Jack did indeed have a hacker friend, Abby Sciuto, the future chief forensic scientist of NCIS and a computer genius, who turned out to be his predecessor's high school classmate.
This gothic-style girl was his predecessor's biggest fan in high school, tirelessly dedicated to tricking Jack into losing his virginity, much to his predecessor's annoyance, but the two also beca good friends.
After graduating from high school, Abby attended Louisiana State University, currently pursuing three majors simultaneously: sociology, criminology, and psychology. After Jack's transmigration, the two maintained contact through social networks.
Previously, when Jack was struggling with the aftereffects of the shooting, he had bought so psychology-related books at her suggestion, thus unlocking the psychology skill on his system skill panel.
Zoe, clearly trapped in a thought trap due to her life experiences and work habits, had never truly considered this possibility.
After a mont's thought, she nodded, thinking it worth a try, but a strange feeling involuntarily arose within her.
It seed to be the first ti she realized that the boy before her, whom she had once thought was very opinionated and precocious, had sohow grown into a real man, a partner who could offer her help and advice, soone she could rely on.
"Don't worry, I'll be with Hannah. Don't worry about her safety. I think my recent performance is enough to prove I wasn't just talking big."
Jack noticed sothing strange in Zoe's eyes, unsure of her thoughts, and assud she was worried about Hannah.
"Hmph!" Zoe felt a sudden pang of jealousy. Although it was a choice she had been forced to make, the thought of the boy she had cared for to end up benefiting her cousin made her resentful.
This ti, Jack didn't need to guess; he could sense it with his nose. At this point, words were superfluous; he could only strain his kidneys.
After touring the bedroom, they moved on to the bathroom, and then the living room. Jack worried that he might subconsciously copy Zoe's house design when renovating, simply because it was all too familiar.
He was grateful for the healing spell again; otherwise, he might have even doubted whether he could still step on the gas in the police car the next day.
After returning ho last night, he contacted Abby imdiately. Of course, he didn't actually ask her to investigate this Kleiner Industries; instead, he asked her to hack into the police station of a small town in Georgia. The instructions were for her to notify him imdiately if she discovered that a guy nad Jack Reacher was being detained there.
As for why Jack rembered the town's na, he didn't actually rember it, but it was the hotown of the blind blues singer repeatedly ntioned in the show, and a quick Google search revealed it to be Margrave, Georgia.
Investigating the counterfeit money ring rashly was too dangerous. Abby was just an ordinary college student; even if she were a genius, a mistake could lead to danger or other unnecessary chain reactions that would disrupt the plot.
With Jack's current skill level and status as an ordinary police officer, without the powerful protagonist's aura from the original series, even if he could escape unscathed with Hannah against such a criminal organization, he might lose his police status and have his system shut down.
Utilizing the abilities and identities of the main characters' team to propel the plot forward at crucial monts and ultimately achieve a perfect ending was the best option at present.
Jack and Tim received warm applause at work today. Although the serial murder case was ordered to be shut down from above, it was no secret within the Wilshire Police Departnt. Everyone knew about their heroic performance that day.
Jack even found out that Hannah actually pulled Lucy to show everyone the scene of the wall incident. He couldn't help but have a black line. This girl also has popular culture, right? He shouldn't have promised not to spank her.
Since Bishop was transferred to the ATF, a new African Arican female officer, Nyla Harper, joined the departnt these past few days. Jack's impression of her was much deeper than Bishop's.
She was a petite woman with a rather fierce personality. She had worked undercover for several years and, despite having earned the credentials to work in any departnt, chose the relatively stable patrol unit to fight for custody of her daughter.
She and Tim seed to be old friends, and now that Jack was past his rookie phase, he no longer had to sit in the front row. At the briefing, he sat in the middle to the back, like in a large university lecture hall, with Hannah beside him and the two bickering on the other side.
Today's briefing was very brief. Jack left the eting room and went with Hannah to the armory to collect equipnt.
Hannah would be reporting to Quantico for another month, but was expected to officially leave in three weeks, while Angela was already preparing for her promotion to detective. This ant that two of Jack's familiar partners would be leaving him.
Unfortunately, Nolan and Lucy still had six months before they were officially promoted, otherwise he would have really wanted to partner with Nolan. Not only were they the closest of friends, but as the protagonist, Nolan would have many more opportunities to handle interesting cases.
More cases ant more opportunities for recognition, and Jack didn't want to waste his ti in the patrol division. He planned to take the detective exam or try to join the FBI after obtaining his bachelor's degree from community college within a year and a half.
Zoe's political career and Hannah's move to Quantico didn't put any pressure on Jack. Although the won had their own expectations of him, narrowing the class gap was beneficial for their long-term relationships.
He didn't want to only be able to visit the bedroom of a city councilor or even a future state legislator, with nothing in common to talk about.
After retrieving their equipnt from the armory, the two walked and laughed, when suddenly they saw the entire police departnt mobilized. Angela and Tim rushed past them.
"What happened?" Hannah called out to Angela.
"The prison transport van was in an accident; it's full of prisoners from the courthouse."
Hannah and Jack exchanged a glance, quickly grabbing their gear and following.
This was the second ti the Wilshire Police Departnt had been mobilized in its entirety since the Bronson Mansion shootout.
Last ti, Jack was the one trapped inside the building and hadn't really experienced it; this was the first ti he'd truly witnessed a large-scale operation.
Dozens of police cars sped along with sirens blaring, while three police helicopters roared overhead, heading to the scene ahead of ti.
The accident occurred on a winding mountain road. When Jack stopped the car, a county sheriff in a khaki uniform stood by the roadside, his head covered in blood.
