"What's going on?" Jack asked, taking a small note from Hondo. It contained a string of incomprehensible Greek letters.

Just as the four of them were clearing Block B, Hondo and his two companions, with the help of the hastily arriving Team B, stord into Block C and rescued two missionaries.

However, Gunnar Card escaped with several of his henchn, forcibly dragging away Sister Carlita, who was stabbed in the abdon and on the verge of death.

They concentrated all the semi-automatic rifles they had obtained from the armory, unleashing a fierce barrage of fire. One Team B mber was unfortunately hit.

Fortunately, although the bullet pierced his chest armor, it shattered in the process, leaving insufficient residual kinetic energy, only causing superficial wounds. He was taken out of the building to the hospital for treatnt.

"Gunnar Card and his n hid in Block D and used a welding machine brought in by the construction workers to weld the iron gate in the passageway shut."

"I knew he was stalling for ti, but I didn't know what he was planning, so I searched his cell and found this note."

"It must be a ssage soone passed to him through underground channels, but there's no ti to find soone to decipher this nonsense."

"Huh? This doesn't seem too difficult." Jack glanced at the note, a slight smile playing on his lips. He was used to the thrill of overwhelming others with force, but the thrill of intellectual dominance was rare; the two seed to offer different kinds of satisfaction.

Spending so much ti with Reid, listening to his daily chatter, he had learned a bit about cryptography.

"A simple letter substitution, replacing English letters with Greek letters, and then rewriting it in English. Give a pen."

Jack took a pencil from Vice-Captain Deacon and began writing on a piece of paper as he spoke.

"Delta is δ, used to represent D, Alpha is α, which is A, and μ is μ, representing L,"

he scribbled two words quickly on the paper. "Dale Degrot? That should be it. Gunnar Card is looking for a prisoner."

However, the joy of successfully showing off didn't last a minute before he was proven wrong.

"There's no such na in the prison database." Deacon showed him the tactical tablet on his arm.

"That's impossible!" Jack grabbed his arm unwillingly and re-entered the na. Sure enough, nothing was found. This Dale Degrot was neither a prisoner nor a guard.

"Calm down, calm down. This na should be correct, otherwise it wouldn't be such a coincidence."

"Block D, what are they hiding in Block D?" Hondo seed to suddenly realize sothing, patted Jack on the shoulder, and prompted him.

"Do you rember what that contractor, Ash Jones, said when we asked him about the whereabouts of your two guys?"

Jack suddenly realized. "He said there were several separate rooms in Block D, which were actually single cells for special prisoners."

"Dale Degrot? I see, Mr. Jones, we need to talk."

Jessica Cortez, who had been waiting in the command center outside the building, turned to prison contractor Ash Jones imdiately after receiving the na from Hondo. After so questioning, she quickly got the information.

Dale Degrot was a prisoner under protective custody and a key witness in a drug and arms smuggling case.

He had made a deal with the District Attorney and was transferred to this prison a few weeks ago. His testimony could send Gunnar Card's entire business network outside to jail.

"Those cells in Block D have separate security asures. It cost a lot of money. Those prisoners under protective custody are very safe inside. I didn't expect the riot to involve them."

Ash Jones was still trying to explain why he had kept it a secret.

"I'll discuss this with you properly after this is over." Jessica Cortez angrily interrupted his nonsense, informing everyone in the building of the situation.

"Let guess..." Jack said, "those construction workers who ca to the prison to work happened to have small generators, welding machines, and cutting equipnt with them. These items were then traded by the 'Bahamut Gang' in Block B to Gunnar Card in exchange for weapons." Jack imdiately connected the dots.

"Gunnar Card instigated two other gangs to join him in a riot, and in exchange, they got prison guard uniforms and protective gear from the 'Nine Gang'." Hondo continued.

"He was stalling for ti to find Dale Degrot in Block D, break down the cell door, kill him, and then escape disguised as a prison guard. Sister Carlita was his insurance; he could use her to bargain if things went wrong."

"This guy's smart."

"Yeah, definitely not stupid."

"There are probably a lot of accomplices among the guards. Even that contractor, Ash Jones, might be involved."

"This prison is riddled with holes."

The SWAT team mbers listening in offered their opinions one after another after hearing their analysis.

"Alright, we can talk about these things after we get out. The most important thing now is to stop Gunnar Card's plan and prevent him from killing his target to cover it up."

Hondo waved his hand, leading everyone to the passage between Block C and Block D.

"This is the updated map of Block D. The solitary confinent cells are here, six in total. Dale Degrot is in cell number three in the middle, and Jack's two colleagues are in one of the remaining cells."

"Gunnar Card has five more n, making six including him. They are all ard with rifles, and three of them are guarding the passage with the welded-shut iron doors, separated from the solitary confinent area by a corridor and two corners."

Hondo's face was grim. Judging from the current setup, if the SWAT forces a full-scale attack, there is a high probability that a stalemate will result.

If a stalemate does occur, Sister Carlita, the last hostage, will inevitably beco a human shield.

This nun is Latina, and no one can guarantee what Gunnar Card, this white supremacist, will do when he is finally cornered.

The most troubleso thing is that no one knows how long it will take these guys to cut through the heavy iron door of cell number three, which ans SWAT doesn't have much ti to formulate an attack plan.

For a mont, everyone was at a loss. Was a direct assault really the only option left? Using the sa old tactics—tear gas or stun grenades—to subdue Gunnar Card and his n wasn't out of the question, but these normally non-lethal weapons could be fatal to the already seriously injured Sister Carlita.

"Uh, are Gunnar Card's n wearing those prison guards' uniforms and armor? They're all wearing helts, right?"

Jack suddenly asked out of the blue.

The prison guards' full protective armor was designed for hand-to-hand combat; not only were the helts not bulletproof, but the seemingly intimidating plastic armor, similar to that of rugby players, was also not bulletproof.

"You want to?" Hondo hesitated.

"Since they want to impersonate prison guards to sneak out, then so can I."

[A/n: This is the worst and idiotic arc I am editing after the 'Wrong Turn' arc. Just don't get why MC is sticking out his pussy for others to wreck.]
