the treatnt process now, which will help him prepare for his future life in hell."
"No, what did you do? He's just a child. What he needs is…"
"Bang!" Hannah, who had rushed over, shot Kleiner in the knee, interrupting his remaining words.
"You're such a kind and loving father."
Kleiner scread as he collapsed to the ground. "You can't do this to ! Only if I live can this town have hope. I'm the one who feeds everyone here. If I die, this town is finished."
Jack suddenly raised his hand and fired a shot at Mayor Tiller, who was trying to sneak out through the back security door while Kleiner had distracted everyone.
Then he turned to Roscoe and laughed, "What are you waiting for?"
"You son of a bitch!" Roscoe pounced on him. "You killed Gray."
This girl from the southern town was much stronger than Finlay. Although they were equally disparate in size, Roscoe quickly took down the fat, pig-like Tiller.
Then she kneed him in the chest and punched his face repeatedly.
"He's my father. You said you've been friends since you were six. How could you do this?"
"No… Ah… Stop hitting him! It was just an accident. Gray is too stubborn. He won't listen to at all. I warned him not to interfere in Kleiner's affairs. I was doing it for his own good!"
"So you knocked him out!"
Thump!
"And then staged a hanging in the garage?"
Thump!
Roscoe punched Tiller with every word she spoke until he was unconscious.
Reacher stepped forward, patted her shoulder, and placed the Desert Eagle in her hand.
"End this with the gun Gray gave you."
Roscoe stood up and decisively pulled the trigger.
"You… You can't do this. This is vigilante justice. Oh, and Picard, he's an FBI agent. If you do this, the FBI will definitely investigate. Send to jail. I promise I won't say anything, I won't say anything."
Kleiner clutched his injured leg, enduring the pain, desperately searching for a glimr of hope.
Bang!
Jack shot Picard, who was lying on the ground, in the head, and turned around in surprise, "FBI? Why didn't you say so sooner?"
Even the dumbest person could see that Jack was playing him, let alone Kleiner, who had just been pretending to be crazy.
"Who are you? And her, what creditor? I don't know her at all." The old man, clutching his injured leg, stared fiercely at Jack and Hannah, who had shot him, as if trying to morize their faces.
Jack ignored him; it was Hannah's turn.
"I know you don't know , and you may not even rember that you killed my parents. It doesn't matter. I just want to send you to hell with my own hands."
After saying this, Hannah emptied the magazine in her hand at the culprit who caused her unhappy childhood.
....
Clink!
Jack closed his lighter, took a deep drag on his cigar, and felt the slight stinging sensation in his mouth from the smoke.
After the fierce battle, the n sat silently outside the factory, each with a cigar in hand. These spoils ca from Kleiner's office collection.
The sky was beginning to lighten with the first hint of dawn; it was already past 4 a.m. The exhaustion from the fierce battle left everyone sowhat dazed, staring blankly at the rising sun in the distance.
"Actually, this place is quite beautiful," Jack suddenly realized. Since arriving in this town, aside from that one trip to the town square, he hadn't really paid much attention to his surroundings.
Now that everything was over, it was as if a veil had been ripped away from this place, revealing it to him in a completely new way.
